Me and my love this place! I like the old feel and the food is good. You have options!

My girlfriend was wanting a place to get pancakes at a place that was low key and not overly priced. She used Unilocal to find a place near by. This was the first time we visited. I use a scoring system that is based off a 1 – 5 scale with a 3 meeting expectations. I do a category score for the food, staff, and venue. The total average score is reflected in the Unilocal review stars TOTALSCORE-3.35 FOOD-3.3 5-Service /Speed 3.5-Overall Taste 2-Plating /Look 4-Menu Variety 2-Cost STAFF-4 4.5-Attentiveness 3-Look 4-Friendliness 4.5-Menu knowledge VENUE-2.75 2-Atmosphere 3-Cleanliness 3-Location 3-Feel

Yummy homemade blueberry muffins are a must. With a table of 8, service was on point and our food came out pretty quickly. The J. Sullivan had a perfect amount of corned beef hash and was delicious. The size of the pancakes were generous as well.

My family and I really enjoyed our food. We had the bacon waffles, corn beef hash omelette, French toast, grilled ham and cheese sandwich and the pancakes. Food was great! The blueberry muffins are a must get. They were delicious! Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast/brunch.

We were looking for a local«hole in the wall» and this place delivered! Platters of food at a good price. We were stuffed. The bacon was amazing-thick and crispy!

It was ok. I wouldn’t order the eggs benedict again… the hollandaise looked like clumpy snot and tasted strongly of fake lemons. The general breakfast fare looked ok. I really wouldn’t care that the waitresses appeared to be hired for how good they looked in their yoga pants had they been nice. The mostly ignored anyone they couldn’t flirt with and were a bit rude.

WARNING: When you walk into Harlow’s be warned that you aren’t really in the ASU campus area as once you look at the menu prices you will realize you are in midtown Manhattan.

Harlow’s is a staple from my ASU days. Went back last week for the first time in almost a decade and they are still the best breakfast in the Valley. The biscuits and gravy, chipped beef, etc. are all very good. But go for the Mexican breakfasts on the menu. The huevos rancheros is the standard bearer, and possibly my favorite breakfast ever. The refried beans are like Grandma’s. Go with poached eggs and put that tortilla to some good use.

The hash browns weren’t the way I like them, but who cares about the food. The waitresses all wear yoga pants. 5 stars!

Harlows is by far one of my favorite breakfast places in Arizona. They have very speedy service and traditional American breakfast, and even some Mexican options that are very good. I come here at least once a week, if not 2 – 3 times a week. The entire staff is very friendly and solid at their job. Hands down best potatoes for a breakfast place. Harlows has been around for a long time and it shows in their décor, which always reminds me of my grandmas house :) I would recommend the traditional breakfast(eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage and toast). Don’t pass up on this wonderful gem.

Very very good! They are normally always busy but I never have to wait long. The servers are great and the food is amazing. I have taken numerous people here and I have never heard any complaints.

It looks like a little whole in the wall café, but it’s definitely one to visit. The café didn’t look busy from the outside, but the inside was full of people. It had a great homey atmosphere. I ordered the plain tradition eggs and bacon with biscuits. It was phenomenal. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The bacon wasn’t cheap bacon you get at other restaurants, it was the good thick flavorful bacon. The biscuits were amazing and fluffy. Don’t get me started on their potatoes. Best potatoes I’ve ever had. Amazing place! I will definitely be back!

Big portions,(suggest sharing a plate). Good service. Neat place for everyone and anyone for breakfast and lunch. Closed for dinner. Bill was $ 35 for two breakfasts, 2 coffees and side of hash browns.

Slightly hungover and needing something to soak up the alcohol, my lil bro and I walked to Harlow’s from our hotel. Chorizo burrito burro and coffee were just the things to get the job done! I loved the homemade salsa that came with the burrito. It had the perfect amount of spice. There were a lot of other things on the item that I would try if I were to return! The ambiance was also great — this place could definitely be featured on DDD.

Plenty of food coupled w/fast/friendly service makes this place worth the stop. I tried the biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns — healthy heart fo sho! Half order of biscuits and gravy took up a dinner plate, as did the side of hash browns, and i could only eat half of each. As for the taste, i found the gravy a little on the bland side, and the biscuits were about the same. Potatoes were pretty good, kind of a cross between hash browns and home fries. Eggs and sausage were alright. Server was cheerful and buzzing about, making sure refills and requests were met. Lastly, a good-sized crowd by 0715 on a Saturday. All in all, a decent bfast. Cheers! I visited Harlow’s Café during a trip to Arizona. It’s located on a big, wide street(…which seems to be typical of Arizona). The inside of the restaurant is all wood, so it feels very rustic. Harlow’s Café serves breakfast all day. After looking through the menu, I decided to go for Big Buff. I think this is a gluten-free option. You get a choice between grilled chicken or burger patty, cottage cheese, tomatoes, and hard-boiled egg. An excellent meal for those looking to add more protein to their diet! I got the grilled chicken, and the meal was served within 20 minutes of ordering. The grilled chicken was one of the most juiciest piece of chicken I have ever tasted. The full-fat cottage cheese is rich and creamy with the right amount of curdiness. The tomato slices are fresh. I wanted the egg yolk to be running all over the chicken and cottage cheese, so asked for poached egg instead of hard-boiled egg. The egg was too overcooked the first time, so when I asked the waitress, she gladly gave me another poached egg — this time cooked perfectly runny.

We were sat fairly quickly considering the fact that it was a Saturday morning and the place looked crowded. The space we sat on was a little small so be expected to be cramped in as the café is tiny. The food was decent but I got the eggs and canadian bacon so typical breakfast plate. Overall, ok price, ok presentation but the service is quick which is great! My first time at Harlow was not that great as I ordered food I did not like but this second time around, I liked it much better.

A good find. Dropped in on a Sunday and knew I was going to like it right away. Good crowd, from the loner elderly man to the families, to the younger college types. The selection is great, the prices are right(a little note on that later) and the ambiance is… cute. I hate saying cute, but it’s cute. The service is fast and polite. As for food, great. I got the creamed chipped beef and was super happy. The one bad was I got a fried egg for the top and it punched 2.75 on to my bill… which is ridiculous. Almost 3 bucks for one egg? Was it a unicorn egg? All in all, stick to the menu and you’re golden. I’ll be back. :)

A group of us went here Sunday after a Unilocal event at Sea Life. Parking is really bad. We were told a 20 minute wait for a party of 8 and that was pretty much spot on. Judging by the crowd outside I was surprised it was not longer. Service was pretty quick except for one breakfast. I had a grilled cheese with tomato and bacon with a side salad. The food is basic diner fare done right but nothing that will wow you. I would say 3−½ stars but rounded up in this case. If I was in the area I would not hesitate to go here again.

Harlow’s and me go way back. OK, well, if you consider the mid to late ‘90s «way back!» when I was more convenient to Tempe. It seemed only natural though, that when we’d done the half marathon this past January… let’s go back to Harlow’s. I like that they have been in the Valley for a long time, family-owned and that they make many items from scratch daily. I like that the food comes fast and hot and that the server, though really slammed on a Sunday morning, still takes the time to chat with you. I like that, when you realize you did a credit card and cash dump(for the race) and you only have a American Express(they take on V and MC) and a $ 20, that the hostess knows how to handle the situation without making you feel like an idiot.(Because she knows you already do!) Thanks, Harlow’s, for being a class act… like your namesake.
