Do not go to this endodontist. Not only does he take two visits to complete one root canal, but he is unable to even complete the root canal, in some cases. Instead of being honest with you about his inability to complete the work, he lies to you and says that your tooth probably only has one root. Which leaves you with the same infection in your head that you went there to have fixed. Lucas has a bad attitude and does not even bother to come put and talk to you about follow up care after the procedure. The office manager, Kia, is rude and nasty. Too bad as the rest of the staff is very nice. Very poor service, very bad attitude, very poor work. I went back after the first two visits that he took to complete the root canal and told him that I was still experiencing pain and he shined me on and said that it must be another tooth causing the pain. I have now had to go to another endodontist to fix the mess that that Lucas caused, and he refuses to return my money so that I can use it to fix the root canal that he could not do. The man should not be practicing dentistry, and his partner Dr. Richardson should nor be backing him up. I have seen Dr. Lucas four times for one root canal which turned out that he had not even done one of the two roots. He was rude, arrogant, and patronizing. DONOTGOTOTHISDENTIST.

I was referred to Dr. Lucas for a root canal and was less than satisfied with the experience – the fact of a pending root canal aside – due to the attitude of the endodontist. This was not my first such procedure and, typically, front tooth root canals are done in one visit unless the condition is severe enough to necessitate two visits(one to clean the root and one to fill, basically; note that, due to the number of roots, molars may require two visits). Though I was able to get an appointment the same day as the referral(a plus and the reason for a 3 over an otherwise 2-star experience), I was anesthesized and prepped before the dentist even came by to discuss the procedure with me. Once Dr. Lucas appeared, I learned that this would be a two-time visit, not counting the crown work that would be done by my general dentist in a third visit. Had I known this, I would have gone to another endodontist who practices the other methodology in the dental art, a one-day root canal, as I was preparing to go out of town and needed my tooth stabilized. Since I was already anesthesized and spent some time waiting, leaving would have been a waste by promoting pain and suffering(besides, it was after 5 pm by now so a same-day appointment elsewhere would be impossible). Also, Dr. Lucas was visibly surprised and somewhat annoyed that I had questions and opinions, which is a minus in my book. Overall, everything worked out – in my second visit, Dr. Lucas was friendlier, by the way – and, eventually, the tooth was fixed. However, I am definitely asking all future endodonsits about their root canal practices beforehand, to be read as, in the waiting area or even over the phone! Given the option, I will go to a one-time root canal practice in the future: in most cases, there is just no need for the two-time pain-and-suffering!
