Cute tiny park with a fun historical plaque and a bench to sit and think at.

Windmill Park is the original site of a 160 acre homestead farm of Edward and Ann Margret Grabel Wood in 1866. The Windmill was built around 1900 by Chris Christensen who at the time was a farm hand but would end up being a future son-in-law to the family. The windmill was renovated in 1983 by local people who wanted to preserve it and the site was donated to the City of Tigard by Albert Christensen, the grandson of the original homesteaders. The windmill has been designated a National Historic Landmark. There is a plaque placed by a local Boy Scout named Edward Brown in 1999. Sadly, it looks like the windmill has been vandalized a bit at the doors and the top needs to be painted. It is a very small park but it might be okay for a picnic. There are no tables, benches or paths in the park. There are also no signs about hours the park closes or information about bringing your dog. The number 45 bus has a bus stop right next to the windmill.
