I finally stopped by today and found what I needed and staff were very friendly, provided help and showed me around the store. Lots of completed projects for inspiration with yarns and patterns available. This is a complete shop for all your knitting and needlecraft needs. I’ll be back!

Lots of yarn, cluttered. I have been there a couple of times. Most of the time, it seems like I’m invisible. I was there for the Yarn Crawl and got there about 30 minutes before closing. I got no greeting or anything. In fact, 1 sales lady was vacuuming(she just started) and wouldn’t look up at me at all even though I was trying to catch her attention… It was funny because 2 other ladies came in after me, and they jumped up for them and chatted them up(«how was their yarn crawl, how many stores have they been to, what area are they from»…etc). They are nice, and I think well-intentioned, so I don’t think they do it purposely. I like their selection over all. It is a well stocked store.

June and her ladies were very helpful and patient getting me started with knitting. I purchased several«kits» and other yarns and found the knitting classes extremely beneficial. I just wish I had more time to «hang out» there.

I was at the shop yesterday hoping to arrange for a crochet lesson. I am an experienced knitter but only know the basics of crochet. An extremely stylist lady(who I hope to grow up to be) was busy on the phone but assured me that she would find me when finished. True to her word, she sat me down with an offer to help right then and there. Mind you, I had NOT bought the yarn there! She proceeded to fend off two additional calls while helping me. She made me feel that I was the most important thing in her day. In no time at all, I had enough information to try it on my own. After an additional gentle staff interruption, I concluded that my «crochet angel» was the owner so I asked her her name– June. I hope, June, that you read this review and know how helpful you were to a complete out-of-town stranger who has an almost zero chance of ever stepping into your store again. Sometimes grace is just a natural gift.

Cluttered, not too great of a selection. Yarns were dreary and older looking. Well stocked, not my style. None of the yarn had prices on it. No one even acknowledged us when we walked in. None of the yarn was contemporary. I could keep going, but I really don’t have anything positive to say. I doubt I’ll visit ever again. I do hope it gets better. I guess they’re somehow thriving if they’re still open after all these negative reviews.

I’ve gone in there a couple of times and although they have some fairly decent options, the store itself is not organized in the most user-friendly way. There are no prices on anything, things are sort of cluttered without labels. You really have to hunt to find what you need. Also, their selection isn’t too great — there are certain«go-to» brands that I’ve been leaning towards(madelinetosh, malabrigo for example) that they don’t seem to carry.

I have to agree with the other reviewers overall, I wish the place were a bit better organized and that the merchandise was priced. That having been said they were the only store I went to that had a gift for EVERY Yarn Crawler! I wasn’t put off by the lack of prices, I’ve been shopping for yarn long enough that if I think the price is ridiculous I’ll just move on with no shame about putting the yarn back on the shelf, hey it’s my money. That said, I can see why some would not like being put in that position. BUT, I had to give them 4 stars because I thought the ladies were an absolute hoot! One asked me what I was going to make with my yarn while the other asked her why she was playing«50 questions» with me. They reminded me of Golden Girls! Then I asked another question and while one was answering me the other rolled her eyes and made faces and comments right in front of her. it was yarn and free entertainment, I would definitely come back just to see what these ladies are up to. The drawings on the front of the store are pretty true to them. I’d definitely come back and send others thier way!

I went to this store during the Yarn Crawl LA event last weekend. The store is unbelievably cluttered. You have to step over baskets of yarn and carefully wiggle through the aisles to see everything. Nothing has a price tag, so you must ask the staff and they will look in a book for the price. It seems that the book get lost quite often! I was quoted the wrong price on some yarn and found this out when I tried paying for it. Some of the yarn looks like it has been sitting there for centuries! If they cleaned it up a bit and organized it, the store might be easier to navigate. Just way too messy for my taste. The staff was nice, but not very knowledgable; however, in their defense, they were busy with the Yarn Crawl event.

The lady was so helpful, and this is the only place I can find my specific yarns that I need. 1 star off for lack of prices displayed and extremely short hours… But I would definitely go again!

This is the only yarn shop in the area that has a decent selection but I have had a horrible time getting anyone to ring me up because everyone wants to sit around and do their own projects. I understand if you are asking a lot of questions of trying to get a free lesson that you will be looked down upon but I am talking about simply trying to find someone to ring me up at the cash register. I took some classes here and to be honest the instructor messed up my projects when she was trying to help me. I was embarassed for her so I don’t go back there unless I am having an emergency and really need to buy something. Their hours are very short anyway.

To continue my search for new and fabulous yarn — I came out to this shop this morning, walked in and fell in love. First, I found a yarn journal that was perfect — because I now have a large box of yarn without labels, I need to keep track of it, because I know that I will be buying more. I also need to keep track of my random patterns, etc. A woman came up to me and asked if I needed help while I was checking out the knitting books. I said no, thank you, that I was browsing. She replied that if I had any questions, don’t hesitate to ask, and I thought«Wow! A sincere desire to be of service!» It was a beautiful thing. The shop is filled to the brim with gorgeous yarn — there are also two long tables in the store; today the tables were filled with women working on needlepoint and knitting projects; I heard a little bark from the corner of the store, and saw the sweetest little dog(I LOVE stores that allow dogs, just so you know). My previous obssession was with needlepoint(I believe it’s not gone, just lying dormant; this shop could bring it back to life if I wasn’t such a goner for knitting right now.) I walked around, touching and picking up the different treasures — there were also sweaters, scarves, socks, and other items displayed that were knit from the different yarns. (It was rather like I hope heaven will be, maybe with a Trader Joe’s café in the corner for when hunger strikes — that would be the coolest!). I did notice that there were no prices displayed — red flag warning here; no prices displayed usually means high prices, and I wasn’t very far off. Most of the yarn that I looked at was made in Italy, which means imported, which means more expensive. I decided to buy one skein of this unbelievably soft and beautiful black and multi-colored eyelash yarn — took it to the register and asked the price, and was told: «Twelve dollars.»(In case you were wondering, the average price for yarn at Jo-Ann Crafts or Tall Mouse is about five bucks). I bought it, along with the journal, and ran before I drained my bank account. Before I fled, I noticed one woman who was knitting a bright blue blanket with bright yellow stripes; the blue yarn had these multicolor popcorn thingies attached(excuse the technichal knit-speak); the blanket was simply amazing. I had to compliment her, and she shared with me the stitches that she was knitting, and that it was a baby blanket! I wish I had taken a picture of it, because it was so far removed from the typical pastel blue/pink/yellow baby blanket — it was more like a work of art! If you are interested in needlecrafts, you must visit Concepts — it is a haven for needlecrafters; the yarn is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, along with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
