Got the two meat platter. Food was like home cooking. Staff was new but friendly. Will be back to try the lunch special.

I love the bbq here. Everything I’ve had is wonderful. The best meats are the Brisket and Polish Sausage. Also, the chicken breast is surprisingly amazing.

This place is a model store. It is very clean. I like the fact that the owner works side by side with his employees. He’s very friendly and makes sure his store is run top notch. I had the brisket sandwich with a few sides and the food tasted excellent.

We were excited to eat at Dickies as it was at least 10 months in r making. Really cool looking place! When we arrived, there was one family dining and one couple in front of us ordering. We stood in line for over 15 minutes placing out orders. Mind you, there was 5 adults and two kids but, it was one check. This place has, hands down, THEWORST ordering system I have ever seen. Moreover, the person taking our order is 2 – 3 feet away from the other person putting the order together and they could not communicate with each other. It would have been faster if the person taking our order stopped and made the order himself. Ugh! All that money put into the restaurant yet, they had a bunch of teenagers running the store with little experience and even less customer service skills. The food: it was just okay.

In the mood for really good BBQ but short on time? Well this is the place for you! Outstanding BBQ at a fair price served quick. I love the smokey flavor of the meats. Ribs are the best but turkey and brisket is great too. Like to see more vegetable offerings for«sides». Service is also top notch. The«all you can eat» soft serve is also a nice touch!

Just walked out after not being served or even acknowledged for at least 10 minutes. They were not even busy, only one customer ahead of us, but only one staffer behind the counter at a time(they switched off while we were waiting). Saturday night at 7:20pm… So we went next door to TO Fish and Chips, and were quickly greeted and served. Dickey’s food is good, but service tonight was atrocious. We rarely walk out, but it was really that bad.

Clean restaurant in which you walk up and place your order. Daily specials and combo items to choose from. I got the two meat combo with their cheese sausage and brisket. Two sides chosen was the okra and jalapeño beans. Sausage_was very good Brisket– good and tasty Beans– did not like at all Okra– just plain and breading was tasteless The highlight of my meal was the free soft serve ice cream cone you make at the soft serve machine. It was YUMMY!

I got the pork hoggie for $ 6.25– it’s a small sandwich perfect size for me with a side of fried okra. Sunday’s it’s kids eat free with every Adult entrée purchase and they can pick between chicken tenders, sandwich, meat plate– she choose two ribs with mac and cheese and a piece of bread and she loved it. They have big party trays you can order for large groups. The mash with green onions, sour cream and cheese on top is very tasty. They have a long list of side dishes and a variety of meats from Ham, Pork, Ribs and more to choose from. Monday-Saturday they have meals of the day that includes a meaty sandwich with sides and they go for $ 10 – 11 bucks. They also have free soft serve… :) and you can catch the football game.

I have been here about 3 times… and somehow was not invited to the Unilocal event here. Not sure why not. Still waiting to get an answer about that, but let’s jump into this review shall we. Environment: Usually pretty empty, but I have only been here at night. Good layout and nice place for drinks, condiments, etc. Employees: I have always got the same employee, Michael I believe his name is… He is amazing and always a bright shining smile ready to greet customers. The guy in the back is also pretty good. John I believe his name was. Michael and John are just a dynamic duo. The Dickey’s Duo one might say. Food: The good is alright. It’s hard to find good BBQ in Ventura county for some reason, and Dickey’s comes somewhat close. They have good sides and their meat is alright(tastes kind of pre-prepared). The pulled pork or brisket are both good in my experience, and the Mac N’ Cheese would be a great side. Problems: But here is where I have some problems… the serving size are small. Smaller than 3-piece Chicken Nugget at Wendy’s and for the price it’s unbelievable. We got a family pack that was apparently able to feed 4 – 6 people. It fed me and my sister, I had to fend off the rest of my family to get any of the brisket and I felt like I was actually in the Wild West. Maybe this the feel they were trying to go for. The price for this pack was almost $ 70… That’s $ 35 per a person. So if you are looking to blow and entire paycheck that Michael and John make in one day, then Dickey’s is the place for you. Otherwise it might be wise to find other BBQ in Ventura County… and let me know when you find it. Get Classy Dickey’s.

There’s been a few of these joints popping up around me lately. Finally one night we decided to give this newest one, in Westlake a go. One thing I appreciate of Dickey’s is the cleanliness. It’s almost clean to a point of being sterile which isn’t a bad thing in my opinion. Ordering your food is cafeteria style where the main dish is ordered, then sides are then dished out, and finally the cash register. Food: Our group shared the ham plate, baby back rib plate, and the pulled pork. Along with a variety of sides my overall assessment is that the food is somewhat bland but not bad. The ribs had plenty of spice and flavor but the meat was on the dryer side. The ham was nothing special and seemed like it was precooked then reheated. Pulled pork was decent but again it was on the dryer side. BBQ sauce is a must so thankfully Dickey’s as a few varieties to please most. The free soft serve was a nice touch although it was a bit icy. Guess I can’t really complain about something being free… Overall Dickey’s earned a solid 3 stars. I’ve definitely had better but I could see myself coming back one day.

Fast food BBQ place with great service and high quality food. The smoked chicken is smoked in-house(like all of their meats) and has great flavor. I also love their mac & cheese. Good beer selection — they even have some favorites I normally can only find at Costco. They also have soft-serve ice-cream in the back with the sodas so be sure not to miss it. Good BBQ sauces: House, sweet, and spicy. Try all 3!

It’s a fast food BBQ place. Born out of Texas, I’ve been to a few out there and more than a few times to one at the Dallas airport. This location is built up really nice, and far outweighs the Texan counterparts I’ve seen and eaten at. Perhaps some of the low reviews are due to the young service, and while others, price related. The area dictates a higher level, so the franchise may want to consider a more mature staff. Chicken — Pulled Pork — Brisket — Ribs — Cheddar Sausage — Summer Sausage =========================================================== What do you fancy? It’s sliced and diced to order. A cafeteria type setup, order at the front and step right to the right to pay. No table service. What did I order? ============= A 3 item combo plate with 2 sides for $ 15.95. I chose the Pulled Pork(4.5 stars), the Brisket(4.0 stars), and the Cheddar Sausage(5.0 stars). All the meats faired well. The sides: Green Beans(3.0 stars) and Mac & Cheese(3.5 stars), faired a lot lower. Summary ======== It’s a cute, no hassle, place. No draft beers, but bottles of a few kinds go rather nicely with BBQ. The price point is a few dollars more than Texas, but this won’t stop me from getting my BBQ fix when I need it.

I wanted to like this place i really did seeing as its literally up the street from house. We don’t have a good local BBQ place in TO and i was hoping Dickies would change that but this was my first and probably last time there. CUSTOMERSERVICE: The customer service was good, The place looked clean, and everyone working there was very nice but thats about the only redeeming quality i can mention. SETUP: Its set up like a cafeteria style, where you walk down a line telling them what you want. Overall its just an awkward setup but its not that big of a deal. They keep all the ‘sides’ already made in a big drawer and draw out one little scoop like ice cream for each side which is kind of unappetizing. VALUE: THEPORTIONSIZEISCOMPLETELYLAUGHABLE! I understand we live in Thousand Oaks and people probably make a little more out here than in other areas but that doesn’t mean they should charge double the price per meal. Neither you or the person you are with will be full after you pay $ 30+ meal. You can go to Bandits or Wood Ranch and expect to pay the same amount for 2 people. They charge nearly $ 13 bucks(No drink) for those 2 little sides and that tiny sandwich(big bbq) that would be small for a kids meal. If you want a bigger sandwich? Too bad, you have to spend another $ 7 or $ 8 to get one. The smaller sandwich is only a dollar less so they make it so it doesn’t make sense to get that one. They also meticulously measure out think 6 or 7 measly ounces of meat and make sure you dont get .0001 ounce more. That $ 8 sandwich should be like 3 or 4 bucks and the meal with the 2 sides should be 8 or 9 bucks max. The stinginess is literally unreal. The size of their«large» sandwich is laughable and i doubt it would even be enough for a child. FOOD: For what i paid i expect Bandits quality meat. What i got was McRib quality meat. They dont even have trip-tip! I honestly don’t understand how they can call themselves a BBQ place and not have trip-tip but that’s not the point. The Brisket Sandwich i got was tough, very salty and a little dry and you need to be careful when chewing because i bite into a little bone(or something hard.) Also there is ZERO craft with this place. none whatsoever. They just slop on a little bit of brisket throw on an over sized onion and 2 pickles McRib style. That is not how you prepare a 13 dollar meal. The Mac and Cheese i got had a heavily artificial taste(like something you would get from a can at the market) and the potato casserole wasn’t very bland and not flavorful. Basic cafeteria food. CONDIMENTS: THe BBQ sauces weren’t too great and were either overly sweet or overly sugary. They have 3 flavors. The spicy was the best of the 3. Even the free ice cream they give out(in a desperate attempt to increase the value) is sub-par and can hardly be called ice cream. Probably the worst ice cream ive tried too lol. It was so bad i threw away my cone after a couple bites. This place needs to learn people dont care about the free ice cream, make the FOOD/MEAT better tasting and better value and people will be happy. CONCLUSION: Dont bother going here you will be disappointed and frustrated at the tiny portion size and mediocre meat. Take the extra 15 minutes and drive to Sossys, Billy D’s, or Green acres and get your money’s worth.

This probably one of the Best’s franchise locations of Dicky’s that I have ever eaten at. A plus. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious along with their sausage and their version of mashed potatoes, very good. The pork was so tender and most of all cooked to perfection. There where several things that stood out first. The greeting by the employees, very pleasant and most of all sincere. Recommendation, if you take your food to go. Put your sauces on the side especially the BBQ sauce. Know one wants to eat a soggy sandwich. They have a self-serve BBq sauce area with 3 different types of BBQ sauce, and of course and good selection of soda;s. The other thing that stood out was the organization and cleaningness of this establishment. Very important. Great Job to the management and staff. To Barry thanks for all your Delicious BBQ, keep up the good work.

I usually don’t write reviews for chains but this was quite a disappointment; this was our first time coming to Dickey’s even though they’re all over the place. I’ve heard enough about Dickey’s of not to expect anything great so weren’t expecting to be blown away. Dry BBQ, from the brisket, pulled pork, and to the turkey breast we ordered. I have friends from Texas, have traveled all over Texas, and have eaten at the best BBQ places — including Franklin BBQ. I could tell all of their meat had been sitting in the hot box way too long to the point of drying them out. I could tell their meats were somewhat smoked(smoke ring on their brisket wasn’t as pronounced as I’d like but did have bark) but the brisket had a weird aftertaste that I couldn’t quite pinpoint. The pulled pork was ok and the turkey breast was palatable to say the least. The somewhat saving grace was their BBQ sauces, which were ok. They get the extra star for effort of trying to bring Texas BBQ to TO. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody that’s had real Texas BBQ and we won’t be coming back. If you’re ever in Texas and want decent BBQ from a chain, go to Rudy’s. If you want the absolute best brisket on Earth then go to Franklin BBQ in Austin(I’ll give Mueller’s a distant second).

Very good smoked meat. I thought it a bit expensive compared to other bbq, but thats the area for you. Had brisket and pulled pork. The smoke flavor was great. I wish i had tried the sausage as another table had it and was raving about it. Next time i want to try the Okra. Im picky so i was brave enough till i saw it. I love their tea. I know it is strange to bring this up in a bbq restaurant, but everywhere i go anymore has tea that is so diluted by the time you add ice that you might ad well get water. Their tea was perfect with ice!

Pre-Opening Report(Opens Thursday, July 30th). Great Food and Excellent Service! I’m in a wheelchair and some one opened the door and pushed me to the counter where I ordered the 2 Meat/2 Side meal. Served with a pickle and onion and all steaming hot as you would expect. Jordan, the Store Manager, was extremely friendly as was the entire staff. When I was done, they pushed me back out. Big Opening Deals Thursday-Sunday. Enjoy!
