A solid liquor store, a great destination for between the 10−11pm hour when a lot of other stores in the area are closed. Kelly’s has been a staple of my neighborhood since before I was born. I remember multiple friends working here growing up, as well as it being a destination while we were hanging out to go grab snacks. However, now Kelly’s serves another purpose, and take a wild guess what that is! Beer selection is good. It leaves something to be desired, especially compared to Zetouna right down the road. However, if you’re not heading north, Kelly’s will do in a pinch. Your typical 30 packs, your 24 packs and a decent selection of specialty beers. I can’t complain, but would like more microbrew selection. I totally understand the space limitation though. The liquor selection is what you’d expect. They have the usual suspects and a few interesting off brands, as well as a(surprising) sake and other foreign liquor selection. Prices are the same as everywhere, making it really unexciting in the end. The wine selection, however, is where I was shocked. They have a surprisingly great selection of wine, as well as a 50% off rack. Tisdale merlot for $ 3? Alright, not going to complain. At all! Beyond that, they did have everything from your cheap wine to your classier, more expensive selection. The store is a bit dingy, but really, its a liquor store. The staff is helpful and friendly enough and its pretty easy to find your way. Kelly’s is a destination if I hit that stupid witching hour in Troy where only 7 – 11, CVS and one liquor store are open. Aka 10−11pm. I don’t understand this city at all.
