Their food is great but a little pricey, definitely a place to visit. You should try everything on the menu at least once.

A friend recommended Boyd’s to me and since it was my first time to the dike we had to stop. The food was amazing, and they had some of the biggest coconut shrimp I’ve ever seen. You can’t go wrong with seafood straight from the source. I’ll definitely will be going back.

We went to try this out after fishing. The female cashier was less than friendly and refused to accept my friend’s change. «I don’t need that.» I thought she just didn’t want to do the math after the register was already open. When it was my turn, I tried to give her the exact amount with change before entering the amount into the register, she refused and gave me the exact answer, «I don’t need that.» She still was out of coins to give me back change when all this time I had the exact amount. I did not see why she would not accept coins as a method of payment. Second i received the crawfish and the seasoning of them were too salty. I compared mine to my friends and mone were orange compared to my friends whose were red. The seating is very limited, so beware. Yes the pricing may be great, but i will think twice before buying food here.

We’ve stopped in twice on our trips to Galveston for their $ 2 /lb crawfish on Tuesday nights. You really can’t beat it! My hubby and I get 9 lbs + 2 orders of potatoes for under $ 25. Our last visit seemed a little on the salty side, but still delicious. They don’t sell anything but crawfish on Tuesdays and they have very limited seating. If you have kids make sure to stop and grab them a kids meal beforehand and send someone to grab the next available table while you wait in line.

Took advantage of their $ 1.98lb crawfish special posted on FB this past Wednesday. We drove their while on Spring Break in Galveston. Crawfish was tasty and not too salty nor over boiled. The size were medium and shell perfect for sucking the heads. I only wished I could have requested a garlic flavored and a little extra spice. But given there was a long line we didn’t have a choice nor did I want to wait longer than we had. The people that worked there were friendly given how busy they were. I plan to go back if I’m ever in the area again. They also sell live crawfish and fresh shrimp.

Will never go back. Way over priced. Have to ask for everything I ordered multiple times. Def do not go for their already cooked crawfish unless they have a special price going on. It is cooked well and tastes very good but you get nothing with it and as I’ve said before it was way over priced. I also to wait in line to ask for the drinks I ordered for 15 mins. Horrible experience! I do hear they have very cheap uncooked crawfish you can cook yourself at home. I would recommend Pooks for crawfish if you’re in the Galveston county area.

Just went to pick up some fresh shrimp… this is pre frozen crap. We are trying to peel these and this is gross. I have no idea how old this is but it’s by far the worst crap I have gotten sold as fresh. disgusting

I love this place! Nothing fancy here, just really good, affordable food. Super clean kitchen, and incredibly friendly staff. Its now my favorite place in this area. Try their crabby patties.

Returned and tried the blackened shrimp tacos. They are made similar to the Baja California way, not the lame houston way(with lettuce… lol), so they’re actually pretty good. Shredded cabbage, chipotle sauce, thick white corn tortilla, pico de gallo, squeeze of lime… yummo!

The best seafood dive in the Bay Area. Don’t stress over what to order. Get what you want. It’s all good! We had Boyd’s platter, oyster po-boy, fish sandwich and all the fantastic sides this time. Fabulous tartar and red sauce. I’m going to order coconut shrimp next time.

Absolutely the best fish sandwich, po boy, and coconut fried shrimp you will find in south Texas. A must visit if you get in the area. Prices are beyond reasonable and the service is great.

What a great surprise when a couple hot, salty fisherman returning from the boat ramp on the Texas City Dike spotted a thatched roof take-out restaurant on the end of best bait shop on the gulf coast, Boyd’s Bait. I was aware that Jason Cogburn, the enterprising owner, had been also selling fresh fish and crawfish as of late, so it was a natural fit opening the restaurant — and we were hungry, wet, salty and pulling a boat. A smiling Iris took our order after we pulled into the large, sunny parking lot and found an out door table to sit down. I saw an elderly couple and another satisfied younger fisherman working on their big, beautiful hamburgers. But it was the delicious fried coconut shrimp and the even better crunchy, golden fried juicy Mississippi Fried Catfish that got our attention and our raves. Always looking for the world’s best fish taco, I was amazed. Upon leaving, Iris assured us we could call in an order from the boat ramp at the end of the Dike and it would be ready when we arrived. She also talked us into some off-the-menu seafood gumbo to go. As full as I was, my thoughts of a bait shop having the freshest of seafood and enjoying some more of their great cooking was intriguing. Once home I found the gumbo was hearty, spicy and full of seafood, and should be added to the menu PRONTO! I stopped at only 4 stars because I like horseradish for my ketchup on my fried catfish and shrimp and there could be a few more tables at this young business — BUT I’LLBEBACK. Well, 2 years have passed — it’s the end of 2015. LeeAnn, then John have shown me the great food keeps on keeping on. Add to the above raves all the burgers, and a seriously over stuffed shrimp and oyster poor boy. Still calling my orders in leaving the boat ramp to sit down 10 minutes later, and still a big fan.
