The Potter’s House Studio

What a great place. No artistic ability required. There is something for everyone. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Miss Josie has lots of great techniques to share. We go almost every Saturday and have made lots of gifts and plenty of items for home too. Highly recommended!

Create amazing one of a kind pottery pieces at this friendly South Tampa studio. Choose from a variety of plates, cups, bowls, vases, figurines, and more. Then, choose your paint colors, templates, and start designing your masterpiece. If you need ideas or help, the staff is ready with an encouraging word and helpful hints. Pieces are fired in the kiln and ready for pickup in days. Worth the wait! Conveniently located on Westshore about a mile north of Gandy, this locally owned shop is a gem!

Josie and her studio are true gems! She was super helpful and made the experience so much fun. For some one who loves to be artistic but lacks the technical skill she made it super simple. Will be back soon!!!

Josie was great! My wife and I decided to try this out and I’m very glad we did. At first I was kind of skeptical about it, but as soon as we arrived Josie walked us through everything and made us feel right at home. We had an amazing time together painting our pottery. Josie has a warm, cozy shop and the atmosphere there was great. We will definitely be back.

Date night and bridal shower!!! Those are the two occasions I’ve been to potter’s house. Date night: my fiancé wasn’t even going to paint, then he got some helpful ideas and really got into it! Bridal shower: OMG! This was an AWESOME event. Best shower I’ve been to (it was mine though lol) there were 22 of us. We had room to paint, and for food. Josie and Chelsea were unbelievably patient, kind, and helpful. Many people were nervous about what to make but it all came out excellent with some guidance from them! I can’t wait to see the final products: D

My husband and I were celebrating eight years of marriage and have been doing the traditional gifts each year. Since this year was ceramics, I planned a date so we could paint some pottery together. I am so glad I found The Potter’s House Studio! The owner greeted us warmly and helped get us started. I had never done anything like this before but she made it easy and fun. The place is quaint and the prices were reasonable. My husband and I really enjoyed making something together that we will have for years to come. I plan to come back with my daughter for a mommy daughter date. We truly had exceptional time and I highly recommend this place.

This is a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon! There are so many options to paint. I have no artistic ability and Im really happy how my pieces turned out and had a lot of fun :)

This is a wonderful place! Over and above the fact that they don’t charge an hourly fee, I like that it is a wonderfully social place. Josie (the owner), her staff, as well as her regular customers are so friendly! One thing that struck me is how many regulars she has, people evidently just keep coming back for more… add me to that list! Josie has a «Frequent Fire» program (LOL) for people that go there often, so she has created a warm place with many benefits available for its customers. Anywhere from discounts to great service and a great way to meet new people and enjoy the day! I’m going back again!

Came here for my girlfriends birthday party with the family. They were about 20 of us, food, drinks, painting and bday festivities! Josi was a great teacher and a very good host of pottery painting.

A wonderful cozy place to express your creative side! You pay based on what piece you select, and there is a flat sitting fee to cover paint, supplies and firing in the kiln. This is wonderful, because some pottery places charge you by the hour, the one fee covers you all day if you so choose.
It’s a relaxing activity, and a warm friendly shop. It’s perfect for unwinding or throwing a birthday party. Love, love, love this place. :)

I am so not artistic. Nevertheless, I still ended up creating a beautiful piece with the awesome & well planned execution for the talentless such as myself, courtesy of The Potter’s House Studio!
The shop itself is an adorable little gem, very comfortable, not overwhelming. Josie was amazing at explaining the process and was helpful throughout when we had questions (yes, even «dumb» ones).
The Studio features simple, yet aesthetically pleasing pieces to choose from with a wonderful array of paints to choose from.
THERE IS A DESIGN CENTER! This means you can choose from stencils of all sizes and patterns, stamp type devices to imprint designs, and best of all… a computer to search images that the studio will then image and re-​size for you on the spot to have a custom stencil for your creation!
I’ve tried painting my own wine glass, blah blah… hideous, but really I was in it for the experience. This studio raised the bar so much for me! I can make my own pieces that I will use on a daily basis that I just love…
Headed back in a few weeks, I’m hooked!
