Go at peak times, 12pm for lunch, 6pm for dinner, or else there are only leftovers. I went recently at 2:30pm, the food looked old and picked over. The waiter never acknowledged me or refilled my drink. Never my choice as a place to dine, but for some reason my family & visitors want to go there.

The food is always good for buffet. The servers are friendly. The district Manger needs to put some love into maintance. The ice cream machine has been down since we started coming here. Love the game room.

I haven’t been to a Ryan’s since the 90s. They have virtually disappeared and this one should join them. Canned, tasteless food and terrible desserts. I definitely will not return.

The servers where attentive but the quality of food is poor. It is a buffet so I really shouldn’t of thought otherwise. Not a bad place for an all you can eat. Not a place I would eat at often

Every now and then, hubby and I enjoy going where the food is yummy and so is the price. This week we chose Ryan’s Steakhouse in Texas City. The food is always fresh and the serving tables are kept full. One of the items we dearly relish is their fried chicken. It comes as close to tasting like homemade we have ever encountered. The side dishes are all well seasoned and taste wonderful. Soul food sides include collard greens, steamed cabbage, blackeyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and baby Lima beans. The salad bar has a large selection of varied ingredients to tickle any palate. There is always an assortment of breads. Everything from hot rolls to cornbread, and fresh baked biscuits. The only spot in the restaurant that is at all«iffy» is the dessert bar. During peak hours on a busy day, it is usually loaded with everything from cakes, pies cobblers to staples such as fresh cookies to soft-serve ice cream. If you happen to be there during off hours, the selection is severely limited. We always get a take-out order of the fried chicken to go. It still tastes great cold the next day. The servers usually are quite attentive and ready to refill your beverage or serve extra hot rolls.

We went back again figured perhaps things changed — it was worse. The filth I saw made me sick just wondering if the bakery that is out in public view was that nasty and decrepit I could only imagine what the kitchen looked like. They had dirty dishes stacked up not even 1 ft from plates with pies on them. A pitcher of what looked like soapy water with random utensils and baking utensils soaking in it on the counter right near where they are serving food!!! I could not find a clean plate that didn’t look like crusty old food was glued to it. How can the health department not close this place down??? Better question how does a manager over look such vile disgusting mess?

The restaurant had an odd smell, kind of like a skating rink or something. The food was typical buffet food… It’s Ryans. Salad bar was very good and our server Domingo was excellent and I recommend asking for her!

The only thing this place had going for it was the fresh rolls. Sorry to say but the food left quite a bit to be desired… I ended up with a couple Swedish meatballs, some instant mash potato and a salad; none of which was very good.

Uh calling this a Steakhouse should be illegal. Nuf said! Quite possibly the worst breakfast buffet I have ever endured. Let me explain: Eggs — rubbery Waffles — rubbery Sausage — rubbery Getting the point?

Great place for a family style Sunday dinner. Love this buffet with all hot choices roasted and fried chicken, fried fish, popcorn shrimp, meatloaf, lots of hot veggies, loved the okra. Great salad bar with all the fixings and homemade desserts great cobbler, pecan pie and my favorite carrot cake! Loved the hot rolls they bring to the table with your drinks. Good value! Will be back when in the neighborhood.
