The Old Mission Inn is more than just a hotel, its like visiting family. The owners run the inn and have taken great steps to preserve the history of the hotel, oldest continuous hotel in Michigan dating back to 1869. The history of this Michigan landmark has been preserved in the articles on the walls and items throughout. The Jensen’s make you feel right at home as soon as you arrive, offering stories of the inn and friendly banter. A real learning experience as you are drawn in by their historical enthusiasm. The hotel is extremely well maintained especially when you think of the age of the building. We stayed in the Vineyard Room at the top of the stairs. It was a very comfortable room with all the essentials including a sink and refrigerator. The bathrooms were down the hall shared by a couple other rooms and they were always available. We were apprehensive at first by this, but it all worked seamlessly. Breakfast was included with the room served in the dinning area on the ground floor. They offered a made to order breakfast, anything you want on the menu. It was a great start to the day and the food was delicious. My only regret was the short stay. The Jensen’s could not have been better hosts. I would highly recommend the Old Mission Inn to anyone visiting the Traverse City area. Outstanding people, gorgeous location, unique and interesting surroundings. What more could you ask for?

Spent the weekend here for a friends wedding. An adorable place! The inn keepers are so friendly and hospitable. The rooms are clean, updated, and very thoughtfully decorated with antiques and vintage charm. They make a simple hot breakfast to order. The view to the water is beautiful and the have a great horseshoe pit, bonfire ring, play area for kids and hammocks for lounging. I would highly recommend this quaint place to anyone. Very affordable too!!!

We stayed at Old Mission Inn, on a recent trip up to the area for some wine tasting and to check out the fall colors. The Jensens were so welcoming and friendly! Their enthusiasm for the history of the area and their property was contagious, and we learned quite a bit about the inn’s history from them. Our room was cozy and comfortable. The bathrooms were shared, which we didn’t expect, but we didn’t have any issues. Breakfast was made to order and delicious! I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay there and would gladly come back if we find ourselves in the area again.
