Omg… I stayed here in Dec. 2014. I gave a credit card to HOLD the room, and planned to pay in cash upon check in which I TOLD the front desk clerk would be around 5pm. So, I show up at 5pm with the cash to pay for the two nights and prior to me physically arriving, they had already RUN my card for not one but TWO nights! Wow! That is like stealing… what if I hadn’t shown up? Then the rooms the windows DON’T open… staying on the Gulf of Mexico and can’t open window to get a nice breeze… more like being in JAIL! Took a cab home from dinner Saturday night and the cab drive told us that Bill Edwards owns it… well, enough said… too many other great places at Treasure Island to stay where the people are nice and don’t steal your money.

I Love this hotel! If you have a big family/Pets are welcome! or if you like hotels that make you feel at home this is the place! We were in room 17 at the very end of the second floor, has a balcony small but perfect. One room with tv, dresser, queen bed and closet! Fully loaded kitchen/no need to bring the kitchen sink here! Also two queen size beds plus a futon with Tv, small breakfast table with four chairs, coffee pot and coffee. The beach is a little walk from the hotel but it’s worth it. Also there is a concrete beach trail lights up at night, you can walk to John’s pass from it. **ONE thing Each Room is only assign One parking spot, however they do have additional parking across the street. It wasn’t busy, we stayed for three nights in what I think is the biggest room they have. paid right over $ 400. Total! Sun –Wed, I do believe it’s extra for weekend/holidays. **Office is only open until 6, no biggie! No one goes into your room unless you ask for them to. Yes you have to get your own clean towels. I will be returning as soon as I can! I have three kids all under the age of 13! Always on the go! This was the perfect spot in Treasure Island! Btw, I left an electronic device in our room. thought I wouldn’t see it again, but they found it and are holding it for me! Thank you very Much Algiers!

My mom and I were looking to take a mini vacation to Treasure Island and discovered that there are not a shortage of hotels in this area. My mom was the one who selected Algiers Gulf Resort because it was on the beach and the prices were one of the lowest she could find. Checking in was no problem at all. We arrived a couple hours early, but we were able to check in early. The rooms at Algiers are not your normal hotel/motel rooms. The rooms are like mini apartments with a bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen area, and small living area. Make sure you read closely to what you requesting. My mom thought that the one bedroom had two beds, but it didn’t. Our room had one full bed and leather futon in the living area. The apartment is a decent size but be aware that if you put a family in here two people will be on the futon for your stay. The rooms are nicely updated. Our room had a fridge, a toaster, a microwave, a small oven, sink, dishes, table and chairs. This is very convenient if you are planning a week long trip to the beach and want to save money on food. We were able to heat up all our leftovers from dinner for lunch the next day. One thing to mention is that you should probably bring a power strip. There wasn’t enough outlets in the living room for everything. We were constantly having to unplug and plug new things in. Algiers has a very nice pool that is super clean. It isn’t a huge resort style pool but it is nice and relaxing. Behind the pool is the beach. No hotels in Treasure Island are right next to the water. You will have to walk a short distance to get to the actual beach no matter where you stay. Even though our trip was mostly positive, there were a couple negative things. First one is parking. The lot is very small and difficult to get in and out off. There are actually more rooms than parking spaces, so I am curious to know what they do when the hotel is sold out. Also, do not expect any resort style living here. There is no continental breakfast, you have no room service unless you specifically walk to the front desk and ask for it, and we found our self having to go to the front desk a lot to ask for many items such as pillows, blankets, hair dryers which should have already been in the room. Also, the office closes pretty early. Every night when we got back from dinner it was closed. If you checked in late and need something you will be out of luck. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. If I found myself in Treasure Island again I would consider staying here. I do think it is best for people who are staying for a week or longer. If you are coming for just a weekend, you might want to look at different places.
