Just picked up a few entrees last night. I like the food here. We are looking at issues of not having time to cook a full meal and need to stop eating out so often. Cathy got the chicken nuggets which were baked and not fried. The«mashed potatoes» were really a serving of chopped cauliflower mixed with a few seasonings and just enough pepper jack for flavor. Definitely something I could eat again. My minor concern is the limit of dinner items. There are only four meals and we are insanely in to variety. The other gripe is the price, at an average of ten dollars a plate it’s a bit steep for the quantity. By the way, this is merely a store, not a restaurant. All items are to go only.

I am very satisfied with the taste of the food. The only reason I give 4 stars is because of the price. Food has good taste and a lot of different selections

Great service here! Love the selections and the ease of buying meals from here. With a brand new baby I was searching for healthy quick options for meals and I’m happy I found this place! Now some meals are delicious and some were disappointing. I love the salmon and quinoa dish but the flat iron steak was a huge miss. I won’t ever be getting that one again. Good portion controlling and lots of choices. It’s expensive but not much more than groceries and less than getting take out every meal.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. She gave me the whole rundown on how the place works and explained labeling on foods. Great selection on health conscience foods. A bit pricey, but worth it if you’re serious about healthy eating and portion control. Definitely visiting again.

My Fit Foods is expensive, but some of their meals are pretty good! I especially like their salmon and quinoa dish. Whenever I go in to purchase a meal, I only buy one or two at a time — I never buy for several days in a row. I have never had a breakfast dish from here that I actually enjoyed — they were all pretty bland.

Food is not bad, but not great either. I can’t imagine any premade meal worth $ 10. I tried them a few times and I’m done.

I went into My Fit Foods because I liked the concept of having healthy pre-made foods available. I work 40+ hours a week, go to school and have more than a few health problems that cause me to be limited in what I can eat. I figured if I at least have some quick, healthy options it could help with my eating since my health problems cause me to be very nauseous and vomit which leads to not wanting to eat. When I went in late one night to check out what was in store I noticed that almost every meal contained some sort of meat protein. I thought that this might be because it was the end of the day and the store clerk stated that they receive shipments every morning of foods made daily. Interested in what they might have to offer I set up an appointment with a nutritionist on a Sunday afternoon to see if this might be something that could be a good solution for my situation. When I showed up on a Sunday(after being sick all weekend in bed with a bad cold) I found out that the nutritionist was out sick and the general manager was going to give us the consult orientation and the nutritionist would call me back the next day. I was vey upset because I would have rather stayed in bed and rested instead of coming into an appointment with the general manager. When filling out the paperwork I started to notice that this more then likely wouldn’t be a good option based on the simplistic questions they asked to get an overview of me for the«21 day challenge». The general manager literally read they’re brochure verbatim and told me that this would not be an option because the meal plans are only based on meat based protein meals and since my doctors prefer I eat fish and chicken 3 times a week and meet once a month they could not tailor any meals even though they’re made daily. I thought that I might be able to try for a week to see if healthy meat options might be ok for my body. When I started looking into the food quality I found out that the quality is quite poor with farm raised fish, chicken and beef. In finding this out I realized there was no way I could be on the my fit food diet because nothing messes with my stomach more then shity meat. When the nutritionist called me back she spend a majority of the time verifying my contact information and when I asked if she had spoke with the general manager she said yes and she was worried about all the medications I am taking and not really about my health issues. I was very frustrated at this point because I would have rather rescheduled the time with the nutritionist then spend an hour of my Sunday and a frustrating phone conversation repeating myself from Sunday. Eventually I got the nutritionist to tell me that there is no way that they could make this work for me and that she understood because she was on the same diet. I would figure that if she was on the same diet she would have understood instead of trying to sell but that was not the case. I understand that with my health problems I have very limited options and would not have been upset about the program not working for me based on what they offer for meals. What frustrated me was that they wasted my time to get me in the door to try and sell me a product instead of looking how to help me as an individual. If you are the type of person who has minimal health problems, wants to loose weight fast, have a fast meal option and not care about food quality or an expensive price then My Fit Foods is for you.

My boyfriend and I met Victoria in January 2014 and have been in love with my fit foods ever since(and Victoria)! We started with our consultation and then started our 21 day challenge. We both lost over 10lbs during our 21 day challenge and have been on the program ever since. We pick up every Sunday and Wednesday. I love the program because the food is not only delicious it is so easy and convenient. Not only have I lost a good amount of weight my energy levels have gone through the roof! The program has helped me develop habits so when I go out of town or have date nights I stay on track with my fitness goals. I have been a customer of my fit foods for three months and will continue. Thank you to my fit foods and Victoria for making my life a heck of a lot easier. I love you guys!

Last time I went they had few vegetarian options and this time they had none. I wondered if I came at a bad time, but I was surprised that they don’t carry any at all! It really annoys me when people suggest fish to me when I ask for vegetarian food. This place really needs to step up its veggie game. Not only are you losing a customer base, you are alienating people by not understanding that there are people who don’t eat Any meat and that yes, fish is «meat».

Loving it! My husband and I were wanting not only a healthy, well-balanced, low carb dinner option but also a fast and wallet friendly alternative to eating out. My busy work schedule doesn’t allow for many gourmet creations these days so I suggested to my husband that we do a quick trial run of 6 entrée selections to see what we think, we tried: Beef Fit Up, Best’o Pesto Chicken, Butternut Pork-loin, Denyse’s Killuh Chili, Roasted Vegetable Dinner with Salmon and the Zesty Shrimp and Scallops. We rated each meal on a scale of 1 – 5. We based our scores on taste, satisfying portion and the likelihood that we would want to eat it again. Here are the results: Beef Fit Up = 3/5, Best’o Pesto Chicken = 4/5, Butternut Pork-loin = 5/5, Denyse’s Killuh Chili = 5/5, Roasted Vegetable Dinner with Salmon = 5⁄5 and the Zesty Shrimp and Scallops = 4⁄5 We absolutely loved the Pork, Chili and the Salmon. My picky husband even said he could eat that chili every single night which is an excellent complement. The flavors are spectacular and the quality of ingredients far outweighs the fact that an entrée averages 8 – 10 dollars(which in actuality is a lot cheaper than going out and a much healthier option). Complements to the chef, truly my new favorite way to get a quick dinner fix.

If you have the budget to afford this, I think it’s an excellent choice for a fresh, healthy and very tasty way to eat, especially if you don’t cook well or you don’t have time to cook yourself. I’ve never had Jenny Craig or Weight Watcher meals but I can’t believe they could nearly be as good as My Fit Foods. I won 2 free meals – honestly, it’s too pricey for my budget but like I said, if you aren’t cooking yourself then this is an excellent option. I had the steak tacos – delicious and pretty darn spicy, which I loved. The steak was very tender, there were quite a few very fresh vegetables. And, the 3 tacos were quite filling. I also tried the pesto chicken with zucchini pasta. The taste was really good, the chicken was extremely moist and tender. The only think I didn’t like is that I was expecting«pasta» but it is really just shredded zucchini. This was not filling. I had to supplement it with a baked potato. It seems their target market must be singles or couples. I can’t imagine the cost of trying to feed a family of 4 or 5. I also think the packaging is a wasteful. I’m going to reuse the 2 containers I got but 2 is plenty for my kitchen. The containers are pretty heavy-duty plastic that are a shame to throw into landfills. It might be neat to have a «buy-back» program for customers to bring in their old containers for reuse and get .75(or whatever) off the price of their next meal.

Went in with a free any meal up to $ 9.00 coupon from a friend. I was pleasantly surprised at how uncomplicated it was. I thought I would have to listen to a hard sell presentation. Was very wrong! The young lady with long blonde hair who helped me on Saturday was very nice, knowledgeable about the serving sizes, flavors and how the program worked. I took home the Blazing Cajun Shrimp. WOW is this spicy! The dirty rice is the spicy part. The shrimp, I did not recook. I cooked the rice just a bit longer to make it very hot and tossed the shrimp into it to warm them. I did the same with the asparagus so as to not overcook it.. It was so delicious, that this item will be a staple if I decide to go along with a longer challenge. For one person, Doing the math, the serving size already portioned out for you, the ingredients all the seasonings to cook such diverse menus is actually right in line or less than buying all the ingredients individually from the market with the exception that I don’t have to cook or clean up a giant mess. I am very pleased with this selection and may try their three day challenge to see how it works for me. One of my coworkers had the breakfast taco’s once and they are loaded with onions and garlic. not what I would consider breakfast food but I may try the three day challenge for lunch and dinner. What have I got to loose. but a few pounds! The convenience of the location is also terrific. right next to Trader Joes and if you park in the side lot, no parking nightmare.

My Fit Foods has a pretty large selections of healthy packaged foods to choose from which I love. The place is more of a pick up and to-go food place than a sit down lunch or dinner venue. So I wouldn’t expect to eat there because I’m pretty much sitting next to bunch of big refrigerators. I would give 5 stars to the following dishes… Pear Salmon Perfectly healthy and tasty! Nothing like a lean piece of Salmon and some sweet and crunchy pears over a bed of Baby Spinach. Slim Me Down Salmon Cakes This dish actually taste like it came from 4 star restaurant(professionally made with a lot of flavor). It is made up of Atlantic Salmon, eggs, celery, and peppers baked to perfection on a bed of asparagus. Breakfast Tacos The breakfast tacos are by far my favorite My Fit Food dish at the moment. They are extremely filling(a small portion is 2 tacos and a medium is 3). I could easily eat these everyday! YUM! 4 stars to the following dishes… Lean Lemon Turkey I really like this dish because it is very simple yet very tasty. Just some simple lean turkey meat on top of a bed of rice. The secret to this dish is the lemon juice, it ultimately brings out the tasty turkey flavor. 3 stars for the following dishes… Wes’ Country Dinner This is the healthy version of the normal chicken strips. It has mashed cauliflower with tastes amazing with some Kale and Spinach. I love this dish and would normally give it a 4 stars but sometimes the flavor for the mashed cauliflower is not constant everytime. Denyse’s Killuh Chili This dish is a bit better than the Mario’s Marine Corps Mash but again it lacks the texture and the flavor to be at least 4 stars 1stars for the following dishes… Mario’s Marine Corps Mash I dislike this dish the most because I feel that it is bland and I tastes like mashed beans with no flavor its just a strange feeling.

Pretty tasty prepackaged meals that offer a way to control calories. I do like the idea, and I even like the few meals I’ve tried, but I can’t say I really think it’s worth the price. The few times I’ve had food from here usually stemmed from no time to make something at home and no desire to eat something from a drive-thru, and I guess on those occasions I would recommend a trip to this place, but that’s really the only time I would say it’s worth it.

the people working there were nice… but i felt like they wanted me to join a cult. it should be called«fit and spicy food» …they over do it on the peppers. mainly because the food tastes awful. healthy food can be tasty & not too spicy…

I woke up late today. It was already a rough start at 8 am. I endured traffic going to Redondo Beach from Buena Park to see my new rheumy. The drive was not bad but the time. wow, reminds me why I have stopped going out to LA often. The office visit ended on a weird note for me and I left the area, dazed & contemplative. Somehow, I have fast metabolism. It’s a new realization. All during the office visit, my belly was squeaking. I wondered when it would awaken to a full on yawning roar. So, driving back, I came across My Fit Foods. I had no idea what it was, but it seemed more legit than everywhere else.(I later came across a WF. pff) Anyhow, they have a large parking lot. Easily holds 20 in front. I guess they are a «market». A market that consisted of pre-packaged foods with re-usable packaging and snacks and drinks and other substantial fodder. I had no idea what they were about and there was not a single«Hello!» when I walked in, though I could easily see four of them lounging around. So I perused on my own and was a little delighted to see what I saw. Then I paid. — for a snack that consisted of 3 apple slices, 5 red grapes, 1 hard boiled egg dusted with cayenne pepper, and a smaller container of peanut butter. $ 4.50(still trying to figure out how all of that could possibly come out to $ 4.50.) — for a medium sized dinner of chili which was beef, tomato chunks, spices, and black beans. $ 8.something Hey, I mentioned that I have fast metabolism. Well, I also have slow digestion. I don’t know how the hell that works. Maybe I don’t have a fast metabolism and somehow, I just manage to lose weight/stay constant by being completely lazy and drinking beer. Possible? So, slow digestive system okay. The snack lasted me about 30 minutes before I felt hungry again. I believe they had it somewhere on a piece of paper that these meals/snacks are filling enough to sustain you for 3 hours. The drive home took about 50 minutes, so I microwaved my chili when I got home. I ate at 2:30 pm. It is currently 3:32 pm and I am fucking starving. A meal that is 300 calories keeps me full for at least 2 hours. Sometimes I’ll delegate to eat two spoonfuls of brown rice and lots of Korean banchan. This is basically um, 2 spoonfuls of grain and the rest are 0 caloric vegetables. Shucks, just eating that sparse meal keeps me going for at least 3 hours. The food I get out of my own kitchen is healthier and by far, more fulfilling. The 2 stars are not for being hungry though, they are for a serious lack of complimentary service and pricey meals, where most of the cost is actually with the packaging.

In error, I posted a review about the Torrance store rather than the HB store. However, as this chain is very similar from store to store, and my review was about the food itself, I will most likely be saying the same thing about here as there, except that the Torrance store has more parking(large lot, next to Trader Joe’s). Will update as soon as possible.

Update(¾/12) I removed just one star because the breakfast I ate(the small H Town breakfast) did not satisfy me at all! I was still hungry afterwards. I know it’s for people who watch their calories, but I honestly can’t see a grown adult being satisfied after eating this for breakfast. That was my only problem with the 2 things I bought. Still want to try more! I really like the whole concept of healthy, ready-to-go meals. First Review(2÷29÷12) I drove to Trader Joes earlier tonight, with no idea that a new store was opening right next door. I saw the brightly lit store My Fit Foods and decided to check it out. The store opened just yesterday(Feb.28,2012). The store is very spacious and almost seems empty except the row of freezers against one wall and the cash register. Also there are some tables to eat and a microwave to heat up the food. This store has one main goal: provide healthy pre-packaged meals that suit everyone and anyone with different food diets. They provide gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian meals(along with other regular meals). The foods are also«diabetic-friendly.» These pre-packaged meals’ descriptions include: expiration date, how to heat them up, calories, and weight in grams and ounces. Most of the meals have sizes, too: small, medium, large. There are some(like the cran apple oatmeal that I just bought) that comes in only one size. The convenience comes not only in the packaging but also the info provided: 5 small meals(2 snacks, small breakfast, small lunch, and small dinner) = ~1200 calories/day. 5 medium meals(2 snacks, med breakfast, med lunch, and med dinner) = ~1500 calories/day. Grams of protein already weighed out for you. I bought 2 breakfasts because cereal and milk just don’t cut it sometimes. What I bought: — Cran Apple Oatmeal one size — $ 4.75 — steel cut oats, apples, cinnamon, cranberries, walnuts, and protein powder — H-Town Breakfast small — $ 5.25 — 5:1 ratio eggs, low glycemic rosemary new potatoes and lean turkey bacon I’m going to eat one of them tomorrow, so I’ll update then. I was just so excited to write about this new place I discovered that I couldn’t wait til tomorrow! I will definitely be going back if these 2 meals taste good. They look really good, so hopefully they taste good too.
