I booked a multiple day stay at Express Inn & Suites sight unseen. I was in town for a wedding and the bride recommended it, and this is a small town with very few options. On the second day, after running a few errands, I came back to find the door to my room WIDEOPEN. Apparently, management decided to paint the doors to all the rooms and didn’t see anything wrong with depriving me of my room or violating my privacy or increasing the likelihood that my stuff would be damaged/stolen. Not only that, but management also insisted that I leave my door open several hours so the paint could dry. I could tell that some of my stuff had been moved and that my bathroom had been used. On the third day, hospitality finally paid a visit. Unfortunately, the layer of grime on the desk went undisturbed and my fresh pot of coffee was dumped. My bed was made, which was great, but there was a very strong ammonia smell in the room that made me sick. If that sounds like your idea of a good stay, then by all means spend a night at Express Inn & Suites. This place is more for truckers than families or couples. If, like me, you have no stomach for bullshit, try looking for a chain hotel in neighboring Ringgold.
