OMG, They were the BEST!!! The guy who made the pizzas on Friday nights got the crust just PERFECT!!! I am so bummed they closed. Huge pizza for a very reasonable price too! I really wish they would re-open!!! Sam & Eddy(Downtown) is pretty darn close if you get a fresh pie… But then you have to deal with parking downtown… Pomodoro Pizza in Brandon is good too(and mobile meals delivers for them for a min order amount)… But again, Roma’s was the BEST in Tampa if you want really tasty & Fresh thin-crust NY-style pizza.

They look like they are closed? We tried to stop in yesterday for dinner… but no luck? They had great NY style pizza, we can remember taking the kids a couple of years ago and they gave them dough balls to play with while the pizza was cooking. We made a special side trip to Ybor city and the place wasn’t open, no indication of store hours or anything. Doesn’t seem like a pizza place would be closed on a Wednesday night.

Lunch Dec 28 Very friendly and affordable NY style pizza place. Pizza seemed bigger than most, ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Cheese Steaks and Meatball Sub were also very good and reasonably priced. Garlic knots were some of best I had every had. Pie maker and owner were very friendly and accommodating — made you feel at home like they were cooking for you in their kitchen! I hear they stay open late to cater to that late night Ybor party crowd, so if you’re down that way, grab a slice!

Slices: Edible. Assuming you’ve been drinking and you need dough and cheese. Not terrible, but I’d not make it a destination. Plus, no air conditioning, and and interior décor that reads ‘left over from the previous tenant’ Really, 2.5 stars — but I’m not gonna hit them with 2, so I’ll round up.

Pretty decent pizza. Large New York slices at an okay price(not the New York dollar slice, more like $ 3+ per slice). It’s very greasy, the pepperoni at least, but it still tastes good(I blame it on the alcohol and hy-hy-hy-hypo-thal-a-mus). This seems to be the spot for when you are done drinking to sober up a bit with food and water. They seem to close the inside at 3 am, but have a pizza window open to order from, which is convenient.

Roma is a very casual, few frills pizza joint in the thick of things down on 7th Avenue in Ybor City. Not only do they have pretty good pizza, but it is also cheap, especially considering their prime location. We got the Hot Bird in the City(buffalo chicken) pizza and the 7th Avenue pizza, which has sausage, feta, bacon, red pepper, not sure what else. The buffalo chicken pizza was really good, but the 7th Ave could have used a little more kick. Not bad though. The crust was very good. Our daughter got a slice of pepperoni and it was good. Pizzas are only $ 8.95 for a 10-inch and $ 3 per slice. By St. Louis standards this is pretty cheap, especially given the prime location. Unless you’re a big eater, two people can split one. As an added bonus, they are open until 3 on weekends.

I was in Tampa on business and was walking in the area when I noticed a long line to get into Roma pizza. I am glad I decided to wait. The staff is amazing and are superior when it comes to customer service. I felt welcome, as if I had been coming to eat here for years… they made me feel at home. The establishment is great for lunch. Its casual and has a «come as you are» vibe. I started with plain sweet tea and it was great. The potato chips are very good and come highly recommended! I ate here on two occasions. The first time I had the pizza. The pizza is good but not on par with some of the best pizza I have eaten. The second time I ate at this establishment I ordered a sandwich and it was VERY good. The portions are large, fresh, and tasty. I look forward to eating here again.

So we walk through Ybor City. Fights break out. Trannies shake it. Southern Hood Folk as far as the eye can see. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that 15% of the black males had dreadlocks. It was awesome. As we continue our walk… we discover there’s a pizzeria and we hear the slices are good there. We ordered a cheese pie($ 15) and a pepperoni pie($ 18). Compared to NY the prices are steep, but there were about 12 slices, smaller than a regular slice, but just as good. They reheated pies for us… I guess in our intoxicated state we applauded the speed, and didn’t question the freshness. Dope food… a little spendy tho… gosh…
