I have seen the Dr. for medical issues and purchased glasses here. It is absolutely excellent eye care. The Dr. took his time and explained everything to me so that I understood what was going on. The same was true for purchasing glasses. The Dr. took his time with the exam and answered all of my questions so that I felt like I understood everything I needed to know. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely the best in professional care, client service and latest in style glasses. We moved here from Bay Area 7 years ago without a resource for our family’s vision care. The need for eye care happened due to a cooking accident I didn’t have time to scout around and within an hour I was being taken care by Dr Midson.
It is 7 years later the staff is the same and the best and the care beyond expectations. You cannot price shop with vision care especially when you are given informed alternatives.

I’m transferring elsewhere after coming here a few times, once for a regular exam and one emergency. I was happy enough with the doctor, but the front desk, each time I came in, was RUDE. As in, they would be talking to each other and not even look up at me to check me in. Once I even sat down in a waiting room chair for five minutes before anyone bothered to talk to me. I felt uncomfortable with the atmosphere. Dr. Midson seemed to echo the front desk and wasn’t overly friendly. For my emergency appointment, I had to bring my child with me and let’s just say it is NOT a kid friendly office. It is a beautiful office with a great selection of glasses, but I will be going elsewhere.

I’ve known Dr. Freedle for years. He is an excellent doctor willing to take the time to really explain things to you. While traveling in Portland (We are from California), my glasses broke. I called Dr, Freedle and he fit me in around his current appointments. Besides fixing my glasses, I saw his office carried some frames I have not seen in California so I bought a pair there. My wife was also impressed and bought a pair of sunglasses. Worth checking out.

Hmmm… I have never had to wait on lenses for a total of 2.5 months. Eye exam was just OK and the doctor seems to know at least the basics. The opticians say that it takes 10 days to two weeks for the lab to make and ship lenses (I got lenses in Corvallis within 3 days and they sent it to a lab in Montana!) First, the lab broke my frames after the optician assured me that this only happens «1% of the time». I really didn’t want to choose from their unimpressive selection of frames and like my designer bevel frames better. Next, they looked the world over and found my exact frame and replaced for free (therefore, 2 stars — otherwise 1 star). Next, they screwed up my prescription, thus sending the wrong lenses. Finally, they got the correct lenses, but the optician wasn’t in the office the day they notified me?!? If you have time on your hands, then these folks might be for you, but beware.

These guys are great. Most important: great and comprehensive approach to eye health. But beyond that, and almost as important, is the customer service — which seems geared towards families and professionals anxious to get the best eye care — but also juggling lots of balls like work and chasing their kids around to games and after school activities… I’ve never been to a clinic for any health care where the staff and doctors are so helpful in working around your schedule and understanding your needs. Dr. Midson’s patient manner put me totally at ease and makes appoints easy and painless.

This is where our company gets our safety glasses. If you’re looking for good glasses, this is one of the better stores in the area. They have good selection of colorful glasses. From Ralph Lauren to Nike.

I have already been to the Barbur location, and had an excellent experience.
I came to this location with a medical issue: a viral eye infection. I was able to see Clare Midson, the same optometrist that fitted me for my new contacts and completed my eye exam.
The staff here is so friendly. Clare is really friendly, professional, and great. She helped me figure out why my eye was killing me (literally, at times I wanted to just yank it out, but the rational part of my brain clearly won and I kept the eyeball).
I was able to get in and out so quickly, and picked up my drops within 20 minutes.
They have a great selection of eyeglasses, if that is what you are looking for. Again, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this office for your eye care needs (or the Barbur location too!)

Excellent Doctors ! Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, helpful, and they have an amazing selection of frames AND sunglasses. I have seen Doctor Midson for years. This clinic will take great care of your needs.

AMAZING!!! Everyone who I have come in contact with at this awesome place have been wonderful and informational. The doctors are friendly and careful not to leave out any detail. Dr. Wolf worked with my shy 7 year old and by the end she was chatting up a storm with her and not afraid to do any of the tests as she was when we first got there. I called on a Saturday and spoke with Eric Freedle, OD about my daughters eyes being a little sore still and he shared his knowledge on what was going on and advice on how to remedy it! The facilities are clean and tidy with lots of fun art to look at too! Just as a little side note that made me all the more in love with this place is the yummy chocolate candies at the desk, not that scary hard candy that gets stuck in your teeth and makes you wonder how old it really is…
Anyway, it was a really comforting, child friendly and easy appointment and I actually became a member of Unilocal just so I could write a review for this great place!!!
