I have been going to Darva since I was a kid, very nice items. I have a few pieces from there that I wear all the time. Great turn around time for Repairs. I have purchased a few things from there for hostess gifts that my girlfriends loved! The price point was what I was looking to spend and got beautiful kosta boda bowls for all of them.

If I could give negative stars I would. By far the worst service I’ve experienced by a jeweler. I took a gold watch to have the battery replaced, the woman helping me was short with me and rude to say the least. They returned my watch with a diamond missing and the Swiss logo inside the face of the watch had been smudged and almost completely erased. I went back to show them the damages with a photo I had taken of the watch before originally giving it to them(I highly recommend you do this if you do decide to work with Darva jewelers) and the woman said something to the effect of: I can’t take responsibility of the Swiss logo being smudged but that she will begrudgingly replace the missing diamond. It took her about 3 days and didn’t call me to keep me up to date with the process. I received no apology for having to deal with this extra process. They were HORRIBLE.

I needed to repair a bracelet which was missing a stone. Not knowing any reputable jewelry repair stores I checked Unilocal. The one existing review of Darva’s was quite positive and since the location was convenient, I decided to give it a go. My own experience, however, was quite different from the previous reviewer. I was the first and only customer of the morning(a Monday). Upon entering I was greeted right away by a woman behind the counter. I explained what I needed and she began by sitting down and entering all my personal information into the computer. I wasn’t sure if my bracelet was diamond or CZ so the woman called Raj over to check it. After waiting a minute or two while he emptied trash, he came over, but then the woman told him to wait while she continued to type in my information. Finally she gave him the bracelet and he took it over to a device across the room and said simply«no.»(That was the entirety of my interaction with him. He seemed anything but friendly). So I asked how long it would take(expecting either same day or next). I was told I could pick it up on Saturday: 5 days later. I was a bit incredulous and asked«don’t you do this here?» The woman said yes but that it needed to be «cleaned.» Leading me to ponder, what kind of cleaning were they going to do? Take each stone out and bathe it individually by hand and remount it? As I stood there trying to decide if I wanted to wait that long she then offered to have it ready by Friday. I reluctantly agreed and she printed out a receipt and handed it to me(as if «here you go, buh-bye»). I realized that she hadn’t even given me an estimate of the cost, so I inquired. She said that they’d call me later with an estimate since«the jeweler is not in on Monday.» Huh? This was a simple replacement of one tiny CZ stone, outside of whatever arduous cleaning process was needed(mind you the bracelet looked shiny and new). I wouldn’t think it would be rocket science to give me an estimate. What does that Raj do, if not that? At that point I felt very uncomfortable with this place and politely said I’d changed my mind and didn’t want to leave the bracelet after all. The woman looked at me and tossed the bracelet unceremoniously on the counter without a word. I ended up going to another place who completed the work that same day(and actually were able to provide an estimate on the spot, were very nice and showed me any repair work that was needed on a large magnifying screen.) Though I’m not the type who ever does this(so it wasn’t easy), I’m extremely happy I trusted my instincts and walked out of Darva’s.

I’ve driven past Darva Jewelers hundreds of times and finally had occasion to visit them today to get some jewelry appraisals. I met with Raj who was extremely professional and friendly. He and his staff know their stuff and have a lovely selection of jewelry on display. Raj explained the appraisal process and took pictures of my pieces of jewelry and conducted a thorough inspection of each piece. I felt that the appraisal fee was very fair. Many customers came in while I was there, picking up jewelry brought in for repair or cleaning. All of them seemed very pleased as they left the store. This is a low-key, no pressure jewelry shop and a nice place to do business.
