This place is really cute. Since I had to be in Toledo for something we decided to check this place out. It has a nice vibe with it’s couches and tables. There was live music being played here on a Saturday night. It felt cozy and could be great for a date. I had the peach martini and my friend had one of the signature cocktails. Drinks were around $ 10/drink. I’d come here again if I had to be in Toledo, but hopefully I’ll never have to be. Toledo itself sucks.

I’d love to give this place a shot but the two times I went there they were closed even though it was at least a half hour before their posted closing time. According to the Toledo talk blog others have the same issue. If they are going to have posted hours until a certain time they should be open until then and not close up early because it’s slow

Excellent wine and beer selection! Great service and the food is good… not a lot of options, but the appetizers are very good.

Love the way they serve scotch & whisky with the very large and appropriate ice cube!!! Please keep it up and I hope all other bars follow your example! Atmosphere was great as well. Love this place.

Went there last Saturday night after a Walleye game and was surprised at how empty it was. We ordered some wine, sangria, mixed drinks and everything seemed fine. We we having a friendly discussion and might have occasionally gotten a ‘little’ boisterous and the bartender came over and told us to keep the noise down for the enjoyment of the other customers. Our waiter didn’t seem to think we were too noisy, because we mentioned something to him and he said we were fine. There were only 2 other tables with people and a few people at the bar and no one seemed to be upset by the volume of our conversation either. If that’s how they treat the few customers they get, I can understand why the place was less than half full on a Saturday night. Won’t be in any rush to go back. Plenty of other places to go in Toledo.

I moved into the Commadore Perry early last month and went downstairs to Veritas to unwind from moving the first night I was here. I have gone back weekly since. I have yet to have one thing bad here! The food is fantastic, the owner and wait staff are best and the atmosphere is perfect! I wish they’d bring their Brie platter back since I became so addicted to it, but other than that, this is a MUST hangout for anyone living in downtown Toledo, or wanting to stop for an appetizer and a couple of drinks on the way to a concert or game. I definitely recommend the Cable Car. Best drink in town!

Cool environment with savvy Craft drinks. Wandered in on a lazy Friday early evening. Jazz was on the juke and we coordinated with an Old Fashion and a Manhattan. Both crafted perfectly and well worth the 8 $ tab. Nice people at the bar to get to know. Bathrooms were well tended. Thanks for that.

Strange experience there. Went on a Saturday night. The place was about half full. As stated previously, there are no wine descriptions on their menu. Our waitress clearly didn’t understand the differences in the wine. Since she paid almost no attention to our group, we weren’t sure if we were just supposed to go directly to the bar to reorder. We realized she was serving us, we just had to flag her down everytime we wanted more libations. No flights of wine was a little annoying. It would make sense to me to allow smaller sizes to see what you really want. Especially if you haven’t tried that wine prior. It’s strange sitting at a standard height table with people right next to you at a pub height table. All tables should be pub height. I had high expectations and after M. Osteria(awesome!), we were pretty let down. Probably our last trip.

I recently had to attend a meeting here, and I was overjoyed at the décor, menu and service. Parking is horrible for any establishment downtown, but they’re not to blame for that. The mojito I had was absolutely phenomenal as was the sangria. I forget what appetizer I had, but obviously it wasn’t memorable enough to be bad or particularly amazing. It’s a bit on the pricier side. I’d definitely go again! In fact, I love that they regularly do wine/beer tastings and for an awfully reasonable price. I’ll probably be updating my review after my next visit. :)

Love it! I have been there a few times now and always great service! Last time I was there, Matt helped pick out a small craft beer keg and a hand selected case of wine after telling him what I like. Great selection of bourbon and scotch along with craft beers. Also, try the hummus plate. Great establishment for downtown and now one of my regular spots.

Less than impressive service, weak pours, and out of olives and limes. I won’t be going back any time soon and suggest the same for you.

Cool place with a great Vibe. Went to one of Matt’s wine tastings several months ago and have only missed one since(there on most Wednesday’s). Great night — fun staff and just generally awesome. Toledo should be impressed that we have as great a place as Veritas!

You can tell someone is trying hard at Veritas. But they just aren’t getting it. No wine flights. No descriptions of the wines. Six good beers on tap but nothing really special. Crooked Tree was the best draft option. Beer bottle sales area was ok but again nothing really special. Staff is really clueless. It’s more like they’re used to working at a large club or college bar. The staff hasn’t tried most of the menu. Menu is cheap inkjet printed paper in a plastic OfficeMax sleeve. Like from Red Lobster in the 90s? Also, it’s full of ridiculous misspellings. How does a wine bar misspell«pinot noir» or «rotate our taps»? This is tacky. Veritas: you can do better for Toledo. Please. Go visit a good wine/beer bar outside of town and take notes.

Cute and needed downtown. This is not their issue, but where do you park?!? I know this is a common theme for downtown Toledo, hopefully people overlook it and visit this great establishment.

Fresh new concept to upgrade the downtown bar scene. Veritas is a wine and craft beer hangout spot that you definitely must check out. Located on the ground level of the Commodore Perry building just across from the Huntington Center.

I’ve been to this new establishment a few times now — the drink choices are excellent as are the light menu options! I highly recommend either of the boards, and the herbed chevre spread is fantastic! I had the bartender whip me up a martini of their choice and it was delicious(I should’ve taken a picture!), the beers on draught(and in the store) are impressive, and the owners really know their wine! Every wine we have had that was recommended was exactly what I wanted. The ONLY gripe I have with this place(which is minor and could be flxed) is that the waitstaff still seems a little shaky on the menu and the drink options. They are always pleasant, but when I’ve been there I have been given wrong information when I’ve asked what’s what on boards and such. Like I said, easy fix, and the service was still good! Just a little more training! Definitely worth checking out!!! This will be a downtown mainstay for us :)

Great atmosphere and terrific wine, beer and liquor selections. The food menu is decent. The service needs to be stepped up all around. I understand they just opened, but always better to be overstaffed in the beginning — not understaffed.

My husband and I stopped in here last night for drinks and they were the best mixed drinks we’ve had in Toledo! We told the bartender what we usually like in a drink and he concocted a unique one of a kind drink! The place just opened up a few days ago so I’m not sure if the custom drinks will be a standard, especially if they’re busy. But either way it’s worth asking — go to the bar and ask for Scott! He’s a magician!
