If you are looking for decently priced pub food with really good bartenders then this is the place for you. While I like the casual atmosphere to catch a sports game while having a drink, the one thing that makes this place really shine is their servers… ESPECIALLY Jarvis.
Jarvis is always there to greet you with a smile and a witty sense of humor that makes the weight of the world melt away. Not only will he entertain you with his amazing sense of humor, but he will also sing you a song and dance should a good song come on the juke box. He never fails to help me select the perfect drink to go with my meal and is always on point to make anything right should anything go wrong. I highly recommend visiting Jon Ryan’s if for nothing else than to be waited on by Jarvis.
Highly recommend this establishment especially given the quality of their service and bar tenders.

I recently moved to Billerica and wanted to take my family someplace that looked like it had decent food. The prices are average but so was our food.

I come to this restaurant because I love the fun that comes along with John Ryan’s pub. We come here just to see Jarvis dance and have fun with him. Not to mention Brian is the best bartender ever, very attentive and also fun and funny. The food is simply yummy and we couldn’t go any where else for free entertainment, great chatting and the best food!

Everytime I walk in here, one of the waiters is breakdancing in the middle of the bar. I didn’t come here to watch you dance and sing, kind sir. I’ll get my kicks somewhere else. Decent pub grub and beer prices though. You could do worse…

Its your typical pub food! Sometimes the food comes out cold!

Just moved to tewksbury and wanted to check out this place. Me and mom were having a girls night, Friday night at 730 we snagged a table in the bar area. We were greeted by a charming young man named Jarvis. The service was prompt and he was very attentive throughout the meal. Let me say that everything was good! The apple martini was just tart enough and a good portion for the affordable price. The potato skin appetizer was THE BEST potato skins we have ever had… ever! They came with sour cream and fresh chives and Jarvis was more than happy to bring me a side of blue cheese dressing which was very flavorful at no extra charge.
For dinner mom got the feta pasta with chicken sausage and I got the shrimp scampi, both were good. Not gourmet Italian cuisine but certainly very impressive bar food. All in all we were very impressed with the cleanliness, service, flavorful fresh bar food and all for a great price. Keep up the good work Jarvis, we’ll definitely be back! Cheers!

I was visiting MA relatives from out of state. We have different taste in restaurants typically so I was not hopeful when they suggested John Ryan’s and raved about it.
We went in. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server, Jane, was fantastic. Attentive, friendly, but not hovering.
The food was hot and delicious. I was super hungry so I had the spinach & artichoke dip appetizer as my entrée. It was the BEST spinach & artichoke dip I’ve ever had… ever. Served with deep fried pita chips. I would come back just for this.
My only complaint was that the table they seated us at had not been vacuumed underneath so there were straw wrappers and junk underneath and not was really noticeable and felt dirty.

Ate here for the first time and it’s one of the finest restaurant I’ve ever been to. Nice environment and friendly staff.

Saturday night I ordered the Beer & Pretzel Cheese Bites: «Wisconsin cheddar cheese in crushed pretzels and genuine pilsner beer. Deep fried and served with yellow mustard for dipping.»
What I ended up with was fried mozzarella bites/​nuggets. I didn’t notice any pretzels or beer, in either appearance or taste. If a pub is going to sub an entirely different cheese, then the menu should reflect that, so that users don’t get baited and switched on. :-(

Went to meet a friend to watch the football game an have a few beers. The atmosphere was great and the views were great to watch a game. Decent selection of beers. The food was OK. I ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla and it had shredded chicken instead of the usual chicken chunks. It had a weird consistency. Ok but wouldn’t order it again.

Like Billerica location for historic building: love Tewksbury location for same great food. Brian is the best bartender!

Love it here!!! Great local place with delicious pub food and very inexpensive yummy cocktails. We have been a lot of times now and have never been disappointed. The nachos are amazing in a GIANT tortilla bowl! The turkey tips are always excellent. The bar does half priced apps at certain times. I love a good Lemon Drop Martini and they make a great one. My hubby will get a Ruben anywhere if its on the menu so he has had quite a few and John Ryan’s is his favorite! Highly recommended!
The bar was completely done over and is an amazing difference from what it was. The dining room was also completely done over and is so inviting and really looks great! You can’t beat the prices and they always have coupons.

Anywho what a difference in service! We were seated immediately by a very pleasant server who took our drink order and had the drinks to is in three minutes!
My Mac and cheese burger was delicious all ingredients fresh. My daughter ordered the western burger with onion rings and it did not dissapoint!
We will definitely return.

Driven by this restaurant for years and decided to finally you try it tonight!
Our waiter was John whom I must say was very passionate about the Restaurant and it’s by and far highest quality of «Fresh «Food»!
I got the California Veggie Burger (which is «fresh-​made» on-​site) Delicious!!! My wife got the Haddock Nantucket which John said all the Fish comes in Fresh Daily and is always made to order.
(PORTION SIZES NEED IMPROVEMENT) Must say the food quality was Superb! (Portions were a bit small for my appetite but quality made up for it. Again, our waiter John was a perfect model of how waitstaff should meet, greet and educate the customer… Very impressive service!

My burger was the best part of my dinner at Jon Ryan’s. After having driven past probably hundreds of times, I’m glad I finally stopped in. A few things about dinner were a little off, but overall it was enjoyable — they go slightly beyond pub comfort food here with additional fish and pasta dishes. Service is great and friendly. The atmosphere is a little bit bar, a little bit pub, a little bit tavern, a little bit restaurant, and a lot of paneling.
They don’t have a beer menu, but a bar drinks/​wine menu is available on request, and the waitresses have the list of beers memorized (a lengthy but conventional list). The menu is straightforward with a good number of pictures.
We started with a bowl of artichoke-​spinach dip, served with fried tortilla chips. The dip contained a lot of spinach and large chunks of artichokes. You should definitely share this dish, because the fried chips are very filling.
One person ordered the turkey tips, which were good, accompanied by rice (okay) and squash. The squash was heavily spiced and sweetened and tasted like sweet potato pie filling.
I ordered a bacon Swiss cheeseburger, medium. It came out medium-​well, but that was the only deviation. And now for the most interesting compliment — it was by far the absolute best bacon I have ever eaten. The burger itself is a good size, and lettuce, tomato, and red onion come with it normally. I would have liked the fries to be slightly less greasy and slightly more crisp, but I appreciate that they were definitely prepared in this kitchen.
I do have one beef (pun intended) about one burger description on the menu. The burgers are advertised as choice Angus beef, which is fine. But there is one burger listed on the menu as a «Prime Steak Burger.» So I asked the waitress if it really was made from prime cut steak. She asked in the kitchen, and she reported that all the burgers come from the same beef, with an appropriate amount of fat (which is the way a good burger should be). I was satisfied with the answer, and as I mentioned, I did enjoy my burger. I feel the practice of listing a burger as «Prime Steak» is a little deceptive. But if you love bacon, order the bacon cheeseburger.

I remember when this place used to be Piccadilly pub and since has carried the same vibe, décor, similar menu and feel. I like to get the fish and chips with a side of pale ale beer. Great convo and quick service makes this place ideal.

Guess I was trying to push the bad thoughts away… lol!!!
Bad food all around, every time… have tried them three times & honestly for us, it was three times too many.
Not sure what this place thinks «fresh» is but they clearly haven’t a clue. The food is far far far from what I would call fresh.
Anyhow…be your own judge but to me, I’m surprised they are still in business!

Stopped here with a few co workers & was pleasantly surprised! Everything seemed made to order & fresh.
Will absolutely return to this place! :)

My husband and I decided on a night out for dinner. We normally go to the same old place — nothing new. We found this place and decided to try it out.
The places was empty — but being a Monday 5:40PM it was ok!
Rick loves mozzarella sticks — and so do I so we went with that! As well as the pretzel sticks, because those are just awesome! They came out — and oh boy they were AMAZING!!! Just so great!
I chose the fajita salad and my husband chose his favorite a chicken parm.
My salad was perfect, the chicken could of been a little bit warmer but the salad and the bowl and everything was great!
His dish was in a bowl, that is so strange because there was a lot of food and in order to cut the chicken he had to use the side of the bowl. He likes sweet sauce and this sauce was chunky and tangy… but still okay!
We will go again for sure!
Very excited about the new location opening up in Billerica come April!

My brother suggested this place, so we hooked up there.
Had the Balsamic Salmon with broccoli and rice pilaf. A couple of Sam Adams Summer Ale’s too. Very good on all ends.
Service was great, arrived at 7 pm on Friday night, no wait.
Parking can get tight if they are busy, but a few steps away is much more parking as they are attached to a strip mall.
I’ll be back.
A few TV’s outside the bar area to watch the game on.
MOSTLY booth style service, very few tables with free chairs.
