This place is ok. I was expecting a bigger greek menu but it is mostly Italian. The food was decent as well as the service. If your looking for good mediterranean place try the Pita Grille much better. I did not try the Italian so I can’t comment there.

Mythos is one of a few Greek /Italian restaurants here in the Upstate of South Carolina. It’s a nice place with friendly service. The food is very good, lots of it, and at a good price. Yesterday my wife and I stopped for lunch. I had their Veal Parmesan. It was really delicious, their meat sauce is tasty, and I ended up taking half of it home because the serving size was enormous. My wife had their Gyros. It’s carved off the spit and she said it was great. We didn’t have a desert, but as usual in Greek restaurants, they are displayed in a glass case in front. They look great. This is becoming a regular go to place for us.

Yum. We really enjoyed this restaurant. It’s definitely a family place. Not too fancy and super friendly to our little guy. I got spaghetti with marinara which was good. The sauce was a bit too chunky and not very saucy, but good. My husband had a chicken dish smothered in what he described as spinach artichoke dip. He loved it. Salads and bread were good and so was our appetizer. We’ll definitely go back.

Beware of the large banner above the front door that states that on Wednesdays, kids eat for $ 1.99. My granddaughter had the chicken fingers off the kids menu. Only when paying the bill did the cashier inform me that the special is for spaghetti only. Huh? That is not explained anywhere in the restaurant or on the sign. False advertising!

Karen and I love Mythos and visit it often. It’s a family run affair with many wait staff who have been with the restaurant for years. Friendly southern service. Want an extra lemon slice with the water or tea? Ya got it. Service is prompt, courteous and special requests are no problem. I wanted a grilled chicken breast with the Greek salad. I got it. The Greek salad is a favorite with both of us. All of the vegetables are extremely fresh and crisp! Eating it is like being lost in a lush garden. I recommend the fantastic house dressing. Too bad they don’t bottle it to take home. Pasta dishes cater to the cheese lover. Many of them come topped with melted, slightly browned cheese(the pasta, not the cheese lover). Wonderful pizzas too. The garlic and cheese is great, and you’ll find all the traditional toppings of sausage, pepperoni, etc. available. Atmosphere is quiet and neighborly. It’s frequented by many locals. There is a cooler at the cash register station to temp you with deserts to take home. I believe Mrs. Mythos(not her real name) makes most of them in house. There is always a big variety and all are excellent. Take home a slice of baklava cheesecake or a cannoli. Then come back for more Greek and Italian comfort food.

Had the soup of the day and was GREAT, was pasta fagioli with a twist, had meat on it, as I say was just right for the weather and for my stomach.

We ate at Mythos in the past and it was pretty good. The food today was so disappointing that we will not go back. My husband had the gyro platter — the meat was dry and the fries was undercooked and soggy. My soulvaki sandwich was so soggy, it was not possible to pick it up to eat it. I may have overlooked it if tasted good but unfortunately that was not the case. Will not go back.

We got the greek combination platter and a pizza. It was a good choice for a noobie greek food eater. My favorite was the pizza(but to be fair, I tend to stick with safety foods rather than branch out). The sauce was sweeter than what I typically like, but with the toppings it balanced well. The combination platter gave us a great chance to try out traditional greek dishes without committing to one thing that we were unsure of. The house salad dressing is fabulous, and that says a lot coming from a ranch dressing expert! This was a great change of pace. The customer service was great!

Been here twice. The first time we came by, we waited 15 minutes for the hostess to appear. Someone in the kitchen saw us but ignored us completely, not even an acknowledgement. We left without eating. The second time we ordered take out. I was shocked at how oily the gyro was. When I picked it up to eat, grease dripped from the bread. Revolting. The flavor was okay. I’ve had better gyros just down the same street. Two stars for an average meal.

I ate here yesterday for the first time, great restaurant, I understand that they just reopened and food was great, menu selection was larger than I thought it would be and nice people working there. I was hungry so had every intention of leaving with leftovers, ordered hummus, pastitsio for my meal, and a pizza, yep, I was hungry. I had a slice of pizza and planned on bringing the rest home, the pizza was very very good, the crust was good, cheese and sauce layout was perfecto(i used to make pizzas), I ordered the pastitsio on the restaurants recommendation, I have never had it before and wasnt sure what it was. It was great, came with a nice salad and ate all of it where I could not eat any more pizza before leaving, which is unusual for me(trust me I ate later that night), anyway, great place, great menu and great value. Highly recommended.

I was going to give this place two stars. But, while thinking it over, I decided I never really want to go back. So one star it gets. We came in during lunch. Place looks nice. Good booths all around. Nice surroundings. The lunch menu has decent prices and comes with a drink. The girl who sat us, asked what we wanted to drink and told us it was included. So we each got a tea. But the gyro wasn’t on the lunch menu. So we each had to pay $ 10 for a gyro off the regular menu. While lunch seems to come with a salad and drink around $ 6. Ordering a gyro from the dinner menu gets you jack. Nothing comes with it. My friend orders theirs without tomatoes because of an allergy. I specify I would like mine WITH tomatoes and even that I would take extra. So we wait. We waited almost twenty minutes for lunch. It was taking so long, we almost left. When our meal gets to the table… its a pita laying flat on a plate. There’s what must be a gyro«patty» — imagine a hamburger patty sliced in half so you can make it fit a hot dog bun… but with gyro spices. Then its topped with two cups of shredded lettuce and some onion slices. We get a tiny cup of cucumber yogurt. This meal was a joke. We are talking maybe 2oz of meat. And neither has tomatoes. I ask if I can get my tomatoes and she offers to take my plate back… but by now I’ve waited for thirty minutes and I’m not giving her my plate for lord knows how much longer. This place was a joke. It’s a joke on people here in the south who have no idea what authentic food tastes like. I’ll never be back. It was a darn near $ 30 lunch I wouldn’t have paid $ 15 for and I get angry every time I drive by their location. This place sucks.

We wanted pizza from a local place instead of a chain. We did carryout and were very happy with the food — the mediterranean pizza has gyros meat and the deluxe was super loaded. A large greek salad easily fed four of us.
