Touch of Glass

I first went to Touch of Glass in 2012 — it was a revelation after wearing glasses for 25 years. The glasses I got from Dean fit perfectly — I’d never had glasses that fit and complimented me so well. My prescription didn’t change enough to warrant new glasses for four years — the glasses never needed adjustment in all that time.
I just got a new pair, beautifully done and perfectly fit again.
His selection of frames is impressive and he has a very good eye and more importantly, does not shy away from pointing out a frame you may like doesn’t suit you.

My wife and I have been going to Dean for several years. He is one of very few opticians that can fit lenses to your frame in house. Most send everything to the lab.
His frame selection is much better than most, especially if you need specials such as titanium. He will also order any frame that is available. I will never go to any of the chain stores again.

Have been going to Dean Bell for thirty five years… very knowledgeable .very reasonable in pricing… the best for giving adjustments and always will adjust with no charge… do not agree with the other review at all… happy to post my opinion here. and parking is very good…

Not good. Overcharged for Crizal anti-​glare coating ($ 150) that was never even put on! After two opticians looked at the glasses and informed me I did not have the coating, I brought it to the owner’s attention who could care less since it was past my 90 day period. Isn’t he supposed to be looking at the glasses and checking them when they come back from the lab? As a customer I would not know nor do I think one has to then take glasses to another place to verify they were done correctly. It is an expensive place and rough hours to catch him if you work, and a long wait time as he is the only person and goes away a lot, so if your glasses are due in and he is gone, add another 10 days to wait to get them. So many other places that are far better with a nicer selection and better attention. Owner is getting up there in years and found his eyesight to not be accurate in noticing things, or at least I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he doesn’t seem to care at this point, like he is doing us a favor. He also filed the temples on two of my brand new glasses and they were never able to hold the adjustment. Told me he was giving me a special discount and turns out to be the same rate as the other places. Don’t waste your money or time here. I normally don’t even write reviews but when I buy something and it is agreed on about coatings, I expect to not get ripped off in the process.
