Blast from the past! We came here because we needed to escape the traffic jam that was happening on Main Street in Taylor Falls and our bellies were grumbling for some good food. We found that satisfaction in the Drive In’s delicious burgers, fries, and cold drinks! I re-discovered the famous Frisco Burger here. If you don’t know what a Frisco Burger is, it is a delicious combo of Swiss cheese, tomato, mayo, lettuce, and a burger all on grilled sourdough bread. Super tasty. And don’t forget about their soft drinks. Their Homemade Root Beer served in a frosty glass mug is out of this world and don’t pass up on the custom made Vanilla Coke, if you like Vanilla Coke, this is like the kings of Vanilla Coke. People in the 1950’s knew how to actually enjoy their bad-for-you food! The food here is comfort Americana and it is done very well for being a small drive-in diner. It isn’t greasy, it isn’t fast food, it is locally sourced comfort food cooked with love. The location is right next to a mini golf course and so you can make it a family outing. They are also only a mile away from Interstate National Park and the famous potholes off of the St. Croix River. It gets busy during the weekends, so be prepared to wait for a table. But hey, that’s a good thing because then that means their are good at what they do!

Fun place to get lunch while checking out Taylor’s Falls. Delicious Malts and chicken strips are huge and delicious– I got the dinner but should have had the kids meal version as dinner was too much. Try the homemade orange soda. I prefer to eat in the car and let families take the outdoor seating, plus I love the car hop situation. Service has been consistently great.

Good food. Good prices. Fast service. The root beer was very good in a frosty mug. They have mini golf. The mushroom and Swiss patty melt was just what I was looking for. The fried pickles were good too. We would come back the next time we are in town.

Great burgers, malts and root beer. Everything is great including the pickle spear. Saw this place on the way to the Wild Mountain water park, with its rotating root beer sign. Stopped there on the way home and it did not disappoint. The burger patty was juicy and not over cooked. The buns are hand cut and baked locally. I ordered a malt which was great(save $.50 by asking for a paper cup). My son had their root beer which has a good spicy bite. Even the pickle spear that came with my basket tasted great.

I was here last week for my birthday. I ordered à turkey burger which was made fresh and not frozen. It was topped with lettuce, tomato and mayo. My son Aidan and his friend had Bacon Cheeseburgers and we all shared waffle fries. They also had frosty rootbeer. The reason for 4⁄5 is we wanted à table and sat at an uncleaned outdoor table. They literally had 3 waitresses and it was busy. We waited awhile for service. My coleslaw also came without à spoon, fork or spork. The food was good but service could be better.

Exactly what you hope for! There own root beer that tastes great. Hand packed burgers that taste good. Crinkle cut fries to go with your classic meal. Servers are in throw back outfits and they play hits from the era to complete the atmosphere.

Classic theme, however, they always mess up a little something-something in our order.

Go back in time! Haven’t been to a real drive-in since A&W when I was a kid. Felt like I was on the set of Happy Days! Music was 50’s. Loved it! And yes, the girls wear poodle skirts. The rotating giant root beer mug caught our eye driving by. Had the salmon burger, which was small, but tasty. The white bun was super soft. The sweet potato fries were yummy. Will go back to try the veggie burger and root beer float next time. The memorable experience eating here is priceless. Right behind the restaurant is an adorable mini golf course. Looks like you can get a pass with the kid’s meal. Also on my summer to-do list.

The mozzarella sticks were amazing, which isn’t a thing I ever thought I’d type. Unlike any frozen and then fried food you’ll get when you order this item elsewhere, these were a star of the show and not just a greasy afterthought. Stopped in on a rainy day on our way to Wild River State Park. The food was great and our server was quite helpful with our few questions. I had the bison burger, which was cooked perfectly – bison, which is a very lean meat, cannot be cooked to well-done or it will be incredibly dry and that’s a mistake that happens a little too often in Minneapolis. Here the meat was just right. Fries and shake were fine. If you like vanilla shakes, I’d recommend getting something else – it was more like«plain» rather than«vanilla» and you’ll understand the difference if you’re a lover of vanilla. If management reads this, you could solve this problem easily by including vanilla bean in the shake. Will definitely recommend

The Drive-in rocks. We are so happy that they’ve opened again for the season. The burgers are slow food. They make everything to order. So, it does take a bit to get your food. Believe me when I say it is well worth the wait. They also have a super veg sandwich that my daughters love. Hang in your car or at one of the tables. It’s all good.

Do not miss. Handmade food that harkens back to another era. Soft hand cut buns. Juicy burgers. Hot crispy onion rings and killer root beer floats. A little pricey fora burger joint but worth it! This will be a must stop anytime you pass through Taylor Falls. Ahhh and an amazing staff! Our car hop was super sweet!
