Miledy’s Hair & Skin Salon

Best place ever to get your hair done. It does not matter if you speak Spanish or not, they will make your hair beautiful. They have English speakers, so translation is not a problem either. They are all nice and make you feel like a part of the family. I have tried other salons. None compare to the service I get here. You have to try it.

Was not impressed with this place at all. Upon walking in, the place was messy and not very clean. I told the woman what type of haircut I wanted and even showed her a picture. I could tell it was not cut the way I asked for. Then when I asked for her to blow it dry she refused since they were closing. So I had to leave the salon with wet hair and could not even really see how the haircut came out. When I got home and blow-​dryed I could see how bad it was. Crooked in the back and not at all angled like it should have been. So now I have to go to another salon to have it fixed. Oh and it seems they never clean out their hair brushes. It was gross and could definitely spread lice. Should be some sort of violation. I will never go there again.

I went here for the first time right before Thanksgiving to get my hair cut and blown out. I hadn’t had a hair cut for a really long time so I figured it was time to get a professional cut. I didn’t expect much since I have been let down so many times by stylists but I had a good experience here.
I was advised to go early so I got to the shop around 8 am and my wash started within 30 – 45 minutes. I have waited much longer than that in other salons so I was ok with that. The process started with the wash and condition, then sit under the dryer, then rinse and rollers, then sit under the dryer, then blow dry with and EXTREMELY HOT blow dryer, then cut then flat iron.
Now my hair is very curly and Milvia was able to get my hair bone straight with the blow dryer. I have never seen that before but I can only guess that if my hair didn’t do well with high heat I would definitely have some heat damage (it took three washes for my curls to revive and bounce back… remember I mainly only went to have my hair cut but my hair curls unevenly so it is better to cut is when straight).
So after all of this my hair looked AMAZING and stayed straight for about a week and a half before I felt it was time to wash it. I only had to touch up my edges a couple times which is great because I wanted to avoid putting any additional heat on my hair. The price was reasonable so I would definitely go back.

Every time i visited my sister in Tampa i was so jealous of her luscious hair.
During my last trip she finally took me and introduced my to the owner of Miledy’s Hair Salon. Who happened to be a very knowledgeable friendly lady. Their friendly staff took care of us right away. My sister frequently goes here every week where they treat her hair as it should be.
I have always had trouble with the texture of my hair. Its really thick, full and curly. Usually hair dressers get a bit overwhelmed and make you feel weird. NOT HERE! I felt so comfortable when she complimented my hair and recommended the best way to care of it. Unlike the places i usually visit in New York (who pressure you to buy their product and that’s all they care) Miledy was easy and understanding.
Miledy suggested a hair cut and which was styled the bottom upwards and the rest down which gave my hair the perfect volume without looking overwhelming. It was genius and I thought it was a great idea because it didn’t make me hot with Tampa’s heat wave.
My hair sure enough lasted the entire week. Something is nearly impossible because my hair gets curly with very little humidity.
Bonus: Miledy showed me how to take care of my hair at night to make it last longer.
I would without a doubt recommend this salon. Its chilled and respectful. Everything you should expect from a professional hair stylish team.
I love Miledy, her staff and the aesthetic of the Salon. Its nicely designed.

I’ve gone to Miledy’s a few times over the past six years or so. I personally don’t like going because of the wait. If you want to be in and out, I suggest going early on a weekday, or else you’ll be there for hours when all you want is a simple blowdry. Everyone is very nice, though they don’t talk to you much and just get their job done. It isn’t very clean, though, as there have been a few times where I see cockroaches walking around while under the hairdrying helmet in the back. Prices aren’t too bad, my hair is midback length and curly, and I was charged $ 40 for a wash, rollers, and blowdry.
The reason I gave this place four stars is because despite the waiting and occasional bugs, they do an AMAZING job. I’m always happy with my hair when I leave, and I’m very picky when it comes to that.
Also, last time I went a few months ago, they were no longer taking cards. So I suggest bringing cash only or else you may have to go to an ATM.
