This place has CLOSED. But when it was open, I enjoyed the chicken wings(soy garlic), the fries were always hot, but mozzarella sticks had this weird sauce(more ketchup-like than marinara)

A solid selection of Salads, Sandwiches, Burgers, Chicken Wings mixed with other Korean offerings. Everything priced under $ 10, but the taste and quality is much higher. Are these the best for the price in the area? Absolutely. Burgers better than a Diner and Wings better than your average pizzaria. Simple and clean place to eat in. Good service and plenty of parking around. Based on price, quality, quantity and taste, I give it 5 stars.

Mmm. They might not be the first to make Korean fried chicken popular, but they are the best. I’ve come here a few times, and each time I’ve come out impressed and full. They chicken is fried so the skin outside is crispy and tasty, while the meat inside is tender and juicy, without the distraction the sauce or the skin. It’s really the best of both worlds. The prices are a little steep, but aside from that, this is a great place for fried chicken. It’s definitely better than KFC!

UFC is probably one of the first places I heard about concerning Korean Fried Chicken… but due to my procrastination about going to Harlem it never happened… but hello Tenafly… I have to drive through there every week. lol Stopped in at random with the usual partner in fuss & gluttony. Parking on the street wasnt difficult. There was no crowd inside, however like I said it was at random and we did NOT call 20 minutes ahead… remember to do this! lol. We really should have, we eat at these places all the time. We went for the usual mixed 20 pieces in soy garlic w fries(not a fan of the daikon). Our order took about half an hour, time we spent watching a HUGE # of neighborhood kids walk by and their commentary on why anybody would want to get Asian fried chicken. smh. Kids. The chicken reminded me of PeckPeck’s style much more then BonChons. Honestly I like this style better(but its still not peck peck). Very very well done tho. Props to the owner, when I asked for hot sauce he handed me the huge bottle of sriracha. My jaw hit the floor in not being offered white ppl hot sauce or packets. Very nice touch, I have been wanting to try the chicken fresh and hot w that stuff by now… if you go for it go easy on it, its a LOT spicier then tobasco… as in instant endorphins spicy. Overall this is a solid place! Great way to begin a Friday night(would be a great way to end one too if these places were all extreme late night and had beer).

Hearing such rave reviews regarding the original location I have always wanted to try UFC but since I don’t venture into Queens often i had yet to have the opportunity to taste what has been regarding as the best KFC, so when I heard that this post opened about 15 mins from my home you know I had to drive down and try it! Stopped last night at around 7:30 pm with my friend the place was quite. Small storefront with about 6⁄8 tables. You walk up to the counter, place your order and wait the usual 15⁄20 mins for your chicken to be freshly cooked to order for you. We ordered 20 soy garlic wings, two small orders of fries and two drinks which totaled to about 24 dollars. The chicken came out steaming hot! It was cooked to what I consider perfection. Not too greasy, a superb crunch, juicy and perfectly cooked meat. The outer skin was paper thin and as crispy as can be with no fatty skin left between the crust and meat. The heat and steam rising from the chicken brought the appetizing aroma of soy and garlic. The flavor profile matched the aroma. It reminds me very much like the flavor from Peck Peck. A very nice balance, not over powering. Nicely done. I would have to say these are one of my favs that I have tried regarding this style of chicken. Well flavored, def not as pronounced as boom boom. But I def prefer these over boom boom. Much for flavor then BBS. Flavor profile differs a bit, not by much from Bön chon, BBS, boom boom or peck peck. I would say it most closest resembles the flavor of peck peck. Overall this is a Solid Korean chicken joint and a welcoming addition to the greater Bergen county and NNJ area. If your a fan of Bön Chon or Korean fried chicken I suggest you check UFC out!

So after my last review of the newest Korean-style fried chicken in Bergenfield, I decided to finally give UFC a shot. Skin crispness: 3 stars. It wasn’t as well fried as MFC Bergenfield or Bön Chon Leonia. Those are both 5 stars. Meat: 5 stars. VERY juicy for a wing, especially considering it’s double fried. A lot of these double fried Korean joints can dry out the meat but UFC does an amazing job at keeping it succulent. Flavor: 3 stars. Like MFC Bergenfield, the hint of flavor is there, but it is not as potent as Bön Chon Leonia. If I’m going to pay premium for fried chicken wings, I want the soy garlic to be prevalent in every bite with skin. It’s just not there for UFC; at times it tastes like I’m eating some plain old fried chicken. Fries: 2 stars. A poor excuse for a side dish. These are diner fries at best. They don’t even double fry them to make them crispy. At least the other places do. Overall, it still doesn’t come close to Bön Chon Leonia which, unfortunately for all the Korean fried chicken spots, is my baseline. It sets a high standard of quality and freshness that goes a long way. UFC will continue on but I doubt I’ll go for a return visit… maybe one more time to verify my findings.

I was reading NYT articles that compared all the Korean Fried Chicken joints around Metro New York City… they rated UFC as #1, so I had to give it a try when I was in NJ… I called and some kid answered the phone… gave them the address of where I was staying… the kid couldn’t understand me, I had to give the address like five times, spell the street name… after that test, I ordered large wings and drum, all soy garlic. They said 30 to 40 minutes until it was delivered… I got a call around 40 minutes after I had ordered… the couldn’t find my place… so we confirmed and they had the wrong address… gave them the address again and within five minutes, it was delivered. I checked the receipt and they had wrong house number and wrong street name… oh well… The chicken were packed in a white box, delivered inside a plastic bag… when I opened the plastic bag, there was lot of moisture and the box was wet, but the chicken was still hot and good. The next day, I ordered large wings, two large drums again… confirmed the address and this time, they got the address right!!! I will have to try the other sauces next time I’m in NY/NJ area…

Korean fried chicken is a very nice thing indeed. I have to think that UFC cooks the chicken the best out of the ones I’ve tried; however, I think that the flavors(with the exception of soy /garlic*) are generally better at Bonchon or Boom-boom in the Fort Lee area. I wonder what the Queens location is like. * I normally don’t get soy/garlic(just not cool), but someone in my group wanted them.

This is the second location for UFC. The original is in Jackson Heights, NY. This small store in Tenafly has plenty of room if you want to eat-in. I did takeout yesterday afternoon. Korean fried chicken usually takes at least 20 minutes to prepare and UFC was no exception. Most of the Korean fried chicken joints in the area like to advertise that their food has zero trans fat and that the chicken isn’t very greasy and is a healthy alternative… blah blah blah. Upon the recommendation of the young lady that answered the phone I ordered the wings(8 pieces) and drums(6 pieces) done in soy garlic sauce. I wish she had advised me that there were 3 additional sauces and that I could have mixed and matched with one other sauce. The other 3 sauces are hot, bbq mustard and sweet&spicy. Two sides choices were available for my wings and I chose the Korean radish and a garden salad. Yes, I know the latter is lame and I should have ordered the french fries and/or sweet potato fries. The Korean radish consists of small cubed pieces of white radish in vinegar. I find the radish to be very refreshing in limited quantities. The salad wasn’t worth the breath I used to order it. The drums are actually regular full size drumsticks and not just part of the butchered wing that you would get in Buffalo-style wings. I enjoyed the soy garlic sauce on these perfectly fried wings very much. I like the sauce at Bön Chon Chicken, in Fort Lee, a bit more. My wife seemed to like the ones at UFC more. I certainly look forward to trying some of the other available sauces. Also, the menu has several non-wing offerings such as dongatsu(pork cutlet), bulgogi, pork bulgogi, chicken parm panini, grilled chicken panini, chicken burger, UFC burger, and various salads. Drinks seemed to be all cans and bottles. I didn’t see any fountain soda service. In hindsight I wonder if they are frying the chicken for the chicken parm paninin in the Korean style.
