The original fish sandwich of the keys! I will be honest the fish sandwich is not my favorite, it’s greasy and gives you a belly bomb, but it was the first in the keys and you can’t fight history. They created the sandwich you find all over the keys now. It’s a great story and piece of keys history that you can’t miss.

The world famous fish sandwiches were outstanding. The grilled was really juicy. The crab stuffed mushrooms had cemented on cheese, so I would not recommend those. Everything was fine except the key lime pie which was really more of a key lime whipped fluff. Come on guys, we’re in the keys, let’s get some real key lime pie!

We are on vacation in the Florida, and my boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch. It’s a cute little place, and the servers are very nice. They have a huge menu for such a small restaurant! I had the spinach salad and a crab cake. The salad was huge! Tons of fresh spinach with tomatoes, bacon, mushrooms, and a hard boiled egg. Very tasty. My crab cake was disappointing, it had a strange flavor I could only take one bite. Would not recommend for almost 10 dollars. But, it’s more of a diner restaurant anyways so I’m not sure what I was expecting. Anyways, my boyfriend ordered breakfast food and really enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. I would definitely return.

Just stopped for first time! Hubby had tasty blackened dolphin(mahi mahi) sandwich on grilled whole wheat toast(he would have preferred a roll, but I didn’t check before ordered to go). Plentiful portion with crisp delicious French fries(or Cole slaw, sweet pot fries, pot salad, pasta salad or chips)! I had a really yummy scrambled egg sandwich with crisp bacon, a creamy cheese, on grilled whole wheat bread. With home fries and an excellent fresh iced tea. We will definitely return next time in the Keys!

So I ordered the clam chowder which was delicious, fresh and nice consistency. Not too thick or too watery. Had the grouper sandwich which was great. I hoped it was on a hogie bread. But all in all it was a good sandwich!

A superb fish sandwich. The grill has alot of character and you taste that in every bite. I can’t type any more, drooling on my keyboard.

I tried this restaurant on my drive through the keys. They advertise a super fish sandwich. I ordered the super fish sandwich w/fries and a key lime pie slice for dessert. The fish sandwich(which I ordered with the mahi) was superb. Piping hot and the fish was fresh tasting. The fries were good as well. The key lime pie. Wow! It was awesome. I’ve never had key lime pie that tasted so good. The service was superb as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through.

Save your money & skip the conch. I could barely chew it, it was not tender and then waaaaaay over cooked. Thank God I had a beer handy. Conch Appetizer $ 15.50 not worth it ATALL… and the beer… priceless! Would maybe try the $ 21.00 fish sandwich… but then again… plenty other places that have waterside ambience AND good fish around here! I live in Florida, you can get 21lb lobsters or 12 lb lobster for the price of a sandwich? Kinda wish I went for Mexican tonight. ;-(

I used to spend a lot more time in the Florida Keys. I was down there for business so I wasn’t always happy about it. There were a few bright spots and Craig’s was definitely one of them. I’d tell you about the fish sandwich but the billboards facing South and North on US1 will handle that.(The sandwich on the billboards is not actual size.) I prefer the sandwich blackened and I can live without the American«cheese» but man, what a sammich! My wife and daughter went with the fried fish, which is also great, but why annihilate a beautiful piece of dolphin this way? The house-made cole slaw is adequate, the french fries are what they are. The french dip was flavorful but the au jus is salty and the steak was cut too thick for my taste. These items were okay. The fish sandwich is the star! The greatest disappointment was the limited beer selection. A couple of domestics like Bud, etc. I’d rather drink water. I’d rather drink dishwater to be completely honest. I did order an Amber Bock, which, all things being equal, was the least offensive choice. It was not very cold and a little flat. Bottom line: have the sandwich and a soda. The sandwich is worth the drive from anywhere.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Having worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I find what this place did to be unacceptable and disgusting! We waited for our breakfast for over 30 minutes. When I realized that a table, which sat down about 10 mins after us, had gotten their food before us, I was a little alarmed. Then the man at the table said this isn’t the omelette I ordered. I could see him take bites of the food. The waitress took his omelette, which happened to be mine, back to the kitchen and returned with his correct one. Two minutes later our food came out. I had a feeling they didn’t remake my omelette and when I had asked the waitress she said oh they don’t take long to make, the chef remade this. I noticed there was obvious bites in the food. We confronted her again and she said well I’ll have him remake it. We even asked the man if that was the bite he took and he said yes. They never remade my food. They served the wrong plate to a table, the customer ate from the plate, they brought it back to the kitchen and reserved it to another table. GROSS! And their coffee is watered down, keep driving!

Fish is fresh and tasty. I tried both the grilled and the blackened dolphin and both were fantastic! The blackened wasn’t too spicy, just very nice seasoning. The sandwich is a solid 4 star and could be higher of not so soggy. Very flavorful, great sauces, just very juicy. Definitely worth the stop. French fries also good. Atmosphere is quaint country kitchen like so not much for atmosphere. Very limited beer selection and no craft beers, which I found disappointing.

My wife and I both had the fish sandwich with grilled dolphin(mahi mahi). It was juicy and delicious, the best fish sandwich ever. Good food takes time to cook so we didn’t mind waiting for it.

I expected a little more from a place that has a world famous fish sandwich and charges $ 18 per sandwich. Conch chowder was only ok. The to go cup size was put in a small foam coffee cup for $ 5.50. I wouldn’t even give this place a second chance.

Seems like a «place you have to go in the keys» but honsetly, it’s over priced and the staff is less than stellar. The food isn’t bad, but not good enough to make up for its short comings.

Fish sandwich for breakfast! When your in the keys, why not? The famous fish sandwich is really good. I wouldn’t call it the best, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would eat it again. I had the dolphin(fried), and was tempted to try it as grouper, which I probably will next time. Service was fast and friendly which was very nice too.

Nice little Mom and Pop… I mean, Mom and Kids restaurant. Great little stop on our way to Key West with a nice ambiance. Service was slow though as I think it was Mom and her two sons running the whole place. I could be –way– off on this, but it sure seamed that way. Super friendly though and wait wasn’t crazy long, just slow. Ok, I know you are supposed to rate restaurants based on their food as well, but we had Mac & Cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. They were Great! but we didn’t have their famous fish sandwiches so I can’t rate those.

Rented house nearby. Ended up walking here. Place has plenty of seating and decent sized bar. Menu had all kinds of food. I ordered french dip with potato salad. So good I came back the next day and ordered samething. Friend ordered burger and mentioned he loved their burger buns. Prices are decent but could be little cheaper… reason for 4 stars. Lot people were eating here so food is fresh…

How can anyone give this place less than 5 stars? I will admit, it is not the best ambience in the keys, but it sure is the best fish sandwich in the keys. I will also admit that I ordered it take out, and not with standard preparation, but it was still the best fish sandwich I have had. Here is what I did. I got the famous super fish sandwich that comes on whole wheat toast with a special delicious tartar sauce and sliced tomatoes. With blackened grouper, as opposed to fried snapper or catfish. I can see where people might think that the cost of $ 17.95(or more if prepared the way I did), is a bit steep. But I don’t put a price on extremely fresh and over the top delicious fish sandwiches. So for me, this was a five star sandwich, and well deserving of its fame for the best fish sandwich in the keys.

I wish I can be one of the raving folks that sings high praises to the«infamous/famous fish sandwich» … but dear me, oh dear, I must say it was less than okay … SERVICEWASHORRIBLE. I dont know what was going on, but it was not busy at all and I had to yell across and pretty much gave everyone a mini heart attack after we went unserved for 20 minutes — no drinks, no servers, and not even a hello. I felt so unwelcomed because I KNOW the servers saw us walk in, but we went for that long without even being greeted. Then, the food comes and for the price that they ask and the quality of the food they serve, it is not justified. We had the fish sandwhich and chicken tenders, and I do firmly believe that those chicken tenders came out straight from a frozen dinner bag. P.U. Fries were borderline acceptable, nothing was as promised via the hoards and hoards of billboard telling you this place is pretty much the bomb diggity — nope. The fish sandwich, although good, is a damn lie. LOL. We had the dolphin fish sandwich, and it is really not anything spectacular. I mean, we were tourists passing by and we went specifically for the fish sandwich and was left disappointed. Now, we had three other gentleman on the next table and they all ordered some kind of sandwich and I heard them complain up to high heavens how it is highway robbery — poor guys — they were in shock. Anyway, I really wanted to like this place since so many people seemed to really love the place and the fish sandwich, but based on our expeirence, it was a MEH — I have a feeling this place is more like a hit or miss …
