Excellent doctor! Throughout this humbling experience I have come to appreciate not only his expertise but his compassion and that of his office manager, Tanya. Two months ago I was incorrectly diagnosed with external hemorrhoids. The severity of the pain was shocking since I had never experienced this problem before. I went to the Emergency Room and the doctor there explained that the hemorrhoids were not thrombosed (meaning a blood clot) and did not require incision or draining. He prescribed Anusol suppositories and sitz baths, and said that they would resolve on their own. Another week went by and things were worse not better. After much research, I found Dr. Rosenfeld. Being an RN helped tremendously in what to look for in his credentials. He background was impressive being a double board certified surgeon and proctologist, so I made an appointment and was able to see him the next morning.
Upon examination he immediately knew my problem was an abscess and performed the necessary procedure then and there in his office. During the procedure he realized I had a fistula that required surgery. I made an appointment with the surgical center (which I will also be leaving a review on Unilocal about). They were wonderful and incredibly well organized. Having read far too much about the procedure on the Internet, and the pain involved, I was definitely anxious. The minute I got there I was able to relax because I knew I was in great hands. Dr Rosenfeld explained exactly what he would be doing, and before I knew it, the surgery was done. He spoke with me after the surgery and answered all of my questions.
It has been two weeks since my surgery and I am so much better than I ever expected! The pain is definitely manageable and I’m driving and living life and improving every day.
If anyone is reading this review, it is because, like me, you’re in need of help. Do not hesitate. Call Dr. Rosenfeld and put your trust in him. That is what I did and I am living proof that it was the right thing to do.
Thank you Dr. Rosenfeld, Tanya and the staff at the Aspen Surgical Center. You’ve given me my life back. I will recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Rosenfeld suggested that patients aren’t eager to announce their need to visit a proctologist, as it apparently is not a «cool» doctor’s visit to describe. Before meeting Dr. Rosenfeld for the first time, I was intrigued by the glowing patient reviews on the Internet. I was impressed by his office, Receptionist Tanya, and especially with Dr. Rosenfeld. In the well-​appointed waiting room one can view informative videos of the doctor’s TV presentations on «The Doctor’s,» while sipping coffee or water, along with a fiber snack bar. The doctor’s calm approach to addressing the problem, left this patient relieved to learn that it was not only common, but easily resolved. Thank you very much, Dr. Rosenfeld, for calming my fears.

My Boss Steven Silver has suggested that this is the best Doctor ever. This is a gifted individual, I heard nothing but high praise for Dr. Rosenfeld.

For the past 12 years I have been bleeding from the rectum, and have had 4 colonoscopies, so those doctors KNEW I had bad hemorrhoids but never told me there were specialists called «proctologists» who could help remove the hemorrhoid. Dr. Rosenfeld was a lifesaver. I have seen 10 GI doctors and a naturopath ($ 400 out of pocket) in the last 10 years for unknown IBD issues, and none have helped me as much as Dr. Rosenfeld. He first tried the less invasive Doppler-​guided procedure first, from which recovery was fairly fast, but unfortunately because of frequent diarrhea from the IBD, one painful hemorrhoid came back. Once I made the decision to have full surgery in his office with only local anesthetic (and I consider myself a «baby»), I found it was tolerable and he and the staff were amazing and extremely comforting. They even gave me apple juice to make sure I was okay during the procedure and constantly asked if I was okay – unlike other doctors who talk about their golf game during surgeries. Recovery from actual hemorrhoidectomy is tougher and longer than the Doppler surgery, but so worth it for me. Besides ridding me of my painful hemorrhoid, he gave me the only helpful advice to help my severe gut symptoms by suggesting I take Konsyl fiber once or twice a day, which was like a miracle in helping my symptoms become less intense. This one thing alone has helped me more than all the medications prescribed by all the previous GI doctors! I especially appreciate his caring manner – most doctors look at me like I’m a mentally unable, drug-​seeking patient, which is far from the truth. He takes a condition that no one wants to talk about seem normal and okay to discuss. I’ve even been able to tell several friends that I had this surgery and not feel embarrassed (okay, maybe a little). I also LOVE his new office in Thousand Oaks, and his staff are all very nice. I’ve never had to wait long enough to even get my book out to read.
Bottom line is, this doctor is amazing and probably the best proctologist in So Cal at the very least, when you consider his medical skills and «bedside manner.» If you are not familiar with him, he has been on The Doctors’ TV show a few times. I know the nay-​sayers on Unilocal were upset about his not taking insurance, but I was able to get a waiver for out-​of-​network from my insurance (give your insurance company a call ahead of time) and they paid well for the office visit, but not as well for surgery (I was out-​of-​pocket about $ 500 for surgery total), but still worth it. Think how much you have to pay just to get a crown on your tooth! Getting rid of constant, daily pain and bleeding is more than worth the cost. And they are upfront about what the costs are, so you can always check with your insurance about what your reimbursement will be. I could have gone to a doctor who took my insurance (you do have to pay up front with Dr. Rosenfeld, but they billed my insurance and I was reimbursed by check from my insurance company within 2 – 3 weeks), but I wanted the best medical care possible in such a sensitive area, and I am SO glad I didn’t go to a different doctor just because they would take my insurance. The extra care and expertise at this office is worth every penny.
BTW, he moved from an old building in Simi Valley to a very nice office in Thousand Oaks near the 101 and Moorpark Road, and there are free fiber bars and Keurig coffee in the waiting room, a nice touch.

Oh my goodness… Where to begin. Awesome, smart and friendly Dr and wonderful staff is so good at putting you at ease. I was always seen promptly, he spent as much time as I needed and gave me literature to read which was interesting as well as humorous. My surgery was successful so he took me from extreme agony all the way to normal returning all my neurotic phone calls along the way. This is the best medical practice I’ve been to since I have moved to California. They rock!

My GP referred me to Dr Rosenfeld for a thrombosis Hemorrhoid which was a bit scary and uncomfortable. Dr Rosenfeld inspected it and explained to me that he could puncture and drain or I could wait a couple of days and it would go away by itself! He said most patients choose to do nothing and let it go away by itself! How refreshing to have a doctor who isn’t pushing to do surgery just because he can!!! Love this doctor! And funny too!

I am 6 months pregnant and suffered for a week of a painful condition (which occurred on December 30^th so no doctor was available or returned my calls until Friday). I had seen a nurse on a centre nearby my house and they told that because I am pregnant I had to live with the condition as they did not feel comfortable in advising anything else that home remedies until I gave birth. I did not want to live with an excruciating pain for the next 3 months so I looked further online and I found Dr Rosenfeld. I called on New Year’s Day, left a message and I got a call the following morning at 8.25. They scheduled an appointment for the following working day. They told me in advance what insurance was eligible. Mine worked.
So I showed up at the office and after a bit of wait I saw the doctor. He made a diagnosis in 5 minutes and then offered me the option of a local impromptu surgery. I wanted nothing else but this pain to go away so after 1 hour From stepping into the office I was medicated and ready to go home. Problem solved.
The bill was around $ 800 ($ 200 consultation, $ 800 surgery) but in my opinion, and with my insurance situation, totally worth it. If I could I would have done it earlier and saved myself a week of terrible pain.
What I liked about the doctor was that he works with many pregnant patience so he knows what to do in this case. Other centre might send you away, I believe because they are incompetent.

As fabulous as a visit to a proctologist can be. I was in a lot of pain, and they were able to get me in quickly, and take care of the problem. Very professional, office staff were super! Dr. R called me himself the next day to check on me.

I had been having a problem with hemorrhoids for 6 plus months and did not seek medical help for fear of the unknown. My hesitation in seeking help made one problem turn into two and I was then extremely uncomfortable and miserable. Then I saw Dr. Rosenfeld’s ad in Welcome to the Neighborhood. As I stated to his assistant, I believe it was God sent. I called his office and made an appointment.
When approaching the door of his office for my appointment, I had so much anxiety I felt I was going to be sick. Once inside the comfortable space, I found his staff to be very attentive. I waited not more than 5 minutes and was shown to a room by his assistant. She asked me a few questions and eased my anxiety. Dr. Rosenfeld entered the room and introduced himself and asked how I was. I remember stating «I would rather be anywhere than here.» In hindsight that was not very polite on my part but he took it in stride. In just a few moments, I knew I was in the right place.

Dr. Rosenfeld is simply the best. He is extremely compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough. He gives you his undivided attention and spends as much time with you as needed. He’s passionate in educating you as well as treating/​healing you.
Revisiting his office, validated my feelings … he is the real deal! I came away with interesting bits of knowledge and no more problems «down there.»
Quit with your suffering… go see Dr. Rosenfeld! You will be happy you did!

Had a procedure done recently and I am very satisfied with the outcome, couldnt be any happier I must say, office staff are very friendly answer all your questions they make you feel comfortable especially latanya very happy having her around, doctor was amazing please do not hesitate to give this place a try Im glad I did. My opinion those 2 bad reviews I have to disagree, the ignorance of ppl these days ugh!

Great MD. Affiliated with USC Medical School. Never had a billing problem. Cash, Insurance or Cash and Insurance. Cash gets more respect like most everywhere else.

I must start by saying someones inability to understand a very simple billing process that’s clearly discussed with you on the phone before you visit, or while you’re there, gives no justification for writing a negative review. That’s pathetic, not only have you made yourself look bad, you’ve unfairly labeled a very professional, competent, and pleasant Dr with your negative review.
They don’t initially take your insurance here unless you have Medicare. The office will submit your bill once «paid» by you, directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Reimbursement may come directly to you or to their office. If they receive «your» reimbursement, you will receive it.
Is that hard to understand?
I was recommended to Dr Rosenfeld by my regular doctor. So as I normally would, I called and made an appointment. It was the next day! Something I’m not normally used to when visiting a specialist. Now the Building doesn’t look like much, and as most of us know, «diamonds are found in the rough». I easily found the Suite #. for Dr. Rosenfeld. His office is clean and comfy, the staff was very pleasant as well.
I showed up with a problem that I have struggled with for over a year. After trying many home remedies with no success I looked for a specialist. Dr. Rosenfeld was able to treat me on the spot which immediately gave me relief. He also gave me all the tools necessary to heal myself quickly.
I couldn’t be happier with the visit.

Dr. Rosenfeld saved my son’s life! Back in May of this year, my son went into the outpatient surgical center for a routine procedure. Dr. Rosenfeld was not our scheduled doctor that day. Suddenly, and without warning, what started as routine, quickly turned life threatening! Without hesitation, Dr. Rosenfeld, stopped whatever he was doing at that moment, to assist in the operating room. Thank god! There was never a discussion about our medical insurance, nor any of the associated costs. He was there to help stop the bleeding, and to insure my son was going to be OK! Now it is the end of August, my son has returned to school, and life goes on. My family will never be able to thank Dr. Rosenfeld enough for his quick responsiveness, his skill as a surgeon, and his endless patience with my family over the last 3 months. I am very pleased to share our story with anybody who cares to know. Lastly, I have read some other posts which accuse Dr. Rosenfeld’s office staff of being unfair, or too business like… Could not have been further from the truth for our family! Dr. Rosenfeld fixed what other doctors couldn’t. He and his staff are trained professionals in this field and he has great training to fix complex issues. A must see if you need help.

No need to be scared or nervous knowing that you have a doctor that truly cares and can communicate with you.

Found Dr. Rosenfeld through a Google and set appointment. When the day came I found the office very easily and was greeted by a very friendly front desk. The nurse took me to the room and asked me some general questions and left. The doctor came into the room within 5 minutes– no long wait.
The doctor was very proffessional but also friendly. He asked me questions and listened to my answers– I am hate doctors that look more at the chart than the patient. The doctor did NOT rush through the vistit– I had a list of questions and he took the time to answer all of them. From my visit I gained full trust that he was looking out for my best interst and didn’t see me as another student loan payment.
