Chopsticks Express Chinese Restaurant

By far one of the best Chinese places I have been to. The food is excellent and they are friendly people. I would definitely recommend Chopsticks Express if you are in the mood for Chinese food.

This is my favorite Chinese food place. The food is delicious and savory. I always come back to this location to get my Chinese crave fix. I don’t understand why the other reviewers said this food was nasty. It’s one of the most authentic places around the area. I hope that they can go back and reevaluate it. It’s been a consistent experience everytime I’ve been there.

Not sure I would feed this to a dog! This food is disgusting. Greasy grimy and place place is filled with scum bags. Avoid at all costs. The waitstaff is rude and I’m not sure why anyone would order this crap. Gross!

Chopsticks Express has average Chinese food. Their food is prepared quickly, which is good when you are in a rush. The food is sold at a reasonable price and they give out large portions.

Had delivery from here twice, recently it took an hour to get here on a weeknight. First time food mediocre, second time threw away $ 25.00 of food in the trash. Chix fingers hard as a rock, had been sitting out all day, lo mein tasted and smelled old. Overpriced and awful.

Been a while since I’ve been threatened with arrest.
My family had been eating here (mostly takeout) for the past fourteen years. The quality of the food was slightly better than the other local Chinese takeout joint. Today, my family had dinner in the restaurant, and when the bill arrived, my wife had a question about one of the charges. The waitress, whose best quality thus far had been «surly,» took the bill over to the cook /​manager (?). This person (I’ll refer to him as Cigarette Guy, because that’s what he reeked of) returned to our table and began an argument with my wife over a two-​dollar discrepancy. After my wife agreed that we would pay the overcharge, Cigarette Guy threatened to call the police. Yes. BAM! Out of nowhere, he threatened to have my wife ARRESTED because she questioned the cost of an appetizer. In front of our young children.
Never. Again.

Tried to order. No online menu+no website+no English speaker to answer the phone = no order. And probably no loss.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! not only is the food discusting and mediocre they charged my card 3 times the amount of the bill thinking i wouldnt check my account.
had lunch there and spent 20 they charged me the 20 then went ahead and charged me another 60 for no reason

Thursday night. Food was cold, ribs needs more flavor. and everything taste super salty. never again!

Very, very hit or miss with this place. We live nearby, so our experience is mostly with delivery. Over the past year, the food has varied from somewhat above average (compared to the other places in the area — and this isn’t Chinatown, people) to downright awful. Unfortunately, it’s recently been tending to the awful. Have to wonder if there’s been a change in the kitchen. Most recent try included sesame beef (which was tough and not very flavorful), egg drop soup (bland, and with a couple of huge pieces of egg), and egg rolls (very average). It will be a while before we try them again

I’ve lived around the corner from Chopsticks and have been ordering there for 15+ years. The food is above average Chinese and the drinks are good too. I love the Thai Rice and Kung Pao and Hunan dishes. It is one of the very few places that my whole family enjoys. Since they moved into the River Road Café location we have dined in more than we take out. The staff is as friendly as can be and the number of regulars tells you something about the quality and service.

My wife loves the Pea Pods with Beef — I ordered Lo Mein and was very disappointed. This truly is a hit-​and-​miss retaurant. The owner doesn’t seem to be particularly interested in making sure the food is delivered hot or within a reasonable period of time. I have not had food delivered so far based on the reviews above.
Within the Tewksbury restaurant universe, it probably is the best around. That, unfortunately, is NOT a strong recommendation as there are very few what I would call good or great restaurants in town. Lowell is another thing entirely — especially over the past three/​four years. Kudos to Lowell for «moving up». Save your money and go there.

I agree that this place is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is made with love, and sometimes I swear they’re just passing off reheated leftovers. They seem to be incapable of making anything spicy. The General Gao’s is never hot even if you request it that way. On the plus side, their portions are huge, and usually produce copious leftovers. This is the closest decent Chinese place to me, so it’s my go-​to take out location, but I wish they’d make some improvements. I thought this might happen when they moved to their larger location, but it’s much the same.
All that said, I enjoy dining in at this restaurant. Their new bar is fantastic, and they make the Polynesian-​style drinks strong. Get the mai-​tai. The staff is always very friendly, and they are extremely hardworking.

Hit or miss with this Restaurant.
I think it really depends on when you order. I have been wowed by
how efficient and how fresh and tasty the food is, and I have also
had a few bad experiences. Overall the food is okay, but when you
have to wait more than an hour for delivery and the food is cold, it’s very
difficult to enjoy your food.
When the food is hot and fresh it’s on the money, but it seems that this
happens rarely.
If you do decide to eat here then Dine in and you will enjoy the food.

I hate to say something this strong, but these people are BUFFOONS and should NOT be running a restaurant. I went in to order some takeout. The woman taking my order spoke zero English and could not understand my order at all despite me explaining it several times. She got it right after I pointed to the items on the menu. But she seemed to be very annoyed at me for even ordering. Maybe you have to speak Chinese to order here.
Even worse, after placing my order I thought that I would sit at the bar and have a drink while waiting. I ordered a rum and coke and the guy behind the bar gave me the blankest of blank stares. He kept asking me what I wanted and I repeated «rum and coke» about 20 times. He proceeded to examine very bottle of alcohol behind the bar as if he had no idea what I was talking about or what he was looking for. At no time did he try to find another employee who spoke English. I told him several times to forget it, but finally he mixed an awful drink with some kind of coconut rum. It was awful but I still had to pay for it. My takeout order did come out quickly. Average to below average food.
After my experience there I cannot imagine going to this place for a sit down meal. It would have to be a catastrophe. Surprising since Chinese restaurants are usually very efficient. This one certainly is not.

I have to write the wrong. Since the reopen the food has ben very good. Fresh and fast the staff is wicked friendly and happy to help with Any questions. They have a bar now with a menu of chinese and polynesian drinks. Its a must go. With a wood bar and 60 inch led t.v. at the bar its a great place to unwind with some crab ragoon. And a mai tai.

Have ordered delivery a dozen times now. Very fast delivery, screaming hot food. They have chicken wings that rival the best.

these a holes gave me the wrong order. i ordered orange beef and got general tso’s chicken. the pork fried rice is so brown it looks like cat puke. my duck sauce container is only half full. everything is over cooked and over sauced.
delivery was speedy quick. good fruggin job guys.

Just moved to Tewksbury and ordered here based on a recommendation from a friend. Overall things were fine, but nothing special. Both the person taking our phone order and the delivery driver were friendly, but it took almost an hour for our food to arrive on a Tuesday night.
We ordered 2 egg rolls, the small crab rangoon appetizer, General Tso’s Chicken and Orange Chicken. The best part of the meal was the crab rangoon – light and flaky, they were huge, and there were at least 8 in the small order. The egg rolls were also flaky, but their flavor was nothing unique. The entrees were huge, but disappointing in that there were only 6 – 8 pieces of chicken in each order, yet they came with about a pound of rice each. The other disappointing thing was that the sauces were almost identical in flavor. While not bad for General’s chicken, the Orange chicken was lacking any semblance of a citrus flavor.
Would we order again – maybe, but we’ll try some of the other local Asian restaurants first.

Was visiting family in the area tonight. They moved to Tewksbury in May but haven’t had Chinese Take Out since then because they just didn’t know where to go. They had a menu for this place and we decided to give it a shot and kept our expectations low. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered several appetizers, pork fried rice, lo mein and pad thai. Everything was excellent.
The food arrived in a timely manner and hot. The delivery woman was friendly. The prices were reasonable. Great value, great food.
I especially liked that the boneless spareribs were meaty and not overly fatty like you get at some places. Also the beef on the teriyaki (aka steak on a stick) was a generous serving size.
I would highly recommend these guys.
