Cinemark – Franklin Park 16 and XD

Decent theater, but definitely needs updating. Seating is okay, but doesn’t compare to some others that I more often patronize. Cleanliness is acceptable.

This used to be my go to theater, but with costs continually going up, and service getting worse, I’m not sure I’ll go back.
Caught an «early bird» matinée today, it was $ 11 for a ticket, not terrible, but no cheaper than better theaters at regular prices.
I like this theater for the screen sizes, they are bigger than other theaters I frequent.
Decided to grab a popcorn and soda, which promises free refills on both on the sign, and headed into my movie.
This was an 11:30 showing, the first in that room for the day, floors were sticky and there was a little bit of trash under a few of the seats. The obviously hadn’t cleaned the night before.
No way I could eat a large popcorn, so I tossed the leftover after the screening, but I got in line to refill my soda for the drive home. After waiting about 5 minutes with only one person ahead of me in line. (They had three employees «working» behind the counter.) I was told no, that I couldn’t have a refill. When I questioned the young girl about it she just smiled and said no.
Rather than cause a scene I just left. Suffice it to say, I don’t think I’ll return. My dollars can be better spent at clean facilities where they provide what it promised to the consumer.

Matinée price was $ 11.40 for 3D movie. I said «I’m just paying for myself not for my friend too» and they said yes that’s for one ticket. Are you kidding me! In Indianapolis is the nicest theaters it is $ 9.50 for a regular movie at night. Then I just wanted a small drink and a small popcorn and it was going to be over $ 10. For the large drink and large popcorn it was $ 12. That just does not seem right to me. The sound system sucks and the seats are not that comfortable either. Only thing they have going for them is there are a lot of seats and a good amount of leg room but I rather save my money next time.

Average, I prefer AMC.

I noticed the other day that they increased the prices. It’s now 5.50 for their Tuesday special. I get that it’s only $.50 more but seriously? All they did was change owners. Also, in the past all the bar offered was high end liquor (to keep the riff-​raff out) but last time I was there they offered many different brands and prices. And let’s not forget that the last few big fights that happened at the mall came out of the theater to begin with. If you’re going to raise prices then make sure you’re turning your establishment into something worth paying for!

i KNEW cinemark would start jacking the prices up once they bought it.
keeping the name as rave was just a smokescreen to make people think nothing was changing even when they said they wouldn’t change anything.
bring back the directors hall /​show more older movies that people know… and please show the «movie day!!!» commercial before all movies? :)
