I want to give this place 5 stars for being a plucky underdog, except that it’s not as good as other places I know. But it’s still pretty darn good. The dining room is clean, quiet, and nicely decorated, service is attentive, and the menu has plenty to choose from. I’m sad that they dropped their sushi menu, but then again, sushi isn’t a vital element of Chinese cuisine, so I’m glad they’re focusing on their core competencies. Some of the more notable things here are the paper wrap chicken, hot sour soup, egg foo yung, S&S pork, kung pao chicken, and lemon prawn. Delivery can be spooky fast, they’re at your door almost before you hang up. Unfortunately, this restaurant is located poorly, I’ve seen several businesses try and fail at this location due to the awkwardness of the lot and street entrance. If you’re thinking about Ming’s, please don’t pass this place by just because it involves a couple of(legal) U-turns.

Extremely affordable, and delicious Chinese Food! I was in a hurry when I arrived, and they sat me down immediately. Before I could finish my soup the food was brought to me! I got the General Tso’s chicken, and it was great! They have quick service, very affordable, and friendly waiters. I would recommend all to try it if you’re in the Taylorsville area!

Place is really nice and clean. Waiter was really friendly. Reason I gave a 3 because the orange chicken tastes Horrible, it had a bad after taste. But everything else tasted OK. not somewhere I would go again but it’s good to try new things.

I live within walking distance of Ming’s and was stoked to have a Chinese place with such good reviews nearby. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed my first go. Everything was very bland and tasted as if the oil in the fry machine had not been changed in years. I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken. It was nothing like any General Tso’s that I’ve had. Poorly breaded, very bland, and not spicy at all. On a spicy scale of 1 – 10, I would give it a zero. The menu misspelled«Tso» as «Tao.» Maybe that was intentional and I was eating some other weaker general’s chicken. My wife ordered a noodle dish. It was also very bland. And the noodle had the look and texture of American Beauty spaghetti from the grocery store down the street. I gave it two stars instead of one because the service was pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was quiet and neatly decorated. But if the food does not improve significantly, I will not be back.

Huge portions, good prices, hit and miss Westernized Chinese flavors. General Tao’s chicken is spicy and sweet, good flavor and easily their best dish. Orange chicken is too plain here for my liking. Sweet and sour sauce is watery here. Lo Mein is done cheaply, nothing special, brown sauce on it makes everything taste the same(salty, savory). But it could easily feed three people. Décor is modern, dining room is clean. Service isn’t the friendliest, but they are attentive. It’s too bad people just don’t frequent this location, as it is empty most of the time. I come back for the General Tao’s but not much else. 3.5 stars.

I love the food here. This is possibly the best fried rice I have had in the valley. Sadly I think this store isn’t getting a lot of business because of location, but if you are thinking about giving them a try, I highly suggest it. One of my favorites is the General Tao’s chicken. Very sweet and a good amount of spice. I am also a huge fan of their curried chicken. NOM!

My boyfriend and I order some food here for delivery. If anyone knows me, I love my wonton soup even if it’s bland or has no flavor. I order it and I loved it. I had a little bit of sweetness in it as well. I also ordered with my combo Chow Mein and it was good plus they’re lemon chicken! I honestly don’t remember what my boyfriend ordered. I can say I will like to go eat there one day instead of calling for delivery. haha.

I love the food and service. It’s hard to find good Chinese food these days but this is the place to be for good eating. I have the nicest waiters and the cooks are very nice and put a lot of work to there food. I’m surprised that this place is always pretty vacant. I hope they never close. All in all 5 star Chinese food :)

This place used to be located where Hon Hong’s in Millcreek is back in the day and I would go there alllll the time for the lunch special. I am soooo glad I found it again. This place is delicious. The food is always really good. I once drove from south Provo just to go here because I like it so much.

I ordered the general Tao chicken. Honestly I thought it was going to be tso chicken. They don’t serve General tso unfortunately. But Tao was good. The take out service was really quick. Only waited for 3 minutes. Price is average. 9 bucks for a dinner entrees.

We are new to Salt Lake Valley and just found this restaurant, what a great surprise! The food was great, good prices, service was fast and friendly, it was well maintained. We ordered family style and the portions were very good size. Honey Walnut Prawns, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, BBQ Pork Egg Foo Young, Chicken Chow Mein. Soup was really good as well. We will definitely be eating here again. We enjoyed our dinner.

Great lunch prices, and the quantity of food is great. The flavor, however, certainly needs improvement. I chose egg flower soup(bland), BBQ ribs and snow peas(loved the amount of veg and sliced meat, but lacking flavor), fried rice(two tiny bits of ham for a lot of rice that had no flavor at all), egg roll(decent if it wasn’t so greasy… Couldn’t finish). We were served promptly with our food. The service was good. The amount of food was good. The quality, had anything been seasoned, was good. We won’t, however, be rushing back.

We were in the area ordering something from Tay Do when we chanced upon Ming’s Garden. The place is really nice and from what it looks like it’s a family business. We saw a kid setting up tables after customers and he’s quite busy and lovin’ what he do. We ordered several items from the menu, namely, Hot and Sour soup, Rock Cod in black bean sauce, Mixed Vegetables, Kung Pao Tofu and Pork Chop with Spicy Salt. The Hot and Sour soup taste different in the sense it’s in a little sweet. I’m used to the sour taste and I guess that’s why they called it Hot and Sour soup. This is a first for us. Both the mixed vegetables and rock cod dishes looked and tasted almost the same. We were assuming that the mixed vegetables will be in white sauce but it still had soy sauce and had it not for the black beans, the two would have been the same. From the five dishes we ordered, only the Kung Pao Tofu and Pork Chop with Spicy Salt tasted great and original. The tofu complemented the pork chop in the sense they were like yin and yan. We really love them both. Reading from the review, it looks like lunch is their specialty. Too bad, we came for dinner.

When they were renovating the building, I was overjoyed to see that they deliver. Love the 5.99 and 6.99 lunch specials(over 30 entrées!), including Egg Drop or Hot & Sour Soup, Egg Roll or Paper Wrapped Chicken, and Fried or Steamed Rice. The decorating choices work well and the fish and lotus blossom motif glass dividers are lovely. The shiny new tables are great, but I wish they wouldn’t spray Windex when bussing them – the scent of ammonia wafted across the restaurant and interfered with the delicious smells, my appetite, and breathing. Both the servers working today were polite and helpful. The parking situation is a bit unfortunate – small lot makes it easy to get in, a little tricky to get out. Oh – and they don’t use MSG. My Cashew Nut Chicken had large chunks of vegetables(delicious carrots, zucchini, and celery), plenty of meat, and a flavorful sauce. No veggies in the fried rice, but it was OK with the ham and a few pieces of egg. Mom had Prawns with Scrambled Eggs, an unusual meal which she enjoyed. Prawns tasted fresh. The 20% Grand Opening discount was appreciated! I’m sure we’ll return, and I”ll be ordering delivery when I can talk Mr. H into Chinese.

I’m new to the SLC area and kinda stick to places close to my home for now, i passed by this Chinese restaurant when looking for a quick lunch spot, the banner outside said they were having a grand opening special of 20% all menu items. i tried the sesame chicken lunch combo which came with your choice of hot and sour or egg flower soup along with fried won tons w/sweet and sour sauce. the combo included your choice of fried rice or steamed rice and either an eggroll or paper wrapped chicken all for 5.95 prior to discount applied!!! My boyfriend got the sweet and sour pork combo. we both were pleased! after two combos @ 5.95 each along with hot tea service and a soda our total came to just $ 12 bucks! way cheaper than any fast food place and we were in and out within 45 mins! the owners were prompt and very sweet and answered any questions we had about the menu… they cater and offer a very extensive dinner menu as well as sushi, i can’t wait to come back and try those out!
