Please do not even attempt to eat here. One of the worst service experiences of my life. I decided to come here after they repeatedly sent coupons monthly to my house. Now I know why. We were told a 15 minute wait. 45 min later we get seated. Why? Well first a huge party of 8 who missed their 6pm reservation showed up at 630 and she put them in front of us anyway. Then we are about to be the next table seated and a couple goes ahead and seats themselves. Does the hostess or manager say anything to them? NOPE. So then we wait ANOTHER 15 minutes. We get seated in the main area. Two tables near us were seated after us. They both got a waitress and had ordered drinks and food by the time our waitress asked us for our drink order. By the time we got our food a total of 4 tables around us got their food before us even though they were seated after us.
I should have taken a glance at the reviews here before coming. I never would have came even with a $ 10 off $ 30 coupon. Which isn’t easy to hit with 2 people since it excludes alcohol. Food was just ok. Typical chain food, nothing terrible and nothing above average. SERVICE and MANAGEMENT kills this place and why it got one star. Corporate really needs to do something about this location.

Terrible service. We went in to have some drinks and dessert. I had one beer and she had cake and it literally took an hour for our bill. Just terrible service. Food is great and I frequent this place but this last visit was awful. I would’ve drank more if our waiter would have stopped by. It wasn’t even busy. Terrible waiter. I believe his name was Jon. I would give less than one star if I could.

The food was good but not worth waiting an hour and a half for a 10 oz steak and a burger… The service was sub par and when we said we were in a rush to go (because our food had taken so long my friend and I had to get to work and we needed boxes right as our food came out) she proceeded to go and have a lengthy conversation with another table rather than getting our check. Dammit Amy. I will think twice before going back.

Meh is too high a rating. Slow service with mediocre food that came out dry and lukewarm.

Just stopped for a quick burger in the bar. They were relatively busy and we were willing to wait. But when we asked to be seated at the bar the hostess told us her manager told her to «refrain from seating people in the bar because they were busy.» Who does that? We left and went to Paddy Jacks. They never apologized or attempted a resolution.

Not a horrible experience, but I wanted PBR but the keg was empty, the soup took a long time to come out, they were busy, but still. The burger was good and as usual the cookie was excellent!

The staff was very friendly and when I received my meal it was hot and very delicious. Highly recommend the French Onion soup!

Absolutely horrible! Gave it a try twice. Both times we waited forever for our food. When it finally arrived it had to be recooked and was still bad! The servers are the worst I’ve ever dealt with. They forget about you for extended periods of time and will walk right by you without shooting a look in your direction to see if anything was needed. On the way out after I paid for everything a manager came up to give me what I thought were gift cards and asked me to give them yet another try. There were 2 — $ 10 cards and 1 — $ 5 card. Great, right? NOPE. Silly me I give it another try. When I have my assistant go pick up lunch with them she is told she can only use 1 per visit. REALLY?!? I promise I will never step foot in that place again!!!

From 7÷18÷2011 (yes, late… getting through my drafts). Whenever I travel, I use Unilocal to keep me safe. On this trip, I was visiting family — they wanted to come to here. I read the reviews and was prepared for the worse. It was a bit better than expected — but not by much. BBQ Burger was OK, but nothing special. The Fish Tacos I took a bite of were overcooked and the salsa was from a bottle (if I had to guess it was Pace Picante — Chunky — Medium). The tortillia soup was thicker than many others that i have I had, and they used flour crispy strips on the soup instead of corn. I gave an extra star for service — our waitress was outstanding.

I am surprised how many restaurants on the USA are based around Burgers and Cookies! On our way to Cincinnati we saw Max and Ermas on the road and really thought it looked like a unique, fresh restaurant. On our way home we stopped at one in Toledo. The restaurant was not very busy, the burgers were ok, and the cookie was ok. Nothing special, pretty forgettable and not unique enough to compete with the other restaurants out there.

Terrible food. Terrible service. We used to go to the one in Maumee, much better. First the place was smelly, all 3 of my kids even noticed. The tables were sticky! Yuck! Food was terrible. Tortilla soup basically tasted like cold chili con queso! The burger was flavorless and cold! Rueben sandwich was a joke! Tortilla chips with the works were cold and nasty! The only thing that was edible was the kids Mac n cheese. The manager did contact us and apologized, sent us gift cards, but we have yet to go there.

So mediocre I don’t even feel like reviewing it. Has the familiar «found object» décor and the aged photographs of its founders that make you believe the food is home-​cooked in the back by your grandma. Truth is, it’s just boring, and it’s one of those places that make you feel awkward for drinking booze, because of the glitzy menu photographs that are clearly targeted for mid-​40 housewife luncheons who think slamming a manhattan is edgy.

No longer any quality here —- What a sad reversal for a place that used to be known for great food and great service. Now that the company has filed bankruptcy, their level of service and quality now shows. The food is terrible, served lukewarm frequently, and the taste is not what it once was. The last four times here the tomatoes served on the hamburgers and the salads were almost rotten and the lettuce was wilted. This used to be a great «neighborhood» place to eat but now has turned into a far-​below average eatery. It is highly unlikely this place will still be open at the end of 2010.

A typical Max & Erma’s, but with good service and a freindly staff.
I have eaten here many times and the food and service is always good.
