Family Care Center

All of the doctors and nurse practitioners I have encountered at this practice have been great; however, the administrative staff is incredibly rude. Doctors appointments are inherently stressful and the staff at this care center exacerbate that stress.

I’ve been going here for about 11 years as I live right down the street. I really like that they have about 5 or 6 different doctors and a nurse practitioner so if you have an urgent issue they can usually see you that day or the next. I’ve see about 4 of the doctors at one time or another and they seem to be nice. I only ever had an issue with one of the nurses (who took blood pressure and returned calls) who was extremely nasty and rude, but she must have left about 3 years ago so that’s no longer an issue.

I Have been using this office for some time now. They are the worst group of people I have ever dealt with! Most of the office staff are very rude. The doctors here are no better. I saw a female DR here a few weeks ago she wouldn’t even let me talk to finish telling her what was going on. She had a nurse give me a throat culture when I was there for a skin irritation!!!
If you make an appointment with Dr. Guay don’t expect to see him for at least an hour after you scheduled your appointment! i was there for a 10:45 app at 10:36am. He walked into the room at 11:54 am and says sorry I am a few minutes late! Really?!? a few minutes??? This is about the 8 or 9^th time this has happened to me.
Here is the kicker, I missed a follow up appointment because I forgot about it as it was scheduled 4 months in advance. I immediately received a bill in the mail for $ 25.00!!! When I called and asked why I hadn’t gotten a reminder call the again and again told me they called. When i finally got them to tell me the number they called it wasn’t even mine!!! So they can be late every time I am in there but since I missed one appointment and as they put it «wasted the Dr.‘s valuable time» I now need to pay for it? haha
I could go on and on about this place but I think you get the idea. I will be looking for a new DR.

Absolutely great Primary Care/​Family Medical office. They are associated with Winchester Hospital, much like the Family Medical Center (Urgent Care) just down the road. They seem to always run on time. I can attest to Dr. Guay’s diagnostic interest and bedside manner; by far the best PCP I have ever seen. If you live in the Tewksbury area and are looking for a primary/​family care physician then I highly recommend Family Care Center.

Excellent facility. The administrative professionals and medical support staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. My primary care doctor is Dr. Stephen Guay and he is excellent. He takes his time with your appointment, listens to your concerns and always follows up. I switched to Family Medical because of a friend’s recommendation and am a very happy client. Bonus — they are accepting new patients!
