I tried this place after getting off work and thought my pad Thai was really good. The portions were very big and I had enough to eat it for the lunch the next day. Definitely will come and try other out things on the menu.

Ive eaten here several times and I like it more and more every time. They have a wide variety of delicious plates that are moderately priced. If you haven’t tried this place you really should.

The lettuce wraps are delicious and the pan fried dumplings are the best I’ve had. I’ve only been disappointed once but more because of my own tastes than any failure on their part. I love the coconut soup too. The owner and staff are quiet but quick and helpful.

Amazing food and service. We even had some Thai-food virgins who just fell in love with this place too. I highly reccomend the red curry and seafood soup!

I was in the mood for Chinese so I checked out what Unilocalers had to say about restaurants in TC. So seeing how many great reviews Basil House had, I knew that Thai would equally suffice. I ordered coconut soup with chicken and Spicy Thai fried rice with beef. So delish! Rice so flavorful and good heat to it, not a lot of meat for those who prefer, but was fine for me. I thought it was kinda pricey at $ 20 on one hand, but it’s so much food, I was stuffed after a few bites and will have more than plenty left, too bad I’m not huge on leftovers. So happy I gave this place a try… thx fellow Unilocalers!

Lettuce wraps: Lots of fried bread crumbs mixed in with a tiny bit of chicken. Too crunchy. Panang Curry: Way too salty. Drunken noodles: Very good. Waiter a bit stiff and robotic.

This is an unusually good, Mom & Pop, Thai restaurant. Every dish I have tried is great and the coconut soup is just fantastic. Friendly attentive service, cooked to order with your specified amount of heat. If you like Thai food you will enjoy this restaurant.

The Pad Thai is very good, the service is quick and pleasant and the only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is that I think things are about 1 star more expensive than they should be. Still, easily worth the stop.

Pretty good food all the way around. Most restaurants doesn’t have a constant taste with each dish, but basil house does a great job at it. Never had a complaint.

ive had the chicken phở and spring rolls the phở broth was a bit off… not as magical as ive had at other Vietnamese places. it didnt make me feel wonderful after because it lacked flavor… wasn’t sure if the chicken was not a GMO… it was really really white… too white. the spring rolls are good. small but good. im not going to give up on BH until ive had more to eat from there

We are so happy to have found a local Thai spot. You can tell it’s family run, which makes for a «homey» experience. Good food at reasonable prices. Red curry(chicken) was good, lots of veggies… almost too many bell peppers. I might try the creamy red curry next time, to get a better meat/veggie ratio. Coconut soup was awesome… ordered it with tofu, and I heard a to-go customer order it with fried tofu(will have to try). Boyfriend liked his pork dish enough to not have left-overs. We’ll definitely be returning.

Local jewel. Since moving to the area I have fallen in love with this place. The appetizers are truly unique and the phở is to die for! Prices are very good and service is usually very quick.

It had been nearly 13 years since I had last come to this thai restaurant. Not much had changed I’d say. I came for lunch and was able to take advantage of their lunch specials. For $ 8, I picked the thai basil with beef. The waitress didn’t ask how spicy I wanted the dish as do most restaurants in Houston. By the time I was able to ask her, the dish was being plated. Thai basil — my regular dish to order when visiting a new thai restaurant. Beef was tender, dish had plenty of onion and bell pepper, even a red onion or two and plenty of basil leaves. No jalapeños though. Rice was cooked well. Also comes with a small garden salad topped with peanut sauce. Although the waitress said it was spicy, I’d give it maybe 1⁄5. Their prices aren’t outrageous, but maybe a tad high for the area. This is the only thai restaurant in the area, so they can basically set their prices. Pro tip: If you don’t like thai, they also have some vietnamese dishes.

First visit and most certainly not the last! We had the Thai Lettuce Wraps which were SO good. It is plenty big enough to be a meal, which we were unaware of before ordering. We both ordered Phở, and the chef was very accommodating to pan fry up some tofu for me instead of beef(a preference for me). The tofu was cooked perfectly. Had I not already been a bit stuffed from the appetizer, I would have finished the bowl completely. Yum!

Very fresh food Had the coconut chicken/mushroom soup which was very nice.(I even ordered one togo for later!) Next was my entrée which I must have not paid attention when ordering. Forgot the name, but it was a wide ribbon noodle dish with spicy tomato sauce. Plate was HUGE! Not complaining about it at all. It’s probably good enough for two people or one someone extremely hungry. It needed a little bit of salt or soy sauce, but still very fresh and flavorful. When the heat of the spice started to kick in, the Thai milk tea was a perfect way to calm it down.(Also a great dessert drink!) Overall I will say I enjoyed my first visit and would return if I’m ever in the area again. Would recommend!

We eat here quite a bit. The staff is always wonderful. Friendly, courteous, fast. The food is always fresh, and tastes home cooked. I eat here at least 2 times a week and have never been disappointed. My favorites are any of the soups, the fried Tofu, and any of the BUN dishes. Service is always prompt and friendly. I’m always treated like a friend every time I walk in the door. They remember what dishes I’ve tried, which ones I’ve really liked. I’m always freezing in restaurants and the temperature is always perfect for me.
