They are painting the parking lot and there are no parking available for disable, in front of the store. I am a Disable Veteran and my wife is disable too and we were forced to move my brand new car to a further parking. Their male bathroom smell worst than an Army Latrine and I can not imagine the female bathroom, cuz they are usually worst. The restaurant in general lack of good cleaning and good management. I ask the Health Department and or the CEO’s, to do something about it. Village Inn used to be better than Deny’s Restaurant.

I have been eating here for years. A Long time ago, one of their menu choices was a breakfast skillet called The French Skillet. Chicken. Swiss cheese. Hollandaise sauce. All on top of eggs and their usual skillet veggies. Alas, they stopped serving it many years ago. You can still order it, if the server or cook knows how to make it. But now, It’s back! Now it’s called The Chicken Cordon Blue Skillet. A New name, Same great Taste! Now if they’d only bring back their Terryaki Beef mixed grill stir fry dish!

I was a little wary based on the average rating, but we had a coupon and I had heart good things about the pie. We went for breakfast. Before we got started I asked if I could order pie with dessert. Yes, and the nice waitress supported me saying«life is short» when my hubby teased me. So I got a slice of the yummy peanut butter chocolate pie to nibble on as we reviewed the menu. Hubby and I tried the ‘mlb’- a build your own.option. He had the 2-egg cheese omelette, sausage links, hash browns, and the small chicken fried steak. I had the small chicken fried steak, 2 eggs over easy, grits, and multi-grain pancakes. Both orders were quite good, with 5 stars for the hash browns, chicken fried steak, and the«appietizer». Very good experience and we look forward to returning.

This location is not the best looking and could definitely use a face lift. Don’t know if the musty smell inside clouded my judgement a bit, but the food was pretty good. I’ve had some of the regular stuff like pancakes, eggs, etc. but I wanted to try something different the last time I was there, so I picked out the orange blossom crêpe which turned out to be pretty freakin’ amazing! And as everyone knows, Village Inn is big on their pie. I am a huge fan of their french silk pie, which is just chocolate heaven! Never really had a problem with the service here, just the décor and upkeep of the restaurant can be worked on that would make it more inviting.

At first I didn’t want to try it because it seemed rather empty, but my husband had breakfast earlier and said that it was good. We were greeted by a hostess and shown to our seats immediately. Our server was very quick and got our drink order taken and served right away. Six of us ordered chicken ranch sandwich, 2 burgers, fried shrimp, fish and chips and the ½ lb. chicken fried steak. The chicken steak came with soup and I took the server’s recommendation for the tomato basil soup. I wasn’t disappointed — it tasted like pizza soup. It was a little greasy, but yummy. For dessert we got a whole pie — chocolate peanut butter, again on the server’s advice, and we’re still raving about it. I almost forgot: the coleslaw was really good too– fresh and crunchy. There are specials during the week — kids eat free on Mondays and Wednesdays, free pie on Wednesday, and Thursday is bingo night. The décor left a lot to be desired, but it was good enough. It was clean and convenient to our hotel so that we could walk. The staff was courteous and friendly. The bill for six people was $ 70, plus $ 12 for the pie, and a $ 20 tip for our server who was on point, and we took food home!

I am a big fan of VI in Virginia Beach, VA and frequent them often. This location in Tampa has the same look on the outside as the VB restaurant. Look closer however and there are differences that are not good. Upon frequenting them twice on our vacation, once at night and once during the day the difference in daylight was much more apparent. The parking lot needs a coat of asphalt in the worse way, the trash area to the back has lot of shopping carts around from some where and the doors to the dumpster are wide open and appear broke. The exterior white brick of the building needs a power washing immediately. The exterior area gravel around the side door area has cigarette butts every where that is nasty. A walk in VI and you can see the big difference is no updates in a long time. I will say it was clean and every bit as functional as the VB store. The layout was similar. The hostess was very kind smiling all the time and seated up for brunch. Few customers were in the dining room at the time. Our waitress was right on top of things and quickly got drink orders and was also very nice and chatted up my children asking them about vacation etc. Upon setting at an exterior booth I noticed wall paper pulled away from the wall again confirming this place must get an investment from the owner as I found out it’s not corporate. Food did not take long at all to come out and hit the spot for all. We took advantage of a FREE kids meal which was great on Wednesdays. My daughter and wife shared the new Truffle pie which they said was rich and delicious dark chocolate mousse. Our bill arrived quickly and again the waitress was very sweet and answered some questions about the area we had as this was the first time staying on this side of Tampa. The area is definitely urban and not the best, but not the worse hood. We walked the check up to the counter where the hostess took care of the bill. I found out they have Thursday eve bingo which is definitely a unique idea and is probably generated to boost a slow day and an older residents in the adjoining neighborhoods. When asking about a possible renovation she said it was going to start soon and be done in stages much to my relief. The service and food held up good enough grant a 3. If either one of these had slipped it would have been a 2. Maybe I am missing my own VI right now and not wanting to be too harsh… overall a fair review of Village Inn Tampa.

Nice and quiet. They have free pie Wednesdays, and bingo night Thursdays 5 – 6:30. I haven’t been to a bingo night yet but plan to with my husband just for kicks. When my husband and I had a very pleasant lunch and plan to go again soon

We went at about 1:30 p.m. yesterday. We were greeted at the front door by the manager right away. Tracy was our server — she’s excellent! My Belgian waffle and scrambled eggs were perfect. My husband had the ultimate breakfast and said his was also very good. We shared a piece of the Blackberry Bavarian Bliss pie — it was truly blissful! We will be living temporarily in this area for a few months and intend to go back for sure.

The waiter’s service was as painful as watching paint dry… However, the hostess and front desk/cashier were NICE and helpful. I enjoy the VIP menu selection.

I would definitely put this in the average category as compared to most Village Inn restaurants. However the staff on duty in the morning is quite good. Friendly attentive and willing to offer good suggestions. Price for the Tampa area is comparable to most breakfast places if in the area area, it definitely beats eating at Busch Gardens. The new country music omelet is actually quite good.

It is clean and fresh, but the food tasted a little bland. Service is prompt on most items unless it is after a certain hour when a lot of people get off of work at the exact same time.
