The biggest let down is how rushed we felt and they seemed annoyed. If I’ve never been to a place I expect a few minutes to figure out what I want. They also didn’t have as big of a selection as I was thinking. The ice cream was good and the waffle cone was on point. Usually I get cookies and cream if they don’t have a cheesecake/fruit or vanilla/fruit flavor ice cream but they didn’t have any. So chocolate it was.

Best ice cream I’ve ever had! I recommend the caramel sea salt and straight vanilla because I feel like you can really taste the difference in these two flavors compared to every other ice cream.

The creamiest, most flavorful, most delicious ice cream ever! We had the peanut butter, cookie dough, cherries moobilee, and vanilla pretzel caramel. Would recommend them all, especially the cherries moobilee!

Best ice Cream I’ve ever had. My niece had to visit this ice cream shop because they have a live cows there. We waited about 40 minutes just to get the ice cream but I’m definitely glad we did. The ice cream was some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life and the ironic thing was two days later I read in the Detroit Free Press that this ice cream shop was rated the best ice cream shop in the United States.

Moomers is incredible. I was visiting from Missouri, and saw it was the top ice cream place based on reviews and couldn’t pass it up. The ice cream does not disappoint! I got a flight of ice cream(the dream) and the flavored were amazing. The only thing that was disappointing was their famous flavor the cherry jubilee(affectionately names cherry moo-bilee) it was my least favorite flavor.

We would’ve tried this even if it wasn’t the«best ice cream in the USA» — though it lives up to the title. Between the two of us we tried four flavors and were hard-pressed to think of any ice cream that was better. It’s smooth, creamy, delicious, and the flavors are always changing and unique. Just go try it!

Nice country side location, not a lot of paved parking space, very nice seating and happy customer service. We ordered the Ice Cream flight, 5 small scoops of rich soft yummy Ice cream. Cherry mobilee was good had cherries and chunks of brownies. Coffee caramel was 3 star. Cookies and cream was 2 star. Salted Caramel was my favorite 4 star. Chocoholic as the name says it had lotss of chocolate. Would come back again on TC visit.

For all the talk this place wasn’t that great. Going to the ice cream shop would be just as good, we were expecting to go up close to the cows and see the ice cream making process but neither happened. They have tours you need to reserve well in advance. Ice cream was yummy though

A staple for the Northern MI diet. There’s usually a family group text that goes out on a Friday afternoon saying, «Mooooo!» That means we’re all meeting at Moomers around 7pm. We love Moomers!

Hands down the best Bloody Mary I have ever had! Well worth it! Great atmosphere as well as menu options. A short, but scenic, drive from Traverse City. Great menu options and opening soon is their roof top seating. We will be back soon!

Good, but not great. The waffle cones are excellent. A strong waffle flavor without over powering the ice cream. The texture was crunchy fresh. They were expertly formed with a great sealed bottom to eliminate the chance of creamy goodness dripping on your foot wear. Unfortunately the French Vanilla did not have the texture one expects of ‘homemade’ ice cream. It lacked that full creamy feel of a small batch ice cream. The French Vanilla flavor lacked that deep body I am accustomed to from gourmet type Vanilla. Not much better than a Baskin Robbins. The menu has lots of creative ice dishes which would be nice to try in the future, but I won’t make this a ‘destination’ ice cream shop, meaning I won’t go out of my way for it. If your in the area and need an ice cream fix: stop in. Having cows next door are nice until they are up wind. Nothing like catching the natural fragrance of cow manure while eating average ice cream.

Growing up, we always came to Traverse City to visit my grandparents and stopping by Moomers was always one of the highlights of our stay! Needless to say, 15 years later, it is still my favorite ice cream shop! I talk about Moomers back home in Scottsdale, AZ all the time so it is such a treat to be able to have some! Can’t go wrong with the Cherry Moobile!

The best ice cream in the world. The dairy is very cute and the lines moves quickly even when they are busy. They offer a well priced sampler. Good, fresh waffle cones. I’ve tried many of their flavors and they are all awesome. Cherries Moobilee is the best thing ever. The only downside to this location was that they did not have many flavors available. There is actually a scoop shop in Frankfort with more available flavors, of this brand. They do ship but if you are shipping outside the state it gets prohibitively expensive. I have no idea how shipping anything to the east coast can cost over $ 170, even with the cold packing.

Not sure how you could not give them a 5 star for their ice cream. The only negative was when we went their for lunch and for dinner on one day and went back the next day to try a flavor they had the day before only to find out they were sold out if that flavor(yes — was impressed enough to go 3 times in 2 days). They cycle through their flavors a bunch… so lesson of the story is if you see something you like you better order it when you are there. I suggest getting the sampler platter so you can try a variety of their flavors… but get with a side of their homemade caramel… it is SOGOOD!

Fantastic local ice cream shop. Very creamy, well-balanced flavors, and an excellent, curteous staff. Even though the lines get long(rightfully so), don’t run off. Their team will move through the line quickly and you’ll enjoy the ice cream at the end.

I’m a fan of their waffle cones. not the greatest non-dairy selection, but then again it is on a dairy farm.

Ice cream, ice cream! And voted best in the United States by popular vote in 2008? You’ve got me curious… We stopped by here just before the local post dinner dessert rush to see what the fuss was about… Lots of flavors, plenty of great customer service! Here’s what stood out: Cherry Moobilee — So good… this is the one to get. Cherries, chocolate swirls, and brownie chunks? It’s like a little taste of all that’s good in the world… Coffee caramel — Decently strong coffee flavor with sweet caramel throughout. Pretty well done. SaMOOa: Are you a fan of those girl scout samoa cookies? If so, this is your jam! Get on it! So why three stars you ask? Well, here’s what annoyed me a bit… they’ve got a farm with cows that you can overlook from their ice cream shop(even a little porch to watch them) leading you to believe that they milk the cows and make the ice cream… no, they don’t claim it, but when you set up a cow farm right there, it’s kind of an implied purpose… I have no idea if they originally were milking cows for their ice cream and just expanded to the point where they couldn’t anymore, or if it’s always been like that, but at this point, their ice cream is has a lot of stabilizer/softeners in it that help maintain it’s texture… And for a place that advertises«a taste of country» and«homemade», it feels like false advertising now to me. Dont’ get me wrong… the Cherry Moobille and Samooa were quite good flavor wise… but the texture of the ice cream seems off to me… like it’s just a bit too soft, almost slightly gooey in texture. Verdict: I’d probably come back if I was in the area for the both those flavors I mentioned above… but it just doesn’t quite sit right with me that a homemade ice cream place is using chemical stablizers/softeners for their ice cream…

I could’ve sworn I reviewed this place… anywho, I think I may have made MHIC to be the God of all ice cream and was disappointed the last couple times I came here. The ice cream serving size is very generous but you do get what you pay for. The ice cream is okay in my opinion and I realized the texture of the ice cream is very creamy and buttery. The butteriness to me almost takes some of the flavor away. This location is about 15 minutes west of Traverse City and on a farm, where you can see the cows they milk to make the ice cream. It is definitely worth it to grab some ice cream at MHIC, if you’ve never been here before. I would recommend going during the summer months but beware of all the bees outside that tend to gravitate towards ice cream.

With a name like Moomers I couldn’t resist coming here on my vacation up North. The line wasn’t too long, waited about 15 – 20 minutes. There were a lot of options to choose from, 19 flavors that day! Since it was the Cherry Festival I got Cherries Jubilee, and a random flavor Lemon Poppyseed Muffin. My boyfriend got Raspberry Chocolate Chip and Pretzel Something. Cherries Jubilee– perfect cherry ice cream with huge chunks of dark chocolate brownie and cherry pieces. Now find you this would be an ideal flavor if the brownie was broken up more so it didn’t mask the cherry flavor so much. But overall delicious. Creamy goodness. LEMONPOPPYSEEDMUFFIN. I wish I got my whole cone this(chocolate dip btw). It was a very light lemon ice cream with huge poppyseed muffin pieces. How did they do that without getting it mushy, I don’t know, but it’s a magic I’m in love with. Raspberry chocolate chip– a bit too light on the raspberry. needed to be stronger but overall yummy. Vanilla Pretzel. Pretty yummy. Vanilla ice cream with yogurt covered pretzels. He wished it had them covered in chocolate instead. 2 chocolate covered waffle cones with 2 large scoops of ice cream $ 10.30 with a view of cows? Definitely going again!
