My boyfriend and I were visiting Pismo Beach for a few days and looking for a place to train. Chris and his wife Mallory were very welcoming to new drop in students and gave us some food recommendations for dinner!
We took Chris’s takedown class and it was a very good technical class followed by an open mat where people were friendly.
Thanks Chris and Mallory! Next time we’re in the area we are sure to come back.

I was in Cayucos for the weekend. I called Paragon to see about training. The owner, Chris Lovato, invited me to train at his gym in SLO and let me know about training at the Paso Robles gym. I was able to make it to Paragon in Paso Robles on Saturday morning. WHAT AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! The brown belt instructor, Raymond, was very welcoming and helpful. The other students were also welcoming and helpful too! Absolutely no egos! I will make an effort to come back just to train with these guys again.
