I have never seen before a Mexican Restaurant full of White & Asian people… it was awkward to be the only Latino LOL… The restaurant is kinda small & rustic. They have a sitting area in the entrance and You have to park in the street. They don’t have a private parking lot so good luck with finding parking in the street. Be awarded of the time because Temple City Police Officers hands are so itchy to write tickets LOL and no, I’m not kidding I KNOWBYOWNEXPERIENCE. About the food… complementary chips and salsa are given. Although the salsa didn’t taste fresh to me. It was blended and no flavor at all. I ordered a mango margarita for $ 6 and it was okay. I also had the molcajate… kinda spicy… good for two people. I only found like 2 small pieces of the chorizo mmmmeh but it’s wasn’t that bad but maybe not worth to pay $ 16.99 for it. Good customer service. Btw, they didn’t have the A/C on only fans so it wasn’t very pleasant to be there especially with this heat *~*

Crispy tacos were delicious! Mine came with sides of beans and rice! Salsa was good with chips but not in the burrito or tacos. My husband’s burrito was huge and he liked it too! Will come back again! Ate with orange bang! Delicious!

Great food. We tried the Enmolada, like an enchilada but mole instead of the red Chile, great sweet taste. Javier was very attentive and anticipated our needs. Great for breakfast, we’ll be returning for lunch next time.

This place is now my go-to restaurant when I’m craving Mexican cuisine. Dollar for dollar El Ruizenor Grill serves some of the best value in all of Temple City. I regret not coming here earlier in the years that I have lived in this city. Their carnitas tacos are quite possibly the best that I’ve had. I LIVEFORTUESDAYSNOWTHANKSTOYOU. Some people after a long day of work go to a bar and crack an ice cold beer. I order $ 20 of tacos on Tuesday and gorge myself like a shameless fatass. Mas on the sauce por favor. 10⁄10 would eat with rice.

Food is still good. Prices did go up though. Tacos are up from $ 1.95 to $ 2.09. Burrito are up from $ 6.59 to $ 6.99. Shredded Beef Burrito — $ 6.99 — Beef was tender and seasoned well. I like it way more then the carne asada. My new go to meat here. Shredded Beef Hard Taco — $ 2.09 — Again, love the shredded beef. Fresh hard taco with perfect crunch. Typical taco toppings. Roger — $ 9.99 — Huge burrito. Almost double the normal burrito in weight and size. Comes with a blend of carne asada, chicken, and carnitas. I thought the combo was to much going on, could not taste one specific meat flavor and it got overwhelming. Good burrito though. No rice like the regular burrito. Got half red and green sauce, both were good, I prefer the normal red and green sauces they have, these were different.

Omg! Best tacos I’ve had yet. Very clean restaurant. Even the bathroom! And the waitress in the front was so nice and attentive. I’m not from this area but I know I definitely will be coming here as often as I can.

Two words: Taco Tuesday. 99 cent tacos every Tues, with the choices of meats: chicken, carne asada, al pastor, and shredded beef. The tacos here are on the leaner side, meaning less oily, meaning I felt a little better about myself for skipping the gym that night. This is a great local Mexican restaurant with an emphasis on Oaxacan food and culture. I was craving Mexican food for dinner, more specifically enchiladas, and came across this place. What caught my attention about this place was the picture of a massive burrito the width and length of a forearm. I was ready to try it, but BF was being a diva about being sick, so it was no go.(Why do guys act like the biggest babies when they’re sick??!) I was left ogling the other table’s order of the Big Daddy burrito. I ordered my enchiladas, with half red and half green sauce. It came with a side of red rice and mixed veggies. The green sauce was my fav, it was sour and very citrus-y. Minus one star because my enchiladas were cold when it got to the table. Street parking is in front of the restaurant. The inside is clean and well-kept. The service was superb, the staff is friendly and accomodating. Can I say though. To this day, I still have to get my enchilada fix.

Super fries were pretty good and I like their carne asada. The Roger burrito was okay it wasn’t as hot as I’d like. The chili was already getting cold as it got to the table. But on a better note, the portions are HUGE.

NYE Tried Horchata for the first time here. Not impressed by the first sip but impressed by the last – twas good and I am now a convert. Don’t have other places to compare. Also ordered 2 asada soft tacos and meat was… a bit dry. Was here NYE lunch time so customer traffic was low. My guess is that they prepared some meat and it was cooked and re-cooked, or it could have simply have been overcooked in one sitting. Came out to some odd number ~$ 1.25/taco. Not sure. Very nice staff.

This place is a little hidden gem! I ordered 4 of their $ 0.99 tacos, and they hit the spot. My favorite was definitely the al pastor. On top of the good food, the service was incredible! We were checked on several times during our 20 minute meal, and the employees(probably the owners) were so caring and intuitive– my water glass never dropped past half empty. A cute little place. Definitely check out Taco Tuesdays!

El Ruizeñor is a fairly small Mexican restaurant in Temple City. It is pretty easy to find since it is along the main road. Because they are pretty close to my work, we always order for delivery. We usually order their chile verde or chicken super fries. I’m also a fan of their fish burrito. They have a lot of dishes to chose from and all the ones I have tried were very delicious and well made. I love how you can substitute beans for potato in your burritos. Their desserts are pretty bomb, too. I can’t wait to try their other dishes. Their prices are very cheap and affordable and they give a big portion of food. If you’re craving Mexican food around this area, you should definitely check this place out!

Monster size tacos with a lot of flavor. I came in for a quick bite to go. The guys were really nice and I chatted with them for a while since their credit card machine was down. Their shrimp tacos were bomb. Breaded shrimp along with lettuce and tomatoes. I also tried their carne asada and al pastor tacos. Shrimp were the best. The hard asada tacos were really tasty as well. The décor was nice as they were all decked out for Halloween/Dia de los Muertos. It’s a small place but cozy feeling. I’d come back to have a few beers with my tacos next time. Really cheap eats and great portion sizes.

I came here twice before and I can’t wait to go back. The first time I went, it was with a few friends for my Spanish project. We had to film us ordering and talking about the food in spanish. The lady who served us was SONICE. She knew what project we were doing because kids from the last year came there as well. She offered to help us by speaking slower and gave us tips on what to say and what to film. A+ to her. The second time I went, it was again with a few friends. The man who served us, I recognized from the last time we went and he was very helpful and nice to us teenagers. The only part I didn’t like was that we had to go to the register to pay separately but that didn’t bother me too much. The portion sizes are HUGE for the price you get and the food is really good. All of my friends and I had to take to-go boxes that were mostly full. We also went on a Tuesday and they have 99¢ Taco Tuesdays so thats a bonus. Overall, I really did enjoy the experience. Though, I have never had traditional Mexican food, the food here was delicious

This place gets four stars for the affordable prices, nice atmosphere and excellent service. Would’ve gotten five but the food was not delicious. It was okay. Drinks were delicious. I’ll start out by saying I really enjoyed my visit because my waiter was AWESOME! And that makes all the difference! He was friendly talkative well spoken and accommodating. We ordered papa tacos w avocado only charged is 25cents for avocado which is excellent because some places gouge you ! Also ordered caldo de pollo & a palmagranite marguerita w a coronita in it. Drink was great!!! I enjoyed my visit because the chips and salsa were free, the drink was yummy, the waiter was very nice and the nice spanish music was perfect & relaxing. Also the décor is fun & bright . But the food is just okay. I say this because the soup I ordered was probably the worst caldo de pollo I’ve had. The chicken was yucky the vegetables were under cooked there was no potatoes ATALL??? Who makes caldo pollo without potatoes ??? The rice on the bottom was good though. The tacos de papa were decent, salsa verde was good. Dessert was really really yummy! We got the chimichangas all three flavors strawberry, chocolate & sour cream! I recommend those for sure!!! Our waiter handled my request to send the soup back with no problem which I really appreciated because it’s hard to send stuff back, I always feel guilty for asking to take stuff off my bill that I don’t care for. I did try to like the soup I really did. I doctored it up as much as I could. We had come for taco Tuesday based on decent Unilocal reviews. I believe I will come back to this restaurant because it’s such a nice atmosphere. But the quality of taste in food should be looked at a little more. This place would’ve definitely gotten five stars from me if I had enjoyed the rest of my meal as much as I enjoyed the dessert and drink. Thank you to our waiter for giving us a discount on the bill that was very very kind of him. Because of his excellent service I may visit again when in the mood for a drink or 99cent tacos.

I really like this place and its mind blowing to me as to why it’s always so empty when I come here, even on a Saturday. I think this restaurant is the quintessential example of why location is the key to getting good business. Even though it’s located on the Main Street of Temple City, the restaurant gets lost on the busy street. Big portions. Tasty flavor. Friendly service. Two thumbs up for me.

I’ve driven by this place like a million times, but for some reason I never stopped in try it out until now. I’m glad I finally did, because the food is tasty, the service is pretty decent, and the prices are reasonable. There were many great sounding menu items to choose from; I ended up going with the shrimp enchiladas plate(green sauce). It was very appetizing, and the portion size was extremely filling — I was nearly unable to finish it(despite starting with an empty stomach). Unfortunately, the horchata served here is Horchata Olé, and not the really good«home-made» kind ladled from a cartoonishly massive glass jar. The waiter provided service with a smile, and was very good about ensuring my tortilla chips and horchata were replenished as needed. Parking is easily obtained on either the curb in front, or in the public parking lot just north of the restaurant. I was tempted to give this restaurant a full 5⁄5 rating, but decided not to because the check was brought to me before I asked for it — this is a major pet peeve of mine, as I can never interpret the action as telling me anything other than«GTFO!». As a result, as a matter of general principle, I cannot give a 5⁄5 rating to *any* full-service restaurant that does that to me. Despite that quibble, I will definitely return here, and I hope to give their flan a try.
