Melody did a great job on my hair adding super natural sun kissed highlights. I love the nice layered cut she gave it too! I’m so happy and will be returning and referring !!! Thanks Melody, everyone loves my hair :)

Went to this salon for a spiral perm in mid February after seeing the affordable prices and other reviews. I met with Melody for a consultation about my hair before doing the perm (which I scheduled a couple days later).
Call for an appointment. The salon is calming, not noisy or overwhelming because Melody is mostly there alone. She also brings her little chihuahuas who are super cute.
My perm: Spiral perm on thick shoulder length hair. Took about 1.5−2 hours just to roll it in the perm curlers! She then soaked it with the perming solution, and it was about another 40-​minute ordeal of washing, soaking, waiting for perming solution. But totally worth it!
The perm price is $ 75. For extra solution (which I needed) another $ 5 was added. Total for an amazing perm — $ 80.
Final thoughts: If you’re going from straight to curly hair like I wanted, go for the spiral perm and use the smallest curlers. I used the second size up from the smallest, and my hair is still curly at the bottom, but requires curl cream to get the full effect. I still love how fun it is, 2 months later. And Melody knows how to make you NOT look like a poodle from the 80’s.

Started out at Shear Paradise in 2010 after signing up for some student haircut promotion on campus.
Although I keep moving around the Los Angeles area, I end up disappointed with other stylists closer to wherever I’m living, and I always make my way back to Torrance to see Melody, the owner and one of the stylists.
She’s a pro at what she does and also a great person overall. I’m not the most chit chatty person, but I always end up having a blast talking about local events, family, relationships etc with melody.
She can take a description as vague as «3 layers and the top layer short, kind of like a helmet» and turn it into a great cut. Seriously though, for the price you get a great result and a bonus fun time. She goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are satisfied.

Shear Paradise is a salon dedicated to making clients happy. Melody is an awesome stylist. She truly listens and cares about getting you the look you’re after. I don’t trust very many people with my cuts or color, but Melody is someone you can always trust.
Recently, I was in jam and looking for someone to help my mom with hair and make up for my sister’s wedding. The wedding was on a Sunday and I was not having any luck. Melody offered to come into the salon and even convinced her make up artist to also come in. So many people commented on how beautiful my mom looked. She told me that both Melody and the make up artist made her feel so special and comfortable and she truly enjoyed being pampered before the wedding.
I’m so grateful to have a salon near-​by that never disappoints!

I’m writing this review for my sister who doesn’t have Unilocal.I showed my sister deals on haircuts on Groupon. We decided on Melody it was a great deal for what you get and she was available right away. We went and were pleasantly surprised with no fuss parking in the rear. Melody was so nice and helpful to my sister as her hair was damaged. She did a hair treatment and offered great advice. She gave my sister a great cut and even gave her a comb to take home. Best part is she gave us great price for future cuts. We will defiantly be going back.

I have been following Deborah for years! She really listens to what you want and makes it happen! Never been let down.

The lady [Melody] who owns this place and is a stylist as well, is very kind and sweet to new and old clients! This place had parking space in the rear which is helpful to stay tension free when your at the salon!
she keeps you relaxed and comfortable while she is working on your hair. Also provides lot of tips on how to maintain good and healthy hair.
The blow drying after a haircut was not so neat, but loved the way she gently spoke and cut the hair!
Would definetly recommend people to visit this salon!
