I wish I could rate it lower than that. We never even got a chance to sample anything other than the water. Order one of their gourmet pizzas and proceeded to wait at least 30 minutes. To make matters worse it was our 4 year anniversary and we were never asked how we were doing. Haven’t ever had Delorenzos but won’t bother. Such an awful customer experience and to think I’ve hung out at Karaōke with the owner. Terrible

The first time we came, the pizza came out great but the salad we ordered was not fresh at all. The second time we came here, the crust of the pizza came out burnt. They only have pizza, salad and desserts on their menu, but I don’t know why the food is not fresh and is not consistent.

There are many five star things about this place. The sauce is great, the amount of cheese on a pie perfect, the host(ess) is/are nice, and the waiters actually seem to care. But there are many problems as well. Half of the time, if you don’t specify«light crust,» your crust will be burned. Like burned black. It’s essentially inedible. Also, these guys get busy, so it’s very possible your waiter may not see you until you’ve had your pie for 5 – 10 minutes. So, on occasion you’ll have to use an old salad plate for your pizza. They also have a limited way to consume wine, so many times you’re going to have to order a half bottle when you just want a glass of Chardonnay.

Don’t understand the hype. The pizza is bland and the crust which was described as «thin» was completely void of flavor and more like a cracker than a crust. The only saving grace was that we ordered one pie with half garlic and it was just ok. Won’t be back.

I have been to this location 3 times now, and with all of my experiences here I don’t know why I keep going back. Two of the times were for lunch and the place was pretty empty when I got there. I had ordered a salad and my friend ordered something else. After waiting for a while they brought out his food and never brought out mine. It was fairly new then so I figured I would just let it go and considering I wasn’t very hungry to begin with I didn’t mention it to the waiter. However I felt like the waiter sat us down and disappeared, only came over 2 times(once to ask us what we wanted to drink and eat) and second time was to deliver the food. We had to call him over to give us our check because he didn’t check up on us. I don’t ever judge a place on just one experience though. I went back there with family and friends. A huge table and it was just okay. Pizza was decent, we all agreed it wasn’t the greatest. I just went back today and had lunch with my boyfriend there(it was his first time going to be eating there and he wanted to try it out.) We get there and it was pretty empty. Our waitress came over right away and asked what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order, we got water with lemon and told her we needed to look at the menu considering we had just been seated. We went with a white pizza with ricotta, spinach and broccoli, we waited for about ten minutes maybe a little more and at this time the place was starting to fill up. I was feeling thankful that we had gotten there when there was no crowd and had already put our order in. About 15 minutes later people who had sat down after us where getting their food(it wasn’t a big deal to me, but I would have liked the waitress to come over at least once and tell us why it was taking so long for our pizza to come out.) I tried not to worry about it because I know sometimes I can be impatient at times. However after another 15 minutes and is being there for 45 minutes WITHOUT receiving ONESMALL pizza I was ready to get up and leave. I had told my boyfriend if it didn’t come out in the next few minutes we would leave. Thankfully we got our pizza about 2 minutes later. And at this point people have came in after us had ordered, ate, paid, and left. We had just gotten our food after being there for 47 minutes ! The pizza was not very good, very thin crust and burnt. My boyfriend who works at a pizzeria couldn’t believe the horrible service, and how bad the Pizza tasted. It was very plain tasting and left a bad after taste in both of our mouths. We were FARFROMPLEASED with our experience here and will not be going back.

When I moved to the area, dozens of people recommended Delorenzo’s as the pizza place to go to. Many of them did tell me that the original location is better, but that this one is still really, really good. I was not impressed. The pizza itself wasn’t all that bad… not great, not special, but not horrible either. The service, however? No thanks. I tried calling the order in advance and the person was rather rude to me. I gave them a second chance a couple months later, and had a very similar experience, plus they messed up my order. It’s not worth the hassle, even though I live near by, and the pizza simply isn’t worth it.

Used to be the bomb at the old location in Trenton. The pizza was always perfection and the staff were always nice and humble. Now the pizza is just so-so. They’ve deff. jeopardized quality of pizza for quantity of customers.

Food: The pizza is a thin-to-medium style here. The sauce wasn’t my favorite but it was good(not too tart, not too sweet). I prefer the bottom/top of the crust to be well-done but not to the point where(the top) is blistered with carcinogen… they cooked the pizza the way I like it. The pizza slices passed the one-handed fold test, it was able to support the weight of the one topping(sausage). The sausage was flavorful(not just an afterthought). I prefer more sauce than cheese, the pie had a good ratio. Service: Our server, runner and cashier were all friendly Pricing: reasonable I would eat here again, I see other pizza combos and salads that I want to try.

Heard a lot about the unique pizzas in this place so called in for a takeaway order. The person who picked up had an immediate attitude, when I gave my order he said he couldn’t hear me and hung up. The attitude left a bad taste in my mouth. I’d recommend driving all the way to the DeLorenzo’s in Robbinsville instead of put up with these guys.

I came here with family. We were excited about the pizza here and came to experience it. We order two pies, one with toppings and other one plain. When the pizza came, our excitement went away as both the pies were burnt and black. We told our waiter and she said that how we make the pizza and we are famous for it. We left hungry and disappointed. We Will never come back to this place.

There are plenty of good/honest people in this world BUT the family(mom/son) that owns this joint is NOT one of them. Long story short, my phone got«misplaced» while I was there. Not sure if the mom who was waiting on me snatched it from my table while I was paying OR I accidentally left it there… Regardless, they refused to give my phone back and hid it from me. I went back in as soon I I realized my phone was gone. Frantic. All of my 3year old kids picture was on there. I was so DEVASTATED. I asked if they had found my phone and EVERYONE that worked there(first on being the son) said«no»… It wasn’t until the nice lady sitting at my table offered to call my phone… HOLYSH*T!!! It magically appears at the desk where the son was sitting! Looking back, I should of called the cops. When you turn on my phone there is a pic of my son and I. It was OBVIOUS that phone belonged to me. The restaurant had 2 other people, it wasn’t busy! The staff there are the laziest, rudest people I have ever seen in the restaurant business. Aside my personal beef with them, their pizza is overcooked. Unilocal contacted me saying there has been a complaint about my review. Whoever complained, ask the business for a video of the day of my visit. EVERYTHING I wrote is 100% true

I keep making my way back home to the east coast just for this amazing delicious pizza. I loved their old location, yet they replicated the same flavor into the new spot, and it’s just as great! I’m a sucker for the plain and mushroom pizzas. I can eat an entire pie to myself each time. It’s that’s good.

Not sure why there are people giving out less than 5 stars. The place does make a slightly unique pizza. The crust is very thin. But it is good. The sauce seems to be the key. Very fresh tasting and substantial but not overpowering tomato taste. I have eaten pizza from Idaho to Vermont to Florida. This is among the best. The crust can be a little burnt but that is a small sacrifice for this level of quality pizza. Be prepared to eat more slices than normal as the crust is light and thin.

It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been here. The new place is much larger and cleaner! Started with a cup of pasta fagioli soup and we shared the special arugula salad. Both were great. Our pizza came out piping hot, sausage and hot cherry peppers. Our servers, Jenn D and Danielle were super attentive and as friendly as could be! The pie was exactly as I remember! We drove all the way from mount laurel. 22 miles each way. We will be back again soon!

OK, so I consider myself a New York/New Jersey pizza aficionado. I like a variety of thick and cheesy to thin and crispy. Great sauce and great cheese along with the crust are the hallmarks of great pizza. We have been coming here for years when in the Trenton area. Don’t miss the chance for a great pie here!

We typically take a 1 hour drive out to De Lorenzo’s Tomato located at 2350 Highway 33, Robbinsville, NJ and it never disappoints. After arriving we discovered there was an hour wait. Feeling extremely hungry we called DeLorenzo’s Pizza 147 Sloan Ave, Trenton, NJ8619. They are two separate establishments that split after a family feud. The owner’s son said there was no wait so we canceled our reservation at the Robbinsville locations and take a 10 minute drive to the Trenton location. Upon arriving we find there as a 35 — 40 minute wait as the young maître d’ advised. I explained I just called 10 minutes ago there was no wait. She said the owner’s son is telling everyone there is no wait and apologized profusely. She ask the owner’s son why are you telling everyone who calls that there is no wait. He responded out loud«I am sorry you are having a hard time doing your job». Completely rude to her and to me standing there. After about 25 minutes she seats us and apologizes profusely again. I could not believe he said this as this is his fault. We ordered three salads and two pies. The two salads arrive as the waiter forgot. No big deal we shared. However, as we are eating the salad the pies arrives with absolutely no time to given to finish the salad. This drives me nuts as I dislike being rushed. I looked around and realize there was no longer a wait and a few free tables so no excuse for the rush. The pizza was absolutely horrendous with no taste whatsoever. I cannot believe they are still in business with this garbage they sell. Especially with their family member only 10 minutes away Robbinsville which puts this place to absolute shame! After we finished eating I walked up the owner and described my conversation with his son and complimented what a great maître d’ he has. His response was maybe when you called there was no wait. I asked him how the place can fill up with a 35 — 40 minute wait when I called 10 minutes prior and I am not the only customer who was told this over the phone. He shrugged his shoulders, never apologized and could care less. In summary, don’t go to this dump as I never will return again. Horrible service and most of all horrible food! I cannot believe this place is still in business.

I really liked this cute place from the servers in bow ties and black and white photos adorning the walls to the actual pizza but … The sauce, which tasted like real gravy, and cheese were really good but the dough and crust it sat on were just there. I was a bit disappointed bc it is a large part of the pizza. I think Three Brothers spoiled me! This was a different style of pizza for me — being from South Jersey — but it was good!

I came here my a friend for dinner before the movie at the Hamilton AMCl ast Friday. Service is really slow and bad. Our waiter does not have much prior experience waiting on table. Our sodas took over 5 minutes after we placed our order. I would normally let it go but this Friday they were not busy. I’ve tried dining here before but the wait was over 45 mins. I ordered a small antipasto salad and we shared ‘the works’ pizza large. The pizza was loaded with meatball, pepperoni, sausage, anchovies, mushrooms, peppers and etc. The dough was burnt and pizza had to be eaten like a burnt deep dish pizza. The slices could not be folded. It was hard a cracker. I should have read Unilocal reviews and dined at the Unos. Pizza in Korean is better than what we got and Koreans enjoy pizza with sweet potato option.

I used to love Delorenzo’s pizza so much but I can no longer deal with the attitudes of most of the employees. They take the phone off the hook when busy and have no customer service skills at all. The owner of this place needs a business manager really, really bad.

I won’t lie. I was worried when I saw the 1 stars reviews of Delorenzo’s(originally of Hamilton ave) I was also a bit embarrassed that it took me so long to come to the new location. You see I was raised on this tomato pie(as well as the other version that was then located on Hudson) But in recent years pizza has been an infrequent treat for me. Maybe that is why I enjoyed my visit so much today(but probably not) Hopefully whoever is reading this is aware of the history that goes into these pies. This is the style of pizza that has been in the Chambersburg area of Trenton for close to 100 years. For people not used to this style, it is the opposite of Dominoes, Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut. The crust should be thin and crispy, the tomato sauce vibrant and flavorful, and the cheese just a component in the dish, and not the main flavor. Delorenzo’s hit the mark for all of these aspects today. We started with an antipasto that was very good and huge for the price, but honestly, superfluous to the tomato pie experience. If you are with a party of 4 or more this would probably be a better choice. I wanted to try the white clam because that was a favorite of mine at the Hudson location. This version was a bit different, but good. In fact my companion liked this one the best. For the traditional red we went with garlic/mushroom. It was as good as I remember from my youth. At no time did the ultra thin crust become soggy, and the flavors of the sauce, mushrooms and garlic blended perfectly into one another. I am happy to see that there are still many fans of this type of pie in the area. We were seated promptly at 5, but by 6:30 there were crowds just waiting for us to leave(and this was on a rainy Tuesday) There will be haters out there, and I feel sad for them. This is one of the most simple culinary enjoyments available to us, and the fact that it has remained the same for so long means that good taste does not go out of style. We had no issues with customer service, our waitress was quick and professional. Four and a half slices!(but I ate way more than that)

First visit after hearing rave reviews. 45 minute wait on a Saturday night. Lots of regulars waiting around running into each other offering hugs. Definitely a regular place for many. The hostess was a meek girl whispering out names in sea of people. No one could hear her and she was easily distracted. I think a louder more customer focused person is needed with 20 – 30 people waiting to be seated. Our order was taken immediately. We ordered the fall pumpkin seed salad and a large pie. The Trenton tomato pie is definitely not the same as Consohocken tomato pie but is very good. Thin crust, heavy sauce and light cheese. We did not get the citrus dressing on our salad. Good call because the apples tasted like they had been soaked in it and they were bitter. The fresh mozzarella in the salad, so good! Melted in your mouth! I should have gotten that on my pizza! Service was quick. Drinks were refilled. Will definitely be returning customers.

The only constant in life is change. And so DeLorenzo’s left the ‘burg for Hamilton Township, taking over a fast food restaurant space. It is now bigger, with an open kitchen where you can watch your pie being made. The walls are plastered with black and white pictures enjoying DeLorenzo’s on Hamilton Street in years gonebye, But somethings remain the same… namely the tomato pie. I ordered a special, a white pie with spinach, anchovies olives and fresh garlic. The spinach was well chopped and melded in with the cheese. The anchovies were cut in half so you didnt get huge bites of anchovy, and the olives and garlic were generously sprinkled all over. The crust was as crisp as a cracker, and did not get soggy, a great sign of a good pie. All in all, DeLorenzo’s is still a great pizza.
