I cannot recommend this place for brunch. The mimosas were weak. You could not taste the champagne, so the bottomless deal is a scam. The breakfast food was terrible. The pancakes were soggy. The syrup is pre packaged. The«hash browns» were just potatoes. The omelette a are made with Kraft singles sandwich cheese. This place is a bar that does brunch because it is a college town and doesn’t attempt to make the food even average. I did feel bad for the bartender as he had no help despite others being around and not doing anything.

5STARREVIEW Service 3 — I had to wait about 10min for two beer bottles, but then again I’m from NY where everything is a rush. Ambiance 5 — spent a majority of my time upstairs, its beautiful up there with people dancing, drinking and a beautiful balcony with an outside bar. With the body heat in there it wasn’t cold being outside in November at all! Cleanliness 1 — I SAIDONE!!! The women’s bathroom had an overflowing toilet that had soaked the floor with a centimeter of toilet water which then soaked my suede shoes :( Food/Drinks didn’t eat there, but drinks were priced normally. They were having a $ 2.00 special, but on Bud Light Overall 4 I loved the environment. There was such a diverse mix of people. All different races, genders, fashion styles, sexuality preferences and everyone was just there to have a good time. It was great, I loved it. The age range seems like 20−30s music was current but bummer they closed at like 1:30am? During a trip visiting a friend at TU, she brought me here to «CVP’s.» I have to admit I wish we had something like this on Long Island !

Good spot… When it’s open! The past 4 – 5 times l’ve come here the upstairs and back room have been closed for private parties, leaving one small room for everyone else during a busy night or football game. Unacceptable for a sports bar — they should be able to make room for a party and their regular customers.

After a nice dinner nearby, our group was looking for a place to wind down with a holiday nightcap. As we stood in the street discussing our options, a college-aged guy walked by, overheard us, and stopped to recommend CVP in the highest terms. We were impressed by his initiative and decided to give it a try. Once inside, however, we were not as impressed. Music was blaring, drink selections poor and the crowd was. .. well, we could see why the college guy we met outside recommended it. We were definitely the oldest ones there, and though we were all carded at the door, we began to see younger and younger patrons enter. I’m a high school teacher, so I know the look of underage kids, and there were quite a few there. After finishing our drinks quickly, we left, just in time to hear one of the bouncers make a fitting, but really inappropriate joke: «Sorry, you have to be at least 16 to get in here!» Yuck. No thanks. Although the bartender was courteous and the place was clean, we wouldn’t return unless they had hired a more ethical FOH team.

Went for Saturday brunch on a whim since we were in the area. There were 5 tables filled up in the whole restaurant, but for some reason they had the poor bartender waiting tables and running the bar. There were other servers kinda hanging out, but not working very much it seemed. Although we were the second table seated and ordered(the table before us were halfway through their meal when we sat) it still took a good 40 minutes for an omelette and french toast. Meanwhile, three tables after us got their food while we were still waiting for drink refills, and the food was barely warm when we got it. Finally we had to take our check to the bar to pay for the meal. Not that we were instructed to, but no one was coming to our table so I took the initiative. Not a great experience overall. The Bailey’s French Toast does reheat well, so I’ll give them that at least.

Best part is that their drinks are much cheaper than other bars uptown. The rooftop is nice but cramped and people are always smoking. Music is usually good. Food is average. Has a generally nice atmosphere and definitely should be your first stop when going to different bars because of the drink deals and cheaper(more fair) prices.

We decided to try out the Charles Village Pub for breakfast. This is truly a bar for the Millennium Generation. The bar was virtually empty at 11 am on a Sunday. We loved it because it was quiet and peaceful. Gino took excellent care of us — when we ordered coffee, he said he would make us a fresh pot — a very nice touch. We each ordered omelets, one with ham, shredded Monterey and cheddar cheeses, and the Mushroom Omelet with blue cheese, spinach, onion and cheddar cheese — both generous size and very filling. They were accompanied with bacon, hash browns and toast. We left full and happy.

Show up early and grab a seat on their porch upstairs. Great live music and the food is good enough to eat! For a place I can walk too, I won’t complain much…

What does CVP mean to you? For me it was always somewhere you had to stop by on your late night rounds. They serve fishbowl drinks and have good space upstairs. There is outdoor space both upstairs and downstairs. I never knew that this place had a kitchen that was open until 1AM. You can order food from the bar downstairs. I got the chicken quesadilla, fries and my friend got the rabbit food platter aka veggies with hummus and cheese dip. It was a pretty well packed quesadilla that came with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. The fries were good as well making for a decent late night eat. This is a solid bar for dancing and the crowd is usually pretty cool. I haven’t seen the usual recklessness that you see in the main strip there. I’ve never had a bad time here so let’s hope I didn’t jinx that.

I have been here for lunch on several occasions and have not been disappointed. Service is fast and friendly, the Reuben and burgers are both good! Definitely recommend the old bay chips… They are made fresh daily.

Very chill atmosphere with great table service from COURTNEY. She was very attentive, had a good attitude, the establishment was cleaner than most and the spinach dip was great. This was a nice change of pace from my negative encounter around the corner at Greene Turtle. I’d definitely come back when I visit the Towson area

What a great place to hang out and watch a game. The Calvert Hall class of 83 and 84 are planning the 80s retro mixer. It is going to be a great event. If your hungry the food is great. Visit and get your tickets before they sell out.

Had a business meeting for early dinner, food was good but ambient was off, insects biting my collegues legs indoors, flies constantly flying over our food, felt like an outdoor picnic swatting. No manager came to speak to our group or offer a correction. Bug lamp must not be operating correctly. Burgers are always good, overall group appreciated the cuisine. We will reserve our future group meeting, elsewhere.

We used to come here every Monday night for trivia for about six months. They had half price burgers on Monday’s, but they raised the price on them and were really shady about it. Now the only half price burger is a plain burger. They also won’t let you take one of these half-price burgers to go, which is really lame. Service is… eh. They had one waitress, who doubled as a bartender, for an entire room full of people. She was good, but she was always overwhelmed and it took forever to get drink orders in and refills. Their late night bar specials don’t start until really late, so until then, it’s fairly expensive to get a drink. The food is ok, but it’s also pricey.

EXPENSIVE. Horrible nachos– how could you possibly F them up? Waiter seemed pissed we used a groupon — and the place just downright blows if it’s not thurs-saturday after 11pm. Otherwise its a nice watering hole after hours…

Thank you for ruining my Mother’s Day. Website said you opened at 10:00. I had my meal planned and we walked from home hungry and ready for a nice meal… only to find you closed. When we called you said you opened at 11:00. Um… your website clearly said 10:00. Not happy, and will not be back.

I was in Towson and I realized I hadn’t been to CVP since the fire. I thought it had been too long. I should have waited. The front bar area has all the charm of a Holiday Inn lobby and if I were just going by the patrons I’d have thought it was a middle management job fair. The bartender was nice enough, but not great. Not particularly attentive, but nice. I ordered the ‘special bacon blend bacon burger’. Great idea I thought — a greedy treat. I received a dry puck that was broken in the center, covered in a gross amount of american cheese. If you asked me what the meat was seasoned with, I’d say velveeta. Oh, and because it was the special bacon burger, it was topped with two soggy oscar mayer microwave bacon pieces. And a flavorless, raw potato bun to tie the whole package together. I changed my mind — the best thing was the soggy, cold side of fries(that I payed $ 2 extra to add to the $ 13 burger) that had probably been under a heat lamp since the lunch rush. This was a disgrace to burgerdom. An affront to baconhood. An insult to pubgrub-onomy! I love the original Charles Village location, but this Towson façade is a hollow shadow of the charm and character of it’s namesake — a classic Baltimore dive with great food and friendly service. You just can’t replicate character in the county — stick to the original in Baltimore City.

I’ve never eaten here. It was very busy during HH, service was friendly efficient but a little slow. Understandable for a busy fri. I ordered the HH hummus platter. It was delicious. The spicy feta was great and veggies and pita were good.

My husband and I had our first date here before the fire. It was halfway between our houses. Now we live 2 miles away and pop in more frequently than we should for their delicious burgers! If you are a) not a sports fan and b) not in college and c) not a raging drunk you may want to come for happy hour and a little beyond dinner, but after 8 – 9 there is an influx of types a, b, and c. Just a heads up! The new building is gorgeous! A welcoming interior for any hour. Give it a shot! You’ll come back — for their orange crushes or bottomless drinks for ladies on Thursday nights.
