I was part of a large party that ate and drank here. They were very accommodating despite the growing headcount and the waitstaff did a pretty decent job of keeping on top of orders and refills considering how busy it was. The food was pretty mediocre. I had the Sweet Chicken(grilled chicken patty with Swiss and coleslaw). It tasted completely bland. I got a side order of sweet potato fries which were very good. I tried the Barn Balls and though my husband enjoyed them, I just thought they were okay. I didn’t drink, so I can’t speak for the drinks. This spot is very spacious with a lot of searing, a large bar and pool tables. There are multiple TVs and cozy décor(fireplace, etc). It’s definitely a nicer spot if you plan to go out drinking with friends.

Great food. Crab barn balls were delicious! Service was excellent. Loved the décor. We will be back for sure!

We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly but they swore we had to try the fried balls so we did and gross. The sweet potato fries were lousy and the chicken caprese was just cheap and tasteless. Super dissatisfied with the food, it was inexpensive but most bar food is and still manages to be good(for bar food). I get that it’s called the BarN Grill but it felt like a cafeteria with a bar. They had a lot of Television sets for sports but when we walked in there was no volume on any game and no music playing so it was oddly quiet other than the sounds of people chattering. Sort of like a cafeteria. The service was great though.

As you walk up to it, it’s got a beautiful door. You open that door and the foyer looks cozy and inviting. Until you walk in. To the right is the billard room with booths fit for two. Literally. You can only seat two people at the awkward booths. Then you look left and it’s the most uncomfortable dining room you have ever stepped foot in. It’s a shame because there is a cozy nice looking fireplace. The dining furniture looks like it came from rejected restaurants. Did they run out of money when designing the interior? Topeka is lost on local places due to atmosphere and it’s quite disappointing. Now let’s talk food. Don’t. Their food is that bad. Just don’t.

For a topeka restaurant i got what I expected, lousy impersonal service, attention owners and management, a friendly hello as ur guests walk into your place of business is ok and welcomed, and cell phone use by employees only add to my suspect why there was no greeting, shameful really as the Texas burger I had was good, stringed onion rings not so much, u obviously don’t know what stringed onion rings are, so just serve onion rings instead of embarrassing ur self with chopped up onion rings. Gotta get a handle on those fruit flies, annoying and gross, speaking of annoying, spend a couple bucks on some silverware, plastic cutlery really. Good atmosphere, good food. But service 2 stars at best…

Someone at work today suggested that we come try this place out. So we did. And it was great! The place was very nice inside with all new everything including a pool table. Service: very good. The girl who was our waitress was on the ball. Drinks were never empty and she came back to check on us often even though it was busy. Food: VERY good. Ok, to be fair, my wife and I were in a weird mood where we only only wanted appetizers. Don’t judge me. But they were all very good! We shared the chili con queso, loaded cheese fries, and the barnballs(deep fried balls of hashbrowns, cheese and some kind of meat). All three were extremely good. Those balls were just as good as they sound! All in all, this place was great and you should go. Multiple times. Per day.

Overall we liked it and will go back. Several things on the menu we want to try. The cheese fries appetizer was very good. Portion size was too small. We had Chicken Diablo, Sweet chicken, Check tenders and a burger. All were good. The sweet potato fries were not as good. They were warm, not hot and were not at all crispy. Also portion size was too small, although they were only $ 1.50 so the price was not bad. The service was good. The atmosphere is very nice. Like the design and the remodel. Clean. Reasonably priced. We did not have drinks but there seemed to be a nice variety of beers. Will definitely go back.

They’ll have all the NFL games. They have at least three types of George Dickle«8», «rye» and«special reserve». Any filthy animal will drink JD but a genuine southern gentleman does/should know the good stuff from Tullahoma, Tennessee’s other whisky.
