Wonderful Chinese and Japanese food! Their Japanese cooking is better than most Japan restaurants in Toledo!!!

I moved to Toledo hoping for some variety as I assumed it was a big city. I stumbled upon this place because I was working around there at the time and I’ve been going ever since. When I walk in I don’t actually have to order because they know I get the same thing every time because it’s amazing every time. House special lo mein with dumplings is what you must get if you go. I haven’t tried other things from there but I can only assume it’s good. Always fast and good service so it’s all in all a great place to eat.

The ramen here is very solid. The broth is very good, the noodles have a soft texture, and the pork is also very soft and chewy. I also ordered the popcorn chicken and it was very good. I definitely will try their other items in the future. It’s a very small restaurant that not a lot of people know about, but it’s actually very good. I will be recommending this place to my other Toledo friends to try in the future.

We are regulars at Taiwan and have been very happy with their food. It is prob as authentic as you will get in Toledo. Their bubble tea is also pretty decent and one of the few places you can actually get bubble tea in Toledo.

I’ve been here a few times, and the dishes are unique, but the meat quality is lacking. If they used just a little better meat I’d give them a better score. Everything else is good.

Returned home from a business trip and did not feel like cooking but did not want to venture too far from home for dinner. This is a small restaurant where you order at the register, pay, and then have a seat. Since this was my first visit to Taiwan Cuisine, it took me some time to make a selection. Being so hungry did not help matters much as everything sounded great. I ordered Singapore Rice Noodle — stir-fried rice noodles, shrimp and veggies with yellow curry powder. A very decent size portion for $ 8.95. Good food at a good price, check this place out…

I had few expectations but a hunch my meal would be good. The only real problem I had was deciding what to eat, everything looked and sounded so good. I decided on the Gam Pong Chicken, which comes with rice, soup, and an egg roll. Right away, the hot & sour soup quickly entered contender for best in town. It was meat free, no added shrimp without warning(far too common in Asian cuisine and frightening for us with allergies). The broth was nice and thick without being too heavy and filled with fresh veggies, egg, firm tofu. It had had a fantastic flavor, a delicate spice balanced with just the right amount of sour. The Gam Pong Chicken was excellent, a unique flavor it took a few bites to get used to. The meal was made of lightly fried sliced chicken chunks and covered in a sauce that was spicy and had a tangy, sweet zing. It paired perfectly with the tossed fresh slices of jalapeño, carrot, and onion, as well as the rice, also lightly fried and not too heavy or overly saturated in soy sauce(also tossed with peas and carrots). (As good as my meal was, I couldn’t help staring over the table at the guy next to me mowing on a big bowl of sliced beef and noodles in a broth light broth. It looked fantastic and must have been good, he was engrossed enough not to notice me starring). The meal had a nice consistent heat that didn’t over power the flavor of the meal, though I was thankful for the self-serve water station right behind me. The egg roll seemed fresh made and not frozen, and was as good as your standard egg roll. A nice crispy break from the heat. Above all, the place was clean and well kept with excellent and very kind service, and it was nice for a change to be the only white dude in a restaurant in Toledo surrounded by customers and staff alike chatting idly in a foreign language. One of my favorite things about bigger cities and rare in this corner of the Midwest. All in all, great first experience, can’t wait to come back and work my way through the menu. Next stop beef noodle soup. Edit: second visit got the chicken version of the Chow Ma Mein(typically seafood). Basically a huge bowl of very spicy ramen loaded with noodles, veggies, beef and chicken(or seafood). Absolutely fantastic.

I would like to give 5 stars. It offers very good chinese food. I recommend popcorn chicken and bubble tea. P.s, I hate the restaurants close on Sunday.

Was impressed to discover a Taiwanese restaurant in Toledo, which warrants a few stars in itself. The food itself was alright. The beef noodle soup was good, especially if you have a craving for something homey and comforting, but nothing to write home about. Portion sizes were decent. The place is a mom and pop joint, so it’s nice to support local businesses.

This place appears to be quite authentic! and gets… A solid 4!(maybe a 4.5) I had the Gan-Pong chicken which was tasty! I got a large portion and a side of soup for a pretty good price!

This place is legit! My friend and I stopped by the other day for lunch and we were both very happy with our meal. They offer a variety of traditional Taiwanese dishes and some Japanese rice bowls and udon/ramen dishes. I had the basil mushroom tofu dish aka three cup mushroom and tofu, and my friend ordered some pork dumplings with beef noodle soup. The portion for lunch was huge and I enjoyed my 3 cup mushroom and tofu. It tastes like something that I would get in a restaurant in Taiwan. The pork dumplings were nothing special. I didn’t try the beef noodle soup but again, the portion was huge and my friend enjoyed it. I would definitely come back here to try the Shio Ramen. Just wish the price is not outrageous 9.75 plus tax for a bowl of beef noodle soup seems a bit excessive, but I guess this is the only Taiwanese restaurant in Toledo. The dining area is small and looks a bit rundown. It looks like a fast food joint. I tried to speak Chinese to the lady working there but she only answered me back in English. Oh well.

Tasted like mom’s cooking!(even though I’m not Taiwanese) I heard of this place from a friend and came in with low expectations since there aren’t really any good Chinese restaurants in Toledo. Man, were my socks blown away. We got the traditional Taiwanese dishes: beef noodle soup, minced pork, chicken katsudon and they were comparable to food in Taiwan. Honestly, they were actually better than what I had in Taiwan last month. Everything was reasonably priced and $ 7-$ 10. I’m happy that Toledo finally has some good Chinese food, and not the Americanized ones. I will definitely be coming back.

Toledo is the last place I expected to see a Taiwanese restaurant. I’ve never had Taiwanese food before so I was extremely curious. The Taiwanese pineapple curry fried was definitely not what I expected. It was the first time I had a dry Asian curry dish. It had dried shredded pork on top which was weird because that’s not typically served at a restaurant. It was decent. A little bland but I like that the rice was not dry even tough it had pork fuzz and curry powder all over it. The house special lo mein was good. Noodles had a good mouthfeel but it was a little bland and had too much bean sprouts. Pork dumplings were okay at best. Overall, a decent place to eat. I would like to try their popcorn chicken next time I’m in Toledo.

The best surprises and those completely unexpected. I was at the nearby laundromat and was hunting around for a coke when I encountered this gem. I ordered syoyu ramen, and expected to be served the junk that is par for the mid west. It turned out pretty good. Broth was rich and they had actual ramen noodles instead of the instant noodle junk(bad experience in philly) If I’m in the area, I would certainly stop by to check out other items on the menu.

My friend who is Chinese told me that this is the best Taiwanese restaurant in Toledo. So far, I’ve only had the chance to try the Gan Pan Chicken and the Gan Pan Shrimp. I must say I am a fan. I liked the Gan Pan Chicken better than the Shrimp. Be aware that it is pretty spicy. I wanted to try the bubble tea but they ran out when I went. I will definitely have to try them again.

Finding authentic Asian food in Toledo is difficult enough, but if you are looking for authentic Taiwanese food, this is about your only choice. I’ve ate here twice and it reminded me exactly of the food in Taiwan. My favorite dish is the popcorn chicken, but you should be aware that«Taiwanese flavor» means lots of salt and pepper. The popcorn chicken in particular is flavored with a lot of salt and pepper as it should be. I’ve noticed some reviews on other sites complaining about their use of salt and pepper, but trust me it is quite traditional in Taiwan. I also enjoyed their beef noodle soup and chicken & rice dishes. The only reason I didn’t give the restaurant 5 stars is it’s basically a take out restaurant and it’s titled«Fine Asian Food & Noodles». Something there just makes me think it would be a table service restaurant with a larger dining area. There is really only about 5 tables, so if you come on a busy night, you may have to wait to sit and eat. For the non adventurous eaters, they also have your basic«american chinese» type dishes, but I haven’t tried any of those. I’d recommend first time eaters try the popcorn chicken and beef noodle soup to get a taste of Taiwan :)
