Don’t miss this hidden gem! Once inside Snakedance, follow signs to Hondo. The doorway is a little obscure, but once inside a full restaurant and bar await. Daily happy hour specials on food and drinks from 3−6pm and a small but tasty regular menu to suit all palates! Don’t miss the mussels appetizer. The Philly is amazing (they had me at Applewood Bacon!) and sweet potato fries are an alternative to regular fries. If you don’t clean your plate, you’re missing out! Service was exceptional while still being comfortable and casual.

This cozy, unassuming pub and restaurant is a local’s favorite. It has a beautiful fireplace and is centrally located on the plaza level near the base of lift #1. The menu is varied from BBQ pork sliders to blue corn enchiladas and an epic green chile cheeseburger. They also have an excellent draft beer selection and back bar. At night it becomes a bit fancier. The best part is the cheerful crew.

This was my favorite restaurant in Taos. I’m just disappointed that we only discovered it on our last night here. The menu was very diverse ranging from burritos to filet mignon and it was all excellent! The Hondo Restaurant is tucked away in the Snakedance Hotel but it is in the central area of TSV. The ambiance is excellent and I’m sure this is a great apres ski location. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit. Our waitress Lisa was fabulous — best service hands down on our trip!

We had a great experience at the restaurant! The food was really good and the service was exceptional. The atmosphere was very nice. It wAs a pleasant surprise and not your typical ski resort default choice. We sat by the fireplace and watched the snow fall after a great day of skiing. I had their Garlic and Parmesan French Fries and the house burger. It was great. Good selection of beer and appetizers. If you are in Taos, put it on your list!

When we arrived I was concerned about how long we might have to wait for the food because they were very busy. The manager seated us and took our drink order. In a bit the waiter brought glasses for water but never returned to fill them. Fortunately the manager noticed and essentially became our waiter. He was very friendly and made great entrée recommendations. The food was excellent.

Seriously the best après spot in all of TSV! Amazing happy hour specials start at 3 pm. While at Taos, you’ll realize that your cellphone/​data do not work well — Hondo has the most reliable wifi on the mountain and is a good place to catch up on email at the end of the day. I love it here!

Great place to grab a bite and have fun with friends after a great day of skiing or riding! Staff fun and friendly. A must try is truffle fries!
