I called on a weekend with a clogged drain. Mercer charged me more than $ 700 for about 20 minutes worth of work. He never mentioned that his rates would be insane on the weekends. I would have waited until Monday. My toilet was loose as well, so I asked him to use a new bracket I had lying around when he put the toilet back on. In the end he handed me the bracket and the bill, and said«call a plumber to put the bracket on.» What a guy… he couldn’t spend the extra five minutes to use the new bracket. Had he told me he was refusing to put the bracket on Id have told him to leave the toilet off so I could use it. Avoid this company like the plague.

He did a good job cleaning my kitchen sink drain. Took him about ½ hour to do the job. He charged me $ 214.00 for a normal clog, I thought that was kind of high. I called a different local plumber afterwards and was told it would cost me about $ 120-$ 150. Yes, I should have gotten an estimate before I agreed to use him, my mistake.

Have used them 4 times now, for bathroom repairs, sump pump replacement and outside drain cleaning. Prompt, courteous, skillful, quotes prices up front and sticks to them. Does not jack up parts price. What you want in a craftsman — knowledgeable, friendly, doesn’t rip you off, and you can tell he enjoys his work and cares about the quality. After having someone from a large plumbing service screw up a job and just not care, throwing tools around, I called Mercer Drain and it was fixed right. Four checks written, and never once did I wonder whether I got my money’s worth. Good job.

Chris, from Mercer Drain Cleaning, was a phenomenal plumber. I was impressed with his level of honesty and willingness to help me out. I struggled for a few days to find a plumber to fix a tenant occupied home in NJ. I needed a new faucet and shut off valve installed. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so I shopped around. I initially called Roto Rooter and they came in with a quote of $ 500(which I thought was too much). I then called Gold Medal Plumbing hoping they would be cheaper but they came in with a ridiculous price of $ 1,270(stay away from these guys)! I saw a good review on Mercer Drain Cleaning and decided to give them a try. I spoke to Chris on the phone and he was extremely genuine. I explained the issue and he told me it would cost $ 256. He was pretty booked but managed to move some things around in order to schedule me in. Chris came to the house as scheduled and fixed the issue to our satisfaction. For the first time, in a long time, I didn’t feel like I was getting ripped off. I felt like I got a fair price for the work performed. I am so happy I found Chris. I will definitely be calling him for future plumbing issues.
