Arbor Gate

I purchased a glass hummingbird feeder from the Arbor Gate about 3 weeks ago. I was in Tomball getting new tags for our motorcycle and stopped in afterwards. The kind woman who helped me showed me a hummingbird swing for $ 15 which I thought was cute and purchased.
I spent about 20 minutes at the register talking to one of the designers about plans for my backyard. I had a great time and was going to return to purchase plants for our new home.
When I got home, the hummingbird swing broke immediately upon taking it off the packaging. The red glass bead broke in half immediately. Drat. Since I don’t live in Tomball, I was going to wait to exchange it when other errands sent me that direction. Since then, I put up the hummingbird feeder. After several days, I realized that the birds could not reach the solution once a small bit of the solution had been consumed. The design of the feeder was poor.
This morning I was back in Tomball and I make a visit to the Arbor Gate to exchange these items. Not return. Exchange and look at some plants too. I did not have my receipts and they refused to help me. Even though I was speaking to the woman who waited on me a few weeks ago and she told me she remembered waiting on me! They would NOT let me exchange the broken swing or the feeder that does not work properly. You would think that they would trust a customer and be interested in keeping my business and future business since I have ½ acre of yard to fill with landscaping — new beds and all.
I guess they are afraid I am running an elaborate hummingbird product scheme. Beware!!! Keep your receipts if ever buy something there. They will NOT help you or trust you otherwise. Even if you are speaking to the human that performed the transaction for you.

Fabulous nursery! They have a huge selection of flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees which are absolutely amazing! I love their herb and vegetable plants! There is even a big section of beautiful pots in many different colors and sizes. They have a really cute décor shop along with a lot of yard décor. Great for one of a kind gifts! If you have any questions about anything that has to do with your yard or gardening ask for Seth he is extremely knowledgable! Great place to shop! You will fall in love with this nursery! It’s the best!

Poor customer service. Not one employee cared to acknowledge my existence on a Saturday morning when they weren’t even busy.
I Had to drive all the way to Katy for Nelson’s to find my fountain… and it was so worth the extra mileage! Nelsons has so much more to offer and the customer service is outstanding!

I have been coming to the Arbor Gate for many many years. I became a loyal customer long before they were the popular location that they have grown to be. I was truly disappointed with my shopping excursion today. I came to a class last year and joined the Houston Rose society because I was told that members received a 10% discount. I renewed my membership counting on this discount. I have enjoyed my discount all year long but today I will it was declined and I was told that it was only good for roses. I thought it was interesting that this policy is a recent change considering that I have been given the discount all your long but the cashier acted like I was wrong in requesting the discount.
After having been declined my discount I went outside expecting my plants to have been placed in plastic trays. Normally it’s not that big a deal if I have to move plants myself especially during busy times. But today it struck me extremely irritating that the employees were sitting in chairs watching me put all of my plants into trays while they chatted and laughed with an older man who was sitting beside them who I have always thought to be one of the owners. Dressed in nice clothes having just come from a church meeting, their help would’ve been greatly appreciated.
I am a Spanish teacher and I have previously come here and heard an Anglo employee using very inappropriate Spanish words with his employees. You might want to caution your employees to use appropriate language even when speaking in Spanish. It is not okay to use inappropriate language with employees no matter what language you’re using.
I have always been willing to pay extra for the plants that I purchased from Arbor Gate, but I may have to reconsider this if the service I get is not of the quality I expect when I pay premium price for plants.

I love to go to Arbor Gate! There are tons on beautiful healthy plants to chose from, the staff is very friendly and helpful also. Even if I don’t need plants, I go there and wander around and just relax. There are two gift shops, lots of beautiful pottery and yard ornaments. They also have classes which I have not been able to attend yet but hopefully someday I will get a chance!

This is my happy place. Best selection and Beverly will always offer up the best advise on what to plant and what to not plant. I am lucky to live super close so I go often but if you don’t, it is worth a trip. Awesome pottery and I swear by their organic fertilizer. It rocks!

Amazing selection, amazing staff that is very knowledgeable, lots of options & just over all very cute! We not only got everything we needed, they showed us how to plant & fertilize it all. We got great plants & a great education. Everyone was so nice! Definitely will go back!

Arbor Gate is my favorite nursery/​gift shop of all time. Every time I shop at Arbor Gate I leave with the feeling I can’t wait to come back and shop for more. And I do!!!

You can find just about anything at this nursery. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask one of the many talented and informed people who work there.
I’ve brought pictures of my yard and they’ve picked out items that don’t die and plants and flowers that deer won’t eat. I’ve also taken a few of their classes and always enjoy them.
The Arbor Gate is worth the drive, too, even if you’re not buying you will find many things to do with your garden that you wouldn’t otherwise think of doing.
If you leave with anything, make sure it’s the fertilizer they sell. That stuff always make our plants and flowers look better!
