Pleasant, friendly, casual Middle Eastern in downtown Tenafly. The lunch special is a steal — 3 courses for $ 12.95. I had red lentil soup, baba ghanouj with fresh focaccia-​like bread, and ground-​lamb kebab. All terrific. Too much food, but who’s complaining?

HOLY MOLY YUM! Completely surpassed all my expectations for take out food. We ordered chicken chops, these tiny lamb dumplings, spinach pie, and babaganush/​hummus.
Everything was totally delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had the perfect amount of seasoning. Their homemade hummus was creamy and completely satisfying. They serve the dips with a bunch of pieces of delicious, crispy, warm bread.
Only negative I will say is the price. I guess its alright paying a lot for quality food but ugh. Will definitely order from here again when I can (or can’t) splurge and am craving their awesome yogurt sauce, which actually might be tomorrow idk.

Just had another spectacular meal at Europe Café & Grill in Tenafly. Management has expanded the menu (more vegetarian dishes, photos of the dishes, some of which are unfamiliar to many of us), so there are even more yummy choices.
It seems to be a small, family run operation that manages to maintain high standards at a reasonable cost. Don’t forget to ask for the loyalty card, which provides a discount of 10% or 15%.
We have eaten here 5 – 10 times and never have been disappointed.

I would have given the place a higher ranking as the food, staff and service is very good… the owner, however, is a rude, nasty guy.

Have been here now several times for lunch. They have a great lunch special for $ 13 which includes plenty of food and quite the variety of lunch options. While I haven’t tried the whole menu the items I have had have been fresh and prepared very well. They also make a fantastic which has been wonderful on these winter days. I recommend you come and see for yourself how good this place is.

Fantastic little place and truly authentic dishes. I only stopped in for a quick bite before a movie and was impressed with the menu selections. I ordered the lentil soup and a pide which is a pizza essentially. It was the beef one, fantastic flavor, perfect crust and a spicy sauce on the side for those who like spice. which I do. Server was very friendly and attentive and I would go back. The table next to me ordered many dishes that looked wonderful and they ate every drop… hummous, salads, baba ghanouge, yogurt… all looked great.

Nothing special about this place! Food has no flavor.

Each time I eat here it is better. That doesn’t seem possible since the food has always been excellent. Tonight I ordered delivery. It was fast hot and the delivery person was friendly. My friends love it also. One just asked me to bring her here for a special event. Been here for lunch, dinner and now delivery. The best mediteranean restaurant around.

3 course lunch for $ 12?! You can’t beat that!!! Food is fresh and delicious!

My family is from Turkey and the food is authentic and delicious. Take out is hot and nicely packaged, but you can also stay in the cute café for a meal. My lamb kebab was yummy, the pilaf was very good, and the salads were fresh and delicious. Obviously a lot of care goes into the food preparation and presentation.

Even though it’s not in the middle of town, it’s worth coming here because the food is great. This is a small Turkish restaurant that serves delicious, freshly prepared cuisine. I came here for lunch with a friend around 1 pm mid week in early August and the place was pretty empty although Tenafly becomes a ghost town in August so no worries on that. I’d say it was ²⁄₃ empty.
The only problem was that the very young and inexperienced waitress kept coming over to take our order every few minutes. This was a business lunch, we had a lot to go over and we also wanted to relax. After a tactfully explaining our situation, she got it and everything was perfect. I think she was worried that she wasn’t being attentive enough.
Last Saturday night I ordered take out which was just as good. The place was packed inside and all the outside tables were filled too. Everyone looked happy. AND the take out was ready on time!
Nothing is more irritating than waiting for your take out while people bustle around you. Don’t you hate that? Doesn’t it happen all the time? Not here. They said 20 minutes, I came then and it was ready. Come to think of it, the food at lunch came out quickly too. Now that’s amazing in itself with a packed house.
This is a very unassuming place. You’ll drive by it and miss it easily. It’s location is actually not on Highwood Ave. It’s alongside the railroad tracks at the intersection of Piermont Rd and Riveredge Road which is 1 way north. Plenty of nearby parking.
Another plus — it’s BYOB. If you like Turkish/​Middle Eastern food, you can’t go wrong coming to Care Europe.

It’s good but nothing special. I prefer Samdan in Cresskill. Had the chicken chops which were great and added cacik on top. Babaganush was okay and the falafel was okay as well. Cheese panini was pretty good but nothing special. Turkish coffee is great and so is the baklavah.

We have ordered for delivery, food came ontime and it was awesome, lahmacun was great never eaten like this taste since i left my country, all appetizers were delicious, highly recommended

I like it here very much. Everything is so fresh. Ive eaten here many times and have never been less than satisfied. The hummus is excellent, the rice always well prepared and the salads very good. The staff are always friendly. They have a frequent diner card which offers discounts. Its a favorite any time I’m in town.

Love this place. My office orders from here frequently– catering orders for 15 ppl which comes in trays. Call head 2 hour minimum and they can have it ready. We also order individual lunch specials which is only $ 12 for a 3 course selection! My favorites are the hummus, soups, eggplant in sauce, chicken adana & babaganoush!

Only one word «delicious». Very reasonable priced, healthy, mediterranean foods. Small family restaurant, waiters were very friendly. I recommend this place.

Today it was snowing and the restaurant was empty we tried to get lunch at 2:38 and were told we could not get the lunch as it ends at 2:30. So we walked out and went to Samdan in Cresskill for their $ 12 lunch it was wonderful. I understand standing by your policies but your place was empty and hear the weather was really very bad we would’ve been there before 230 had the weather been fine it’s out like the dinner food is different from lunch the prices just different. Well they lost 3 good customers today.

Stopped by for lunch. Good price for great food. Service is very nice and quick. They serve a fresh bread basket with their course. Everything was delicious. The place is very well kept. I wish them more customers and if I am in the area, I will be back for sure.

We ordered delivery from here for our company lunch (8 people). The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Most people got the 3-​course $ 12 lunch special and it was very good and was a very generous portion.
I had the HASHAS KEBAB (Grilled adana kebab over chopped tomato and pepper sauce). It had a good amount of meat in a delicious tomato sauce with a separate container of rice on the side.
We’ll definitely be ordering from here again. On a payment note, just a heads up that they don’t accept AMEX.

Favorite Mediterranean restaurant close to home.
Jumbo shrimp: lots of flavor. The shrimp was juicy and grilled perfectly. Loved the variety of bell peppers and onions on the skewers too.
Tomato cheese and basil pide: the weakest part of the meal. The bread was soggy, and the tomato, cheese and basil kept falling all over the place.
Lamb shank: STAR OF THE SHOW. The lamb shank never disappoints. The hearty lamb leg was bursting with flavor and very tender. The dish included a side salad and some roasted potatoes. The sauce tied everything together. Perfect
Harem kebab: the chicken itself was cooked very well and was very delicious. I wasn’t a big fan of the dough wrapped around the meat. It just ended up falling apart.
