I really like to support small businesses and unique boutiques but I especially like to find that something special… that rare find that I have never seen somewhere else. Everyone needs a niche. Dining nearby I finally got the chance to visit Shop Girl. First off, I love the name. It reminds me of the movie with Claire Danes and Steve Martin. Second, I love the décor… I love silhouettes… the husband and I had some made for our business plans this year. Lastly, the environment is inviting, the shop carries lovely jewelry, women’s apparel, designer flip flops, candles and other giftables! My find of the day was from the Studio Penny Lane collection… I picked up a unique item from this line. The owner was very friendly and helpful and had stories about the artists and makers that make up the in-store collections. I appreciate her style and knowledge. I look forward to returning — even the bags are adorable…

When you walk into this little boutique, it’s a feast for the senses. Each time I’ve stopped in, there have been new displays tucked here and there — the owner has a great eye and clearly knows what she’s doing. Everything is high quality and unique, and even if you buy only one item for $ 10 you feel like you’ve found a treasure. The staff is welcoming and professional without hovering or trying to push a sale. They treat you just as warmly whether you spend zero or $ 500. So happy this place has come to town!

This store sold over $ 1500 of merchandise to our daughter. Unfortunately at the time my daughter was in a bipolar psychosis at the time. We attempted to return the totally unused items 17 days later but the store owner would not do that for us. Warning: store has a strict no return policy; exchanges only within 3 days. The owner was not very sympathetic to our heartbreaking situation. I sense that the store is going out of business and is in desperate financial state. The owner threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave the store while we were being verypolite. I mean who does that?
