I had an old school chicken fried steak lunch here. The portion was just right. The mashed potatoes and corn were passable, but the batter and crispness and flavor of the steak was very good. There is very limited seating here. Take out is a common option.

Cheese burgers and chicken-fried steak are the best in town. Sure, there are fancier places, but Bill’s Diner knows good food. You’re going to pay for what you get and you’ll agree that it’s worth it.

Solid place to eat right there in the heart of North Topeka. Just off Highway 24, it’s a great place to grab a quick bite. Solid all the way around.

I wish my waist would allow me to eat here every day. This is one of my three favorite burger places in town. The food here is «classic diner», and sooooo delicious. And, as are all of my favorite restaurants, this one too is locally owned, which is a huge plus in my book. I keep hoping to get there for breakfast one of these days — if it’s only half as good as the burgers then they’ll be amazing too. The photos I’ve posted say it all. The food really IS as good as it looks.(One is of a cheeseburger and cheese bites, ordered by my husband and the other is a basic burger and fries.) Looks pretty good, eh? Fresh green lettuce and juicy tomatoes on a perfectly grilled beef burger. Mmmm. The only drawback I can come up with is the dining room is teensy, so you might want to go before or after the lunch peak or get your order to go. Or, be willing to wait a few for a table… although in nice weather there is outdoor dining available. Try it! I bet you’ll like it too.

The outward appearance of this burger stand/diner is very nostalgic. On reccommendation from locals, I went there to sample the burger. It was wonderful, freshly made on my order, with buttered toasted buns. All the trimmings on request. The combo meal came with more fresh cut potato fries than I could eat. Seating is minimal as you can see by the building photos, but drive thru service is available. I took note of some of the other diners food as it was coming out, and already know that my next visit will be a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I was piled high with beef and fresh peppers and onions… Only wish I would have had enough stomach room to have ordered it now. Menu also has numerous breakfast items. Interior accommodations were aged but clean. Can reccommend it as a stop if you find yourself in North Topeka just off Highway 24. Much better than a chain burger, that’s for sure!
