Only place for a beer, which are cold and welcomed in summer motorcycling around Tellico Plains. Air conditioner was barley keeping place cooler than outside, self seating which is unclear along with mismatched lawn furniture as seating, but cold beer was worth overlooking other stuff. The menu is basically all fried food that is hit or miss, the 1st time we went & food was ok(not really other choices) but satisfying next 2 times(this is over 2 year period) food was greasy & an order of $ 4 French fries got us about 18 fries(no joke we counted…) the waitress recommended ordering 2 orders for 1 person. Place could be s gold mine if they did it right

Great feel to the place but the food was undesirable to say the least. Good cold beer.

Well, a key selling feature of this place(which, apparently, is also known as «The Outpost»?) is that it’s the only place in Tellico Plains that serves beer — and a good selection of beer including some craft offerings. My friend and I arrived in Tellico Plains after a long day of motorcycling and got checked into our(awesome) lodgings when our host directed to the Crab Trab. I had a good feed of fried catfish and a great crab cake. My buddy went with the pulled pork and was duly impressed as well. I didn’t get the name of our server, but she was great — friendly as you’d expect, and laughed at all our stupid jokes too. Given that Tellico Plains sits at the end of a great motorcycle ride, I imagine I’ll be back again.

The fact that the parking spots were empty on a weekend, should’ve been a red flag but there were beer signs that lured us. We stepped to the«bar» and ordered a $ 14 pitcher of the local IPA from the bartender. The waitress awkwardly waited behind us to the point that we decided to let her seat us. We decided to split the Fishermen’s Platter, $ 17 for your of 3 options from the $ 11 seafood options. I chose crap cake(yes, it only came with one), fried scallops and clam strips. The fried scallops were horrible! Everything tasted overcooked, and as if the grease they were fried in was old. The whole platter was brought out in a styrofoam box that was melted in spots because they placed the hot fried food directly in the box, no wax paper or aluminum lining. And then there was the hair that I found, I mentioned both the hair and the melted styrofoam to the waitress and she said«I’ll tell her». She then brought out the check, not so much as I’m sorry, can I replace or exchange what you didn’t eat” nothing. Oh yeah, I lied, she said«would you like a soda for the road, I won’t charge you?» That was kind of nice but we were on a motorcycle so that wasn’t an option. I overheard the bartender calling who was apparently the owner and explaining that they were dead and only two customers has been there for hours and asked if she could close early. So, if you insist on checking this place out, you may want to call and make sure they’re not closed.
