Bad, slow service. I went to their truck on 5th ave. Ordered tofu and veggie noodles. Waiting almost 10 mins for it. Got it. Walked away. Checked and there was no tofu. Went back and told them they forgot it. Found out then they were out of tofu. Told them I wanted a refund. Guy inside couldn’t figure it out then went to some guy sitting in a car behind the cart and then I’m still waiting for the refund forever.

This place use to be the best pad thai, but now there attitude is terrible, and they wont make it without egg. I have an egg allergy and they still wont do it. They easily just lost $ 50 and my business.

THEBESTPADTHAIEVER… and I’m super picky about Pad Thai. I love the fact that the meat is organic and the pad thai is super flavorful and not bland like certain other places! The worst thing about trying to figure out where to get Thai food from is that there might be MSG or you might get sick.etc. So i had to try this place because it pacified my concerns and really glad I did! I’ve never been to this truck, but only have ordered. My favorite thing to get is the duck pad thai. Usually I’ll get the shrimp, but the peking duck is just SO good here. The portion size is good, because I can finish a whole one by myself. I don’t think it would serve 2 people like some people said. :/maybe I just eat a lot. I don’t like the spring rolls here, but I have always hated spring rolls with the clear thing.

Second best pad thai I’ve ever had in the city, and I’m am quite picky with my pad thai! Flavorful, fresh, and plentiful, but a little spicy for my taste. I had the shrimp which were fresh and cooked well. Definitely the best pad thai in williamsburg. You might think it’s expensive, but it’s restaurant quality and enough for two servings.

Super delicious Thai noodles! A bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it for the high quality meats… Organic, pasture raised chicken, grass fed beef, Berkshire pork, wild caught shrimp. I’m very grateful when businesses choose good products over cheap crap to offer their customers. We ordered one of everything on their menu and nothing was disappointing. The portion sizes are respectable and they don’t shy away from spice on the Drunk Man noodles. Delivery was superfast and each dish included two big juicy slices of lime which I adore with Thai noodles. Very well done!

Nothing beats letting this sit in your car for an hour and then wolfing a wild shrimp drunken man noodle in stand still traffic… with chopsticks! The flavors are really wonderful, and the shrimp are big and meaty; much how I like my men. Anyway, this truck proudly represents being organic and gluten free — which is awesome, and the service is fairly quick; especially if you’re standing in the rain huddled under the awning. $ 16 = happiness. Thank you Rhong-Tiam…until we meet again!

I’ve had my fair share of Pad Thai having been to Thailand multiple times, and spent months in Asia, as well as dining at Thai restaurants in all corners of the world. Having that in mind, one of the best Pad Thais I have eaten, comes from a food truck, and cost me no more than $ 10. This Pad Thai is as good as it gets. The ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly and the flavors are amazing. A++ for being gluten free. If you haven’t tried it — you should.

This is one of the many food trucks that now litter 5th ave. I’m happy that everything on the menu is Gluten Free. As someone that actually suffers from Celiac’s Disease, it always makes me warm and gooey inside when I don’t have to worry about cross contamination and other potential slips that could cause me to worship my toilet. I got the Pad Thai with Chicken. Large portion, lots of meat. Comes with two lime wedges which make the dish so much more refreshing. I definitely couldn’t finish my portion for lunch and the rice noodles are amazing. After being GF for close to two years, this is one of the first GF things that I really enjoy that I would encourage non GF people to try it.

First of all, this is not a truck; this is a cart that’s sometimes on 5th Ave. between 21st and 22nd. The listings on Unilocal are confusing because there’s no clear delineation between Rhong-Tiam’s properties: the Pad Thai cart, the general Thai truck, and the big burger truck. Let’s assume this Unilocal listing is for the cart, since everyone here is talking about the cart. I’ve had Pad Thai many times at many places. I’ve also had the Pad Thai from Rhong-Tiam over a dozen times, and I can say that it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. The flavors are bold and robust, the ingredients are fresh, the chicken is cooked to juicy perfection, and it’s always steaming hot because it’s made entirely to order. Rating the food alone, it’d easily be five stars. The downsides are that the food is expensive and the wait is long. The cheapest items are $ 10, with other meats ranging all the way up to $ 30 for the same bowl of Pad Thai. Since the food is cooked to order and there’s only one cook, the waits can be long. The typical wait is about 10 to 15 minutes. If you see a lot of people standing around, be prepared to wait up to 25 minutes. At their usual location at 5th and 21st, you might want to place an order and then check out the AIGA art gallery that’s right there. But the most awful thing about Rhong-Tiam is that they have no clue how to deal food to people. They don’t take your name or give you a number when you place an order, leading to confusion when they hand out the food, seemingly guessing whose it is or letting people just walk up and take food because they felt they’ve waited long enough. On TWO occasions now, I’ve had them give out my order to people who ordered after me. The previous time, I wasn’t keeping track of who ordered what, but when I had been waiting over 20 minutes, I went up to ask, and the guy said he didn’t see my order, but he would have it cooked right then. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes because it was very busy – they didn’t put my order to the front at all. That left me about 10 minutes to eat my food after getting back to my building. Today, the same thing happened, but I kept track of who ordered behind me. When the woman who ordered after me walked up and took what should have been my order, I proceeded forward. When they handed out another order to a guy who ordered after HER, I spoke up and said that I ordered chicken, too, so where’s mine? He said, «Oh, sorry, we’ll make yours right now,» and proceeded to give a third chicken order to a guy who ordered after the last two, instead of to me! I had to wait another ten minutes for my order. I tried to tell the guy at the window that they should take names or give out numbers, but he misunderstood and tried to give me their phone number. So I stomped back to the office and again tried to stuff the food down in 10 minutes. One other funny anecdote about the service: One time, I saw them call a guy over to give him his food. «Pork Pad Thai, here you go,» said Rhong-Tiam. «I didn’t order pork, I ordered duck,» pleaded the guy. «Oh, we ran out of duck,» Rhong-Tiam explained, «so we gave you pork. It’s similar.» They just dismissed the guy and brushed him away! No matter how good food is, it’s never pleasant to have to cram it down before returning to work. In fact, the better food is, the worse it is to have to rush it. That’s why I can’t give Rhong-Tiam anything better than two stars. They really need to work on their service methods.

Just like i mentioned before pad thai is my favorite food. So when I saw there was a food truck down the block from my office I was ecstatic. I got chicken pad thai and it was delicious. Took about 7 – 10 minutes to get my order which I guess is long for a food truck but totally worth the wait. The staff(2 guys inside the truck, 1 cooking &1 taking orders) were attentive because I asked for no bean sprouts, ewww. They add peanuts and hot chili pepper on top(I think thats what it was). The price was reasonable $ 10, the other stuff on the menu was a pricey for a food truck, but I guess some are willing to pay. Anyways it was a fabulous lunch and if they are ever in my area again, I will for sure be ordering from them again.

For $ 10 you get a pretty fair amount of vegetable/tofu pad thai. These guys work fast, too. The truck is in a perfect location so definitely stop by if you’re passing through Williamsburg. Next time, I’ll have to ask them to tone down the spiciness… I’m getting a little too old for the heat :/

I love these guys. The chicken pad thai is what you expect. The chicken is juicy and they are generous with the peanuts and sprouts. They make it as spicy as you want and they are so friendly! The portions are so large one order for $ 10 could easily serve 2 people. I only wish they had a half order you could pick up after the bar. That would be awesome!

Really solid food, cooked to order fast, and spicy as requested. They have some souped up technology there(it’s a truck but they put in your order on an ipad). The chicken pad thai is a great deal at 10 bucks, but the shrimp is their ace! Its jumbo and fresh and so worth the extra five bucks. They are generous with the meats and the crushed peanuts on top. The reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5— like other posters pointed out, the hours are so inconsistent. It’s always a gamble at when they’re gonna be there. Sometimes, even if they’re there, they tell you to come back in 30 minutes for absolutely no known reason. Also, they do deliveries.

Rock music was heard from 2 blocks down. Nope, it wasn’t an indie rock band playing on the corner but rather rock music blasting from a pimped out food cart. RT offers some decent pad thai on the run. Noodles were piping hot made within five minutes. Nothing spectacular but the taste could be more more flavorful. Taking a bite of chicken alone was bland. But what I did enjoy was the generous amount of crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. $ 25 for blue crab pad thai? Yikes. $ 30 for maine lobster pad thai, hot damnnnnnn! Is this real life? Maybe it’s time to actually learn to make some pad thai.

The food was good, although not quite flavorful enough for pad thai. All of the ingredients were very high quality, but the sauce just didn’t have enough flavor. Prices are way too high for a truck. $ 10 for vegetarian or chicken pad thai, high prices if you want anything else in it. I expect some markdown from local restaurants given that this is street food. Overall, I would probably go back if it’s convenient, but it was pretty average.
