McAlister’s is just hit or miss for me now. I still love their sweet tea so, so, SO much, but the food can really go either way these days. It becomes frustrating when I think about the fact that I’m spending my hard earned money for(what I would consider) sub-par food at least 40−50% of the time we go there.

Delicious food! I recommend the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Turkey Melt, and Smokey Pepper Jack Turkey Sandwich! Service could be a bit faster.

First off my son has allergies and can’t eat wheat at all. So most sandwich places are off limits but not here. They have gluten free bread that actually tastes and smells like real bread. My husband, who just got put on a diet by his doctor, was very pleased with his salad. He said he liked how they actually cut up all the vegetables. It was big enough and had enough protein in it that he didn’t still feel hungry. My daughter got a club and she loved it. It was huge! I got a salad as well. It had everything but the kitchen sink in it. I did think they were a little pricey and the floors were dirty. This location also had a real generic fast food vibe that threw me off. So I gave them 4 stars because the food was good.

Ok who doesn’t like this places salads, soup, or sandwiches! It’s just a great place to eat lunch with either two people or five. The cost is affordable and it’s right in the middle of the local area shopping district.

It’s mcalisters. When is this place not good? Sweet tea is the best because(Bush’s pay attention) it takes like tea with sugar in it. not the other way around. If you are hungry order the Big Nasty. Trust Me!

Have not been back since I found an entire iceberg lettuce butt in my salad. Probably 5 yrs ago. Worse than pedestrian food with bland and dry spuds, fake chicken, etc etc. really just fast prepackaged crap.

Love all the fresh sandwiches and the huge salads! Not a fan of the coleslaw they put pepper in it and way too much.

I like McAlister’s. They know how to bake a potato. The rest of the food is good, too. They also have Diet Dr Pepper. Thus, I am a fan.

I think their iced tea isn’t that great. What does make them great is the friendly staff, piping hot meals, overall value, and satisfaction from the quality of the restaurant experience. If they had free WiFi it would be my destination for lunch from now on. The parking is ample and so is the restaurant space. I did find the silverware to be a little to «water spotty» for my taste but I’ll make one exception. Next time it better be spotless or I’ll bring my own cutlery.

Lot’s of new items on the menu so much variety it’s frightening! LOL I always enjoy the spuds or sandwiches and think it’s a plus that you can get a fruit cup instead of chips. DONOT go during lunch time unless you have the patience of Job! It took me 35 minutes to get a sandwich and some iced tea! Geez… on second thought it was a pretty damn good sandwich.

I was pleasantly surprised. I remember a McAlister’s when I lived in Houston, but never ate there. Other choices like Panera Bread and Jason’s Deli distracted me. This is the only deli of this style in town(Jason’s is coming soon!) and I decided to each lunch here this past week. I had half of a French dip sandwich with a cup of fire-roasted vegetable soup. My wife had a chicken salad sandwich and a side garden salad. The French dip was very tasty with soft baguette and flavorful beef. The au jus was good! Most casual restaurants au jus tastes like Kitchen Bouquet and water — not here! And the soup was fresh. So why not 5 stars? My wife asked for a different type of salad but we were in a hurry and didn’t want to wait for a reorder. My soup was lukewarm, not hot(health code violations or just sitting at the window too long? Either way, not good.). Portions were OK, but $ 20 for lunch(for 2) is a bit steep for everyday. They do provide drinks in large to-go cups which is nice, but the refills must be handled by the servers across the counter instead of self-service like Panera. Not a huge issue, but when they’re swamped during the lunch rush, you don’t want to wait. Maybe that’s the point?

This is a great deli here in Temple. If you’ve never been its definitely worth the time & money. I think for one they have the best tea around, sweet & unsweetened; it has a good fresh brewed taste. Their bread bowl soups are delicious! Their sandwiches are made fresh & the bread is always soft. The cookies, though they are really flattened are tasty as well. Going at lunch time can prove a challenge as they get very busy, so go early or be patient. If you’re a tea fan, get the punch card because the 10th one is free! 8-)

I like this place, it has great sandwiches and plenty of sides. My favorite sandwich is the Orange Cranberry Club — it’s really good, and the bread is always fresh and good quality. People go crazy for the sweet tea here, I’m not a sweet tea guy but I went half-and-half w/regular tea and it tasted just fine. They brew their tea here which is why it’s so good. This place could be a 5 star place if they stepped it up a notch in some areas — such as their side offerings. I didn’t care for the packaged up fruit cup(that was quite acidic), or the packaged up apple sauce either. If they had their own homemade chips or fruit(for example) that was made fresh then that would really put this place over the top, instead you’ll get packaged sides(Lays, Sun Chips, Mott’s, Fruit cups) which I guess is no different than Subway. I have yet to expand from the Orange Cranberry Club, they do have plenty of other sandwiches /soups and salads you can choose from, all of which are great quality.
