Burger Bar 419

I had a taste of this food from someone else’s plate. All I can say is the food is quality! The onion rings are delicious and the cut fries are on point!!! I will be trying it again soon. You won’t loose with this place! It’s a winner.

I went on a Saturday night and didn’t have to wait for seats. However, no one came to serve us until we waited 20 minutes and literally flagged a waiter down. They don’t wear any kind of uniform, so it’s hard to differentiate who works there and who’s a customer. The food itself was really great though and the size was a good portion.

Food was okay, but the service was very disappointing.
Food: burgers cooked properly, taste was pretty good but not amazing. At the table we had homemade fries and onion pedals for sides. Fries were far better, onion pedals were good till they cooled down and then we’re soggy. At least both are freshmade. Fried tomatoes appetizer was only okay.
Service: this was the really poor part of the evening. Took nearly an hour for our appetizer and food to come. Unfortunately both came out at the same time. Drinks took for ever as well… we only managed to get one drink order from the waitress before dinner as she said the bar was very backed up. However, when we went up to the bat on our own, we had drinks in less than 2 minutes. When the food came, our waitress didn’t wait long enough for a companion to get a missions condiment.
Overall, pretty disappointed.

Awesome. I had the Portobello Burger of course. This was a DOUBLE stacked, brie and tomato stuffed burger with greens. It was so large I had to cut it in half. This came with a side, which I went with the granny apple slaw. The food and price (14.48 with a drink) were spot on. Atmosphere was relaxed and the service was prompt and friendly.

Decent spot. Had lunch here one day. The burger was great, but the fries were soggy and extremely salty hence the 3*. I would try it again to see if it has improved just because the burger was so good.

First time there and it was a bad enough experience never to return. The burgers we got were meh at best and not cooked to order (twice). The mgr. Could of cared less. I heard so much good about this place but experienced nothing good. Won’t be around much longer I imagine.

The food was tasty. The service was ok, if lacking in personality. The efficiency of the kitchen was also lacking. We ordered the humus appetizer and it was good. Not great, but good and only took 20 minutes to come out. My husband ordered the pulled pork and the meat was juicy and tasty. I ordered the tuna and beet salad. The tuna was delicious. However the beets, although very flavorful were hard and difficult to eat. We waited almost 50 minutes for our dinner. Sitting at the bar we got to see the kitchen. I felt like we were watching in slow motion. They weren’t busy enough to warrant 50 minutes for a salad and a sandwich.

This place was mediocre at best. Appetizers were bland, and the burger left most of us with more to be desired. Had a party of twelve and only two of us had a pleasant experience; one had the Fat Elvis and the other had the fish. This trendy place could be top notch if they zing up there food with flavor.

Excellent find thanks to Unilocal.So my husband and I make the drive from Chicago to DC every holiday with our big dog. We drive on route 80 for 11 hours about 4 or five times a year. This area outside of Toledo is where we stop often given all of the restaurant choices in the area off 80. While this is a little trip off of the main road by 80, it is well worth it.
We went there for. quick bite tonight, mainly because I wanted to sit down somewhere (no fast food) and needed Wi-​Fi, which they have. The service was awesome thanks to the lovely Shelby, but also the food was fantastic!
There are so many options for burgers or you can build your own! She gave us great recommendations on the burgers, though after having the BBQ one and then the spicy one with steak sauce, I am certain you can do no wrong no matter what you choose.
The meat was fresh and good, and everything was served hot and not soggy which I loved. Their pickles are house made and THE BOMB. We will definitely be back again! Oh and Monday nights are half priced burgers and we didn’t even know it until Shelby told us– WIN!

This place WAS a great bar, now the prices have gone up and flavor has gone down. They took items off their menu and what is left isn’t even worth going there. We used to eat there a lot, but the last few times the food was cold, bland and the service was horrible. My husband is the quietest, most laid back person I have have met, even he said something to our server!

Pros:
Nice and helpful waitress, made sure we knew the specials.
Fries were awesome, homemade.
Cons: classic burger was juicy but had no seasoning and was flavorless.
Half priced burgers on Mondays but sides cost extra during this special so not really half off. Any other day sides included in burger prices.

A must visit staple in the 419! The menu is eclectic and local farm fresh quality meats and produce are a plus. Love the onion petals, the «Heater» burger and save room for a milkshake that will knock your socks off!

The burgers had good flavor. I had the Carolina BBQ and my husband created his own. We used the order online feature and got our order to go. This was very convenient and we appreciate this option.
My husband choose the onion petals as his side and by they time we ate them, 10 – 15 min after we picked them up, they were very soggy. The other issues was neither hamburger had ketchup and mine maybe had 1 dot of BBQ sauce. This is how we can say for certain the burger had good flavor because sans condiments it was still pretty delicious.
I had the homemade fries as a side and they were very thick and flavorful.

I generally liked this place. My boyfriend threw a hissy fit about the service though. My complaint is that I have an allergy to gluten (not intense, but still bad) and when I told the waitress that she ended up bringing me a regular, gluten bun. I’ve been gluten free for a while and I noticed immediately when looking at the bun. I know she didn’t do it on purpose, but still frustrating because allergies should be taken seriously.
My boyfriend and I both ordered a make your own burger, but they have many interesting burger combinations of their own. Avocado and bacon were $ 1 each to add to your burger, but they went fairly light on those. And I mean like 1 full piece of bacon and 2 slices of avocado. Definitely not a dollar’s worth at least. Otherwise the food was really good and fresh. Good quality bacon that was not cold like I saw in another review. I’m not a huge burger fan (I know how can I be an American?) so I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the burger.
The location was kind of strange, but the inside was cool. The bathrooms were modest, but clean.

Stopped in for lunch. The place is nice and trendy, a little loud for meetings. The building is old and you can tell it lacks maintenance in the lavatory department. No hot water for washing sucks especially when it’s 20 degrees outside.

I had to update my review after a few of my most recent experiences here and my review has gone from 5 stars to barely 2. This used to be my favorite place to go for some appetizers, drinks and amazing burgers. Fresh ingredients and innovative options were the draws to this small local place. Unfortunately, I’m not sure why it has changed, but I can no longer say that. The burgers are clearly not fresh anymore, they are preformed frozen patties that are always well done regardless of how you order it. The bacon that I ordered on my burger came out cold straight from the refrigerator and when I mentioned it to the server they just told me it’s the way it’s served (gross) — and also certainly not the way it used to be served. He offered to get me some more refrigerated bacon, I declined and then he charged me for it anyway.
They have re-​written their menu doing away with the most popular appetizers and replaced them with mediocre recipes, smaller portions and higher prices. Both «specialty» drinks that we ordered did not match the description on the menu at all, so either the bartender screwed up or simply had no idea which ingredients went into the drinks. The staff seems to be at a constant turnover and they all seem to walk around in a confused state. While the place is nearly empty, the service is lackluster at best. We were told of a dessert that we ordered only to be told a few minutes later they had no desserts anymore. So disappointing as this used to be a weekly stop for us, and I certainly won’t be returning anytime soon, there are better local establishments that provide quality ingredients and service for a more reasonable price.

The only reason this place gets a 5 star review is because Unilocal is holding me back. This place is right up your alley if you are a lover of good craft cocktails, and a menu that shows what the place is about.
This place has a focus on a great variety of burgers, just the way you want them. I say that because of the combination of imaginative creations, as well as providing you with the entire ingredient list and allowing you to truly build your own. Whether it be the multiple choices of proteins, to the plentiful choice of cheeses, to the wide variety of custom condiments… you will leave getting what you want.
In addition to the burgers, there is a sandwich list to die for and trust me, it is done right. My suggestion is if you are a cheese lover, to order the Meltdown, substituting the Swiss for the Ghost Pepper cheese really makes this a delightful sandwich with a real kick.
The bar is no joke, with classic cocktails a plenty, as well as their own concoctions and craft beer to boot. Great service is always to be expected in this friendly gem. If you are within 20 miles of this joint and don’t make the trip, you will have let yourself down.

Let’s just begin by saying that this was my girlfriends choice and she will never live it down. Despite her friends telling her of health code violations she insisted. So for appetizers we had the funions, pigs in heaven and the sriracha deviled eggs. For our entrée we hade the marinated mushroom, crunchy buffalo burger and the three little pigs. Only two good things happened the entire meal. We talked and we left. The only redeeming salvation in this meal was the pigs in heaven. The rest seemed to contrast anything your taste buds could ever want. The mushroom burger tasted like vinegar, the onion petals were grease with a bowl of Luke warm mac and cheese. The sriracha eggs just tasted like beer and you could tell they had been out waiting for the next victim. Do not go, avoid like the plague.

I was very surprised by this burger joint. The food is amazing and the menu is varied. My wife had the lamb burger and it was phenomenal. I had a standard burger and it was just right. My only regret was finding this place after we moved to Jacksonville!
A must visit for any burger lover looking for a new hip place to try!
